The Ultimate Villian Prt 1:Who is the new Villian? by Steffie

Author's Notes:This happened a few months after "When things couldn't 
get any worse".This fic is mainly focused on the Freedom Fighters.

Rated PG 13 because of a few violent scenes I've described.

Note:In my version,Sonic is actually very smart(above average IQ) but 
he doesn't really like showing it.When he does show it,he doesn't speak 
like Sally or Nicole but like how he normally does.Just pointing that 
out.

The Freedom Fighters(Sonic,Sally,Antoine,Bunnie,Rotor and Tails)are 
flying in the Freedom Fighter Special.They just finished their mission to 
stop one of Eggman's plans.They are all in high spirits.
"It feels so cool to beat RoBUTTnik at his own game,right,Sal?" Sonic 
sighed in relief,crossing his arms behind his head and placed his feet 
on the plane's cabbyhole.Sally gave him a side-ways look.
"Feet off the cabbyhole,Sonic." she scolded the hedgehog 
playfully.Sonic smiled back at her.It's been a while since Sally was all cheerful.He 
turned around and saw Antoine and Bunnie holding hands while talking to 
each other.They looked so happy.Will he and Sally ever get such a 
chance?Will King Max ever understand their love for each other?

"Are you listening,Sonic?" Tails piped up.Tails sat in the co-pilot 
seat next to Rotor who was flying the Special.Sonic snapped out of his 
thoughts.
"Sorry,little bro..whaddya say?" he asked meekly.
"Didn't you find it strange that Mammoth Mogul hardly used his full 
power to fight us until recently even when we were easilly kicking his 
butt?" he asked his hero.
"Yeah...I did find that strange as well.Why did he become crystal-like 
after we beat him as well?Totally uncool if ya ask me."
"But we did give 'im a beatin';right,Sugah-Hog?" Bunnie cheered 
on,pumping her robotic fist in the air.They're right.But it just 
felt...wrong.They didn't want to kill him but that was the only way to stop him.

*Hours later*

"We're finally here at the Great Forest!" Rotor cheered from the 
pilot-seat.The others cheered as well.They were away from home for quite a 
while.
"I can't wait to tell Mom and Dad what we did.I can't wait for some 
Chili-Dogs.Mmm...with extra chili..." Sonic drooled,licking his lips.Sally 
grossed out. 
"I can't wait to hear what all happened while we were away!" Tails 
squeaked from excitement.Antoine and Bunnie just looked lovingly into each 
other's eyes. 

Rotor landed the plane where the Great Oak Tree was.When they got 
out,they smelt smoke.They walked around the area to see where the smoke came 
from.They noticed that it was coming from the Great Oak Tree's hole.If 
they've looked closely,they would notice that the smoke was a 
greenish-grey colour.
"Isn't this time of the year too wet for a forest fire,Sal?" Sonic 
asked Sally.
"You're right.It did rain recently.It was the most rain we had for 
years." Sally mused.Sonic jumped down the Great Oak tree.The others 
followed.When they got to the other side,they were shocked.Knothole was in 
ruins.The huts and trees were burnt to a dark grey.Green fire loomed here 
and there.Sonic and Sally noticed that.They walked up to it.
"Everybody else,check and see if you can find anyone alive.Friend or 
any of the prisoners.We'll catch up to you later." Sally ordered the rest 
of the group. 

"Sal,can you really get green flames?I know flames can be blue when 
it's extremely hot but green?" Sonic asked Sally.Sally walked up to 
one.She bent down and rested on one knee.She took Nicole out from her boot.
"Nicole.Scan and determine what substance or element that this flame 
made out of."
"Scanning.Will take two minutes to scan." Nicole made beeps and showed 
a red bar while scanning.Sonic tapped his foot.

*Two minutes later*

"Scanning complete.The element this flame was made out of would be 
Chaos Energy from a Chaos,Super or Master Emerald." Nicole droned.
"No way!" Sonic and Sally screamed in unison.
"Oh my stars!Dr Eggman...!"
"It can't be him!He doesn't know where we live.We gave him a virus 
which destroyed his data,remember."
"But,my brother Elias wanted Knothole to be 'modernised'.That was a 
mistake.They chopped many tress down to build buildings and clinics and 
prisons and a school..."
"Can't blame your bro on this,Sal.Whoever did it should be the one to 
blame!"

*The others*

Rotor,Antoine,Bunnie and Tails are looking out for anyone who are still 
alive.They checked the clinic,the prison..almost everywhere.It wasn't a 
pretty sight.They saw corpses of various people.Some were severly burnt 
that they weren't recognizable.Others were literally evaporated and the 
only things left of them were their clothes and what's not burnt in 
their homes.On a few occasions,they had to force themselves to not throw 
up.But there were times when it was too much to handle.
"What could've happened?" Rotor wondered out loud.They've heard groans.
"Stop groaning,Ant!" Tails sighed.
"It wasn't moi!" Antoine protested.They heard it again.
"It's from those bushes!" Tails pointed at the bushes where he heard 
the moans.They tip-toed to the bush.Who they've found was a relief.It was 
Mina,Hope and Amy.They looked all beaten up.They lied motionless on the 
ground. 
"Are you alright,Sugah?" Bunnie asked Amy while helping her to her 
feet.Amy rubbed the bump that's on her head.She nodded slowly while facing 
Bunnie.Antoine helped Hope up while Rotor helped Mina up.

