SONIC ADVENTURE 2
Anything that has this symbol by it ("*") means that either Nakkurusu or Red XVI informed me about it. Thanks guys. ;)
US Release: June 19, 2001
Unlike Sonic Adventure where you chose who you play as (once you meet them in the story) or any of the previous games where you choose who you play as at the start, in Sonic Adventure 2 you chose a side to play (either Hero or Dark) and once you beat a level normally the next level you play as a completely different character. Also, the emblem system is different. You get an emblem for completing each stage and each mission. You are ranked A (best) to E (worst) on how well you did in completing the mission. There is a point to it, which'll be mentioned later.

Bosses
King Boom Boo
After Death Chamber you face a ghost. Don't try to hit him when it's dark in the room. Run around until you find the hourglass, knock it over to let the sunlight in. He'll turn into a shadow on the ground or on the wall (depending on the number of hits you've made so far), dig into the shadow to get him out and then hit him before the sunlight is closed off again.
Rouge
After Meteor Herd, you fight against Rouge. This is like the Knuckles/Sonic fight in Sonic Adventure. However, be careful not to get stuck floating above the lava when the ground opens up at times since Rouge can use her attack "Black Wave" against you (it's an attack from 2-player mode to be explained later).
Gameplay Notes
Unlike Sonic Adventure, the shard/key indicator will not beep when you get near just any shard/key. You have to find the first shard/key before it'll beep for the second shard/key and you'll have to find them both before it'll beep for the third one. To help you out, there are monitors around which give you hints. Your ranking is based on how long it takes and how many hints you use--the more hints you use, the lower your score will be.
Shovel Claw: found in Pumpkin Hill (allows you to dig)
Hammer Gloves: found in Death Chamber (allows you to break metal boxes)
Mystic Melody: found in Wild Canyon (need shovel claw before you can get it; does different things depending on the level)
*Air Necklace: found in Aquatic Mine (allows you to breathe underwater)
*Sunglasses: found in Meteor Herd (allows you to "see" things you couldn't before)
Attacks
In 2-player mode, each character is given 3 attacks that they can use, depending on how many rings you have collected.
Attack #1: 20, 80, 140, etc.
Attack #2: 40, 100, 160, etc.
Attack #3: 60, 120, 180, etc.
Knuckles
Attack #1: Hammer Punch (momentarily makes Rouge dizzy)
Attack #2: Thunder Arrow (lightning attack that causes Rouge to lose rings, shield, or life)
Attack #3: Power Flash (for 10 seconds, Rouge can't move)
Rouge
Attack #1: Hip Drop (momentarily makes Knuckles dizzy)
Attack #2: Black Wave (a wave of black energy attack that causes Knuckles to lose rings, shield, or life)
Attack #3: Charm Ray (for 10 seconds, Knuckles can't move)
*Extra Stuff
In the 1-player story mode, if you beat all the missions (all 25 of them), in the 2-player mode you can choose to play Knuckles in a different outfit. If you beat all of a character's missions and get all A's (Cannon's Core doesn't count toward this), secret characters are unlocked. All A's in Knuckles' missions will allow you to unlock Tikal for 2-player mode only.

2-Player Mode
It's Knuckles vs. Rouge in a best of 3 to find Master Emerald shards. You play in either the Wild Canyon, Pumpkin Hill, or Meteor Herd levels. If you choose "Hunting" (or get them by luck when choosing "Random"), the first to find 2 shards wins the level and the first to win 2 levels wins the match. If you choose one of the 3 stages via "Stage Select," then it's the first to 2 shards who wins.Attacks

Kart Racing
When you beat the Kart Racing stage in either Hero (Tails) or Dark (Rouge) you unlock the Kart Racing game. When you beat kart racing on both sides, kart racing becomes available for the 2-player mode. There are three different tracks and you can race as either Knuckles, Rouge, Sonic, Shadow, Tails or Eggman/Robotnik.Credit for these screenshots go to Sonic Team, IGN, Gamespot, & Computer and Video Games.
