Time for my first Valentine's Day music fic.

It's late in the afternoon and there's a prevalent somber feeling on the Floating Island. King Sonic and Queen Sally's shuttle containing the Freedom Fighters land in Echidnaopolis. As they exit the craft, Mighty greets them.

"Sonic, I'm glad you guys could make it," as Mighty shakes Sonic's hand.
"No way in the world would we miss this. We may have had our problems in the past, but that's ancient history."
"Where is it taking place?"
"Well, Sally, Julie-Su felt it would be best to have it in Knuckles' favorite spot....near the edge of the Floating Island."

An hour later, the full Chaotix and their families, the Freedom Fighters, Lara-Le, Wyn, Locke, Remington, Yanar, Julie-Su, and Lara-Su are gathered as the coffin is lowered into the ground.

The minister begins speaking, "We are all gathered here today to say good-bye to someone who was very dear to us all and the greatest Guardian the Floating Island has ever had...Knuckles the Echidna..."

After the minister finishes, everyone else got a chance to say their own special good-byes as night began to fall. However, Julie-Su didn't say anything, which surprised everyone.

As the private funeral ended and everyone started to head home, Julie-Su stayed and stood by the grave.

"Mama, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Lara-Su," flashing a wane smile noticing Lara-Su's worried look. "I just want a moment alone right now."
"Okay, I'm going to stay with Grandma."
"I'll meet you there later," replied Julie-Su as they hugged each other and then Lara-Su left.

The night sky was clear, but the only thing shining was the full moon. As Julie-Su looked up at the sky, she finally found the words she wanted to say earlier, but couldn't. She began to sing:

*remembering when she first talked to Knuckles on the edge of the Floating Island*

*thinking of the simpathetic smiles she's received the past few days*

*feels a breeze begin to start*

*suddenly one star appears in the sky and Julie-Su truly smiles for the first time in the past few days*

"I'm counting down the days until we meet again, Knuckles..." as Julie-Su back to Echidnaopolis.