"We must find Sonic and Sally now.They must know that there are only 
three survivors."

*Sonic and Sally*

Sonic raced towards the palace while Sally holds him tightly around his 
neck.When they arrived at the gate,they could've believe what they 
saw.It was as if they've entered a war zone.

There lied the guards.All of them dead.Their fur were 
charcoal-black.Smoke rised from their bodies and towards the direction where the wind 
was blowing.Some still had their guns in their hands.The stench of burnt 
flesh filled the air.Sonic tried not to puke from the stench.Sally 
looked away with tears in her eyes.
"What if...?" Sally said to Sonic,voice cracking.Tears streamed from 
her eyes.Sonic felt his eyes burn from hot tears.He knows what she meant.

"Let's get in.I'm sure they're alive." Sonic assured her in a meek 
whisper.He tried to smile but his bottom-lip trembled.Sonic used his 
Sonic-spin to cut through the steel gate.They've entered inside.

*The others* 

"So,you were attacked by a red echidna who has a robotic eye?" Rotor 
asked.Mina,Hope and Amy were explaining what happened.
"With him was a female blue echidna.She ordered him to destroy us all." 
Amy continued.Hope and Mina nodded in agreement as if the others 
wouldn't believe them.
"Why would they go and try to kill us?",Hope asked no one in 
particular,"We didn't do anything wrong.We didn't invade their homes.They did.Now 
all the innocent people had to die."
"How eez that you have eezcaped?" Antoine asked.
"Mina grabbed hold of us and ran towards the Great Oak tree when the 
red echidna tried to destroy us with a Chaos Beam." Amy answered Antoine.
"Did you say,'Chaos Beam' ?" the others shouted in unison.

*Sonic and Sally*

Sally searched high and low for her parents and Rosie with Sonic's 
help.After cheking the lower parts of the castle,she decided to check their 
chambers.Sonic decided to check one floor while Sally check the 
other.Sally first checked Rosie's room.She screamed bloody murder after she 
opened the door.Rosie was lying on the floor on her stomach.Rosie was 
covered with her own blood.Most of her was trickling from her back to the 
floor.She ran up to her nanny.She kneeled down and checked her 
pulse.She's still alive!Sally flipped her over and supported her with her arm.
"...sally...? she wheezed under her breath.Sally noticed that Rosie was 
actually shot with a laser gun.The laser must've entered through her 
chest and out her back.
"Yes,it's me,Rosie.Don't speak.You're wasting too much of your energy." 
Sally wept.
"A--Red---Echidna---Cyb---org---" Rosie struggled.She coughed up some 
bright-coloured blood.Sally started to tremble.She took her jacket off 
and pressed it on the wound to stop the bleeding.In seconds her jacket 
became soaked with Rosie's blood
"Rest please.Don't speak." Sally pleaded her nanny.She can't remember 
the First-Aid she must use for this type of wound.She was in too much of 
a shock.Rosie's eyes started to roll over.Her body started to become 
stiff but was also limp.
"--And----His---la--dy----fri--en--d--shot--me---Max--Ali--cee--a--" 
Rosie gasped while looking in Sally's sad eyes.She gripped onto Sally's 
arm before drifting away.
"Who is she?" Sally weeped.
"Some---one---call--call--called---Mu----Mur---Murdd---Mur----Mur-Da---" 
She gasped her final breath.Her grip on Sally's arm loosened.Her head 
tilted back.She closed her eyes.Her pulse weakened before it stopped 
altogether.The bleeding stopped as well.
"ROSIE!!!!" Sally screamed.She screamed so loudly that her voice echoed 
through the castle.

*Sonic*

Sonic found the King and Queen's chamber.He gasped in shock when he saw 
them.Max was lying in his bed with Queen Alicia right next to him 
dead.They were holding hands.Sonic stepped closer.He noticed that they are 
both covered in blood and shot wounds.Sonic quickly placed his fore and 
middle fingers on the side of their necks to feel a pulse.None.He 
noticed how warm the bodies were.
"We were too late..." Sonic bit his lip.He shut his eyes tight while 
the tears streamed down.He fell to his knees and screamed with all his 
might these words,"DAMN YOU!WHOEVER DID THIS!IF I EVER FIND YOU,I'LL MAKE 
YOU PAY!YOU'LL BE SO SORRY THAT YOU EVER DID THIS OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT 
YOU DID WRONG!!!!!DO YOU HEAR ME,YOU BLOODY BASTARD!!!!!DAMN YOU TO THE 
PITS OF HELL!!!!"

Sally entered the room and placed her hand on his shoulder.Sonic looked 
up at her face.She had pure rage written on her face.Tears still ran 
down her face.In her one hand was her bloody jacket.

"I know who did this.He and his lady friend shall pay." Sally 
growled.Sonic stared at her in shock.He never saw Sally like this before.

"Hell hath no fury like a princess scorned.Those murderers will learn 
that the hard way!", Sally growled through gritted teeth.She held her 
fists in extremely tight balls.Tears streamed down her face freely,"Let's 
go to the Floating Island!" she ordered while trying to keep calm.
