Reminder
Ken Penders will be at the Pittsburg Comic Con tomorrow and Saturday for anyone who lives in the area.

Updates
For those who don't check out my personal page, this message will be new to you. I have finals coming up and I won't be updating this site or SOK after this weekend. My last final will be done on May 11th, but then I have to pack all my stuff (which is a lot) and be gone by the 13th. If I do get any important news, especially regarding Knux comics, I will post it on this site's MB as well as tSf and SonicHQ (my two biggest hangouts) since I'm not going to have time to update manually. I won't be on AIM, except for maybe to take a 30 minute break when I get tired of looking at math problems, so email is your best bet to get in contact with me after this weekend until around May 13th.

Pittsburg Comic Con
If anyone is going to be Pittsburg on April 28 and 29, Ken Penders will be at the comic con there on Friday and Saturday. He'll mostly be promoting The Lost Ones, but you'll probably be able to get some Knuckles and/or Sonic comic info out of him too. Also, if you bring a comic, he'll definitely sign it.

IMPORTANT Concerning Sonic the Comic
After Sonic the Comic #184, the comic will be all reprint (it's already 75% reprint). Please support the British Sonic the Comic by signing the petitions at Save Our Sonic the Comic and Save Sonic the Comic. No one deserves to lose their comic and so many STC fans have supported SOK's petition for them not to get any support from us. Banners to be used to show support for STC are here. More info on the situation I'm sure is at those sites as well as STC: STEM.

Sonic Comics Update
New info from Ken Penders on the Sonic situation.

In Reply to: Question for Ken Penders concerning Sonic comic situation. posted by Ultra Hedgehog on April 18, 2000 at 08:26:24:

I wish people would pay attention. I did NOT say the book was going to be cancelled. I said there's a real danger if current market conditions continue to result in a collapsing of the industry. There's a big difference. I hesitated to even speak about the problem because I knew some people would misinterpret what I was saying, and begin bombarding Archie Comics with letters asking why the book was going to be cancelled.

As a result, I received e-mail from one of the Archie publishers asking why I'm spreading around rumors, so in turn I had to explain to him what was happening. Because of this, I'm probably not going to say a thing about the status of the comic anymore. I don't want to be held responsible for declining sales if my news discourages readers from picking up the books. On the flip side, I don't expect to receive any credit for a bump in sales either.

Whatever happens, happens, and that's all there is to it.

Sounds like he might be getting in trouble for telling us too much "inside" info though.

Sonic Comics Warning
Considering what happened Knuckles, only seven months ago, this statement by Ken Penders should be paid attention to (I cut out the stuff on The Lost Ones and Toy Story):
Posted by Ken Penders on April 16, 2000 at 19:06:37:

...In the meantime, I'm continuing to work on Sonic and Knuckles stories for Archie. However, many of the problems affecting my efforts getting THE LOST ONES to the comic stores are the same ones affecting comic sales throughout, including SONIC and SONIC SUPER SPECIAL.

Already, I'm receiving numerous letters from many readers reporting what a difficult time they're having getting hold of the latest issues. Even if their is still a strong fan base of support for SONIC (which there is), if readers can't get hold of copies to buy, it still amounts to the same thing towards the bottom line as if they lost interest altogether: less copies being sold. The publishers at Archie won't care WHY the book isn't selling. All they'll see is that the book isn't selling as well as it used to, and that'll be justification alone for them to cancel it. (The ironic part here is that even now the SONIC books still outsell the Archie line. Go figure.)

I've hesitated mentioning any of this, because I don't want to be known as the boy who cried wolf here. I also don't want my message misunderstood. I am NOT saying Sonic is about to be cancelled, only that the POSSIBILITY exists if things don't pick up. If the problem is an industry-wide one as I suspect it truly is, there may not be much anyone of us can do anyway, but if you're up for fighting the good fight, you can start by letting your retailers know you want your Sonic comics.

