It was a quiet night. Knuckles and the Chaotix decided to get together and camp out in the Mushroom Hill Zone. They all had a great time, cooking marshmallows in the fire, and telling stories. Soon they all grew tired and sleepy, and started to hit the sack. They all went into their sleeping bags.
“ Good night, guys,” Knuckles yawned, “See ya in the morning.”
“ ‘Night, Knuckles,” replied Julie-Su. “Sweet dreams.”
Soon, everyone, but Julie, had fallen asleep. For a long time, Julie-Su lay in her sleeping bag, awake, gazing at the stars and the full moon. She
then glanced over at Knuckles, who was just about a foot away from her. She sighed, thinking, * I never got the chance to tell him… * Julie-Su
looked back up in the sky, and started to sing, quietly:
“Out here in the quiet of the night,
Beneath the stars and moon
We both know we’ve got something on our minds
We won’t admit, but it’s true.”
“You look at me, I look away.”

Suddenly, Knuckles started to yawn. He then turned and glanced at Julie-Su.
“Did you say something, Julie?” he asked.
Julie blushed a little, “Me? Oh, nothing! I didn’t say anything, Knux.” She turned away from him and buried herself in her sleeping bag.
“Good night,” she called. Knuckles just looked at her strangely, then went back to sleep. Making sure he was asleep, Julie glanced at Knuckles for one last time. * Maybe I’ll tell him someday, * she thought to herself. She closed her eyes, sighed, and went to sleep under the peaceful night sky.
