I've taken a break from playing SA (yup, a DC was part of my Christmas day presents) to basically say what will be going on with the site come February 2, 2001--Knuckles' 7th birthday. I've actually finished the Sega section update but I haven't revealed it yet. I will on Feb 2 along with an upgrade in the Archie section. Also, I have the summaries of the Chaotix stories in Fleetway--thanks Ed--and will be posting them on that date. The design of the site will be changing slightly as well. The last thing to note about that day is the Master Emerald Award winners will be officially announced that day. February is the month of the echidna and if you have an idea of what you'd like to see that month, email me (webmaster@KnucklesHaven.zzn.com) now so I have time to plan it. Sonic Adventure 2 Videos
There are some downloadable movies of SA2 available online. They are 16MB, 31MB, and 25MB each. So, unless you have time to wait for them to download (which I don't), hopefully you have high speed internet access (which I don't at this time). You can see them here.

The Master Emerald Awards
It's new, it's for Knuckles and Chaotix fans, and it's coming in January. Everything is basically set and I'm just making the images and writing the necessary code. There are 11 categories, involving 23 different websites, and several different fan comics. And unlike SA2, it's release isn't going to be pushed back. ^_~

Site News
I'm home for the holidays and winter break. That means I'm on a slow computer, which means it takes twice to three times as long to update. Also, I'm online for limited times and there will be days when I'm not online at all. Updates will be slow coming, but they'll come. A warning to be a little pacient.

Sonic Adventure 2
The rumors continue to go around, but this is an interesting little piece from the Official Dreamcast Magazine:

Although only a few characters have been revealed so far (Sonic, Knuckles, and Dr. Robotnik), sources tell us that five new characters, pulled from former Sonic games on Genesis, Game Gear, amd arcade platforms, will also join the party-introducing new styles of game play in the process.

The other bit of news from ODCM is that SA2 has been pushed back to Fall 2001 instead of the current reported release of February.

Save Our Knuckles
I have a cold and I have finals, so it won't be until probably January that I check for the online comic availability. However, I did update the names a couple of hours ago. So you can check it out at Save Our Knuckles. Petition gets sent when we reach 500 names. We're getting there.

Sonic Anime
I know this is possible revelent if you live in the US, maybe Canada. If you have cable and have the station STARZ, you can watch Sonic the Movie on December 25th at 10:15AM or 6:00PM and December 26th at 3:40AM.

Ken on Knux and Julie-Su
Well, it's a slow news day, but some people might be interested in this explanation about the "marriage" deal. It was posted by Ken on his message board back in August but those of us on the Sonic mailing list got a bunch of mail today. I figured the snipet on Knux & Julie-Su might interest some:

As for how Knuckles and Julie-Su's relationship develops, the reality shouldn't be whether or not they have a document that states whether the relationship is legal and moral, but rather how deep is their commitment to each other. If the commitment isn't there, what good is a marriage if it ends in divorce? In many societies, it's quite obvious it takes more to have a successful relationship than just a ceremony and piece of paper stating you're now married.

In any event, in no way should anyone take what is depicted in the Knuckles stories as my way of saying this is what everyone else should do with their life. If my stories make you think, great, but they shouldn't be regarded how one should conduct themselves in public. That's what you have parents and teachers for.

Tails and SA2
I normally don't report info that deals specifically with a character who isn't called Knuckles or directly deals him, but this is one of those exceptions. There are conflicting reports about Tails being in the game. I think "Maybe" is the best way to phrase Tails' chances siding a little toward "no." While Gamespot does mention Tails being in the game, there is a report from the official UK Dreamcast Magazine that says Yuji Naka said that Tails isn't in SA2 also. He wasn't quoted, so there's always the slight chance of misunderstanding, but that report has slightly more backing than Gamespot's in my opinion. As for the game itself, it seems that it's going to be more reminiscent of the Genesis games, which I think is a good thing for those of us hoping for the appearance of a glowing hot pink echidna.

Last Call: Contest Time
I would like a logo for the site and right now I can't think of anything for it other than using the Knux logo from the Sonic and Knuckles game for Genesis. For Sonic's 10th anniversary, Sonic Team is supposed to releasing a compilation game. Those are three of the reported titles among others. You can read the article here

Sonic #92--Sonic Shuffle adaptation
Okay, to clear up earlier reports. If you have Sonic #91, you know this already. I'll just quote the relevant part in Sonic #91 about Sonic #92:

THIS JUST IN!
As it mentions above, we are interrupting our regularly scheduled Knuckles story to bring you a story of immense proportions.

Basically, no Knuckles back-up because Archie must publish a Sonic Shuffle adaptation--Sega ordered the adaptation and since Sega owns the characters it's Sega's right to it so don't blame Archie, it's out of their hands. It's not the full issue as was the impression I believe most people, including myself, had. However, Knuckles has lost another 8 pages on the way to Sonic #100 so I'm pretty sure that Ken is making some cuts somewhere along the line in Knux' stories again. Sonic #91 also marked the end of Steven Butler as an artist for Knuckles. I think we will be getting Ken Penders or Ron Lim on art for the next story in Sonic #93--my guess at the moment and not something that is definite. Side note, I'm putting up summaries for Sonic #88-91 before the week is over.
