Sonic Adventure 2: New Characters
"Dark Sonic" finally has a name and his name is Shadow. Also, there's been a rumor about a new female character. That rumor is now definitely fact. She's a bat named Rouge. You can see their pics here as ReSaurus is making toys with the two of them.

Sega News
First off, Sonic Adventure 2 has a tentative release date of June 21st. It's almost definite, but not totally.
Second, Sega and Nintendo are becoming very good friends it seems. You can read the article here.
Third, based on some topics on they would like on their message boards, IGNDC put together an article addressing some concerns with Sega going 3rd party.

Recent statements from Ken Penders
The relative silence is over since his server move is complete. Here's some comments he just made, first on Sonic #93:

...in regards to the KNUCKLES story in SONIC #93, I'd like to say a few words.

Some people have criticized my use of photos with the artwork. To that I say... this is how you learn. I've been wanting to experiment with the concept for some time. The problem was that I didn't end up having the control over the finished look like I was originally supposed to have. I was supposed to color the story on Photoshop, which would allow me to do the color seps at the same time. Due to contractual obligations with a third party, the editors at Archie informed me that they would be doing the work. Thus, I found myself essentially creating a road map for them to interpret what I wanted. To say the results were unsatisfying would be an understatement of epic proportions. Would it stop me from doing this again? Not if I was given the control I was originally supposed to have. But that's for another time.

Another final thing... yeah, I know.... :-) ...

[it's worth saying again: Thank you for making Gala-Na purple!] Also, two more important things were said:

There's a lot of new art to be uploaded, including a sneak preview of pages from the upcoming THE CHOSEN ONE storyline that begins in SONIC #95. I guarantee a major shocker where this one is concerned.

Another online chat is coming and we're in for a big surprise in the Chosen One arc. Personally, I can't wait. ^_^

Echidna Spotlight
I promised a bit of a marathon, and it begins with Constable Remington. Hope all the Remmy fans enjoy! ^_~ On Feb 11th, another echidna will be put in the spotlight.

The Recent Sega News
In a nutshell, Sega has been forced to reduce production of DCs and is now going to concentrate on just making video games, no more consoles. It was that or end up out of business in a couple of years. If you want more details that that, click here. That's the best report that I've seen on the matter.