This situation needs to be monitored, especially with the effort to get Knuckles back. No way we'll get Knuckles back if Sonic goes down.

New Banner for SOK
When you get Sonic #83, in the letters page it says that we have to demand Knuckles back, so I created a new banner that I think says it all. If you have a website, please put that banner on your site, or one of the others, which have all been created by devoted Knuckles fans when I didn't have the programs needed to make stuff like that. Banners and ads are at Link to SOK Section.

Reminder
Vote at Sonique's Sonic Grammy Awards nominations poll. Links are below. ^_^

Sonic Grammy Awards
Sonique is conducting a poll for nominations for the Sonic Grammy Awards. While, it's mostly Sonic based stuff, I noticed that Search for the Guardian's Daughter is a choice for best fan comics (the 9th catergory out of 10) and as practically the only Knuckles based thing there, it needs some votes or else it won't become a final choice. So if you haven't voted yet, click here to go straight to the nominating voting area. Or go to Sonique's site, Perfect Chaos, and get to the poll from there. The nominating polls end on April 14

Fave Knux/Chaotix Stories
That's the theme for the polls next month. However, I need to narrow it down to ten stories. Go to Charmy's Message Boards section and go to this site's MBs. At the Comics MB I started a post there where you can all put down your top 10 stories. I have every Knux/Chaotix story listed by title and the issue(s) that correspond to it. If no one puts down their top ten, you all will be voting from my top ten. If you are a Fleetway comic reader, I definitely want input since I don't know that series nearly as well as Archie. You have until the end of this month to put up your choices.

Knuckles Haven 3,000th Hit
Congratulations to Kimberly Fear who was the 3,000th visitor. ^_^

Knuckles Comics
I was just at the Mobius Forum and Jakii has posted something that I thought we all would be interested in:
"Hey guys

I read in Sonic #83 the Sonic-Grams someone named Nax from Oklahoma City, OK said:

How do we get KNUCKLES back in his own comic?!?

And they responded by saying:
If enough readers write in and demand its return, then it's very possible...

I was thinking of flooding them with letters from us Sonic and Knuckles fan demanding Knux's Comic back. I wanna see what's gonna happen in Knux's life. At least is was more interesting than this hole SA plot.

Well i GTG Hope ya all writte too."

So they finally decided to acknowledge that there are upset fans who want Knux back in Sonic-Grams. If you plan on writing a letter, I have the address(es) to send it in SOK's News Section. Now's the time to really send the message everyone. They've finally told us what to do, Knux fans. So let's do it!

STC #178: Knuckles vs. Chaos
Okay, that wasn't the title, but that's what's on the cover. ^_^ It's a battle for control over the chaos emeralds on the Floating Island and definitely NOT an issue to be missed by Fleetway fans. And if you happen to be a fan of a certain echidna, you better get this issue. You won't be sorry. Kudos to Ed for giving me the scoop on the issue.

Save Our Knuckles
I have finally updated SOK. ^_^ The site is now almostly completely on my Spree account. The Xoom account is still there, but it won't be updated at all. I am putting a link from the main page on my Xoom account to the Spree account though. If you link to SOK with http://saveourknuckles.cjb.net there is nothing to change because that will direct you to my Spree account of SOK. If you link to SOK with http://members.xoom.com/truered/saveourknux.html, then please update to http://members.spree.com/entertainment/truered/SOK/index.html or use http://saveourknuckles.cjb.net ^_^

Knuckles Adventure
Before I begin, this IS NOT a real game being created by Sega/Sonic Team yet. However, in honor of all us Knux and Chaotix fans, Lien has created pics and stuff for "Knuckles Adventure" starring Knuckles and the Chaotix. Check them out here. The pics are awesome! Along with the wallpaper! :)

SonicHQ Yesterday
Just in case anyone wasn't sure, SonicHQ was not hacked yesterday. It was all just an April Fools' Day joke. ^_^
