The Young Guardian
By: SnowPuppy
After Kay-Si and Steppenwolf got Moonwatcher back safe and sound(see
the last
story, "With the Good Comes the Bad" for more information!),
Steppenwolf was
more protective over his wife and child. He didn't want anything more
to
happen to them, for they've been through alot, espicially Kay-Si. And
the
young guardian, Moonwatcher, was growing and learning more. By the time
he
was six years old he could say all of his words.
Kay-Si was busy with dinner when she heard a little voice.
"Mommy! Mommy! What's fer dinner?" Asked young Moonwatcher.
"Corn on the cob, broccoli, and carrot soup." Replied Kay-Si.
"Yuck, I HATE that icky stuff! Can't we have a chocolate cake for
dinner,
mommy?" Said Moonwatc her.
"No, sweety, that's dessert not dinner. This stuff is good for you,
Sweety.
You can have chocolate cake if you be good and clear your plate." Said
Kay-Si.
"Aw, do I hafta?" Said Moonwatcher.
"Yes you "hafta". Dont you want to grow up to be big and strong?" Asked
Kay-Si.
"No, not really. I'd rather have chocolate cake!" Said Moonwatcher.
Kay-Si sighed and went back to making dinner.
"Mommy!" Moonwatcher spoke up.
"What is it, Honey? I'm making dinner right now." Said Kay-Si.
"Mommy, where's daddy?" Asked Moonwatcher, jumping up trying to see
what
Kay-Si was doing more clearly.
"Daddy is busy. You know that. I've told you a million times. Daddy is
a
guardian and he does his job all day." Said Kay-Si, holding down
Moonwatcher
so that he couldn't jump.
"But mommy! Doesn't he ever take a break?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"Yes he comes in at nine." Said Kay-Si.
"Yes but thats when he goes to bed!" Said Moonwatcher.
"Well he's got to go to bed, Sweety. But you can see him when he comes
in to
check on us, okay?" Said Kay-Si.
"Okayyy... mommy! Can we get a dog?" Asked Moonwatcher, changing the
subject.
"Sweetheart, you'll have to talk to daddy about that. I'm very busy
right
now. For a small echidna, you sure have a mouth full of questions."
Said
Kay-Si.
"There's never anything fun to do around here! I wish I had a dog."
Said
Moonwatcher.
Moonwatcher went in the living room and played some music. He sat down
on the
couch and listened to it.
Then Steppenwolf came in. Moonwatcher turned off the music and went to
go see
his dad.
"Daddy! Daddy! Can we get a dog? Can we?!" Said Moonwatcher.
"A dog? Where'd you get that idea?" Asked Steppenwolf.
"From mommy. She said they make good pets. And on my radio they said
they are
good pets! I want one! Daddy! Can I?! Can I?! I want one!" Said
Moonwatcher.
"Now slow down, okay? A dog is a big responsibility. They are much more
then
what you think they are. A dog isn't a toy and is a living creature.
They
need good food and attention just like everyone else does." Said
Steppenwolf.
"But daddy--!" Started Moonwatcher.
"No buts. You might get one later on in life, but just not now. Your
too
young to understand the responsibility of being a pet-owner right now."
Said
Steppenwolf to his son.
"Thats all any body ever says! Everybody always says I'm too young!"
Said
Moonwatcher.
"That's because you are, darling." Said Kay-Si, coming into the room.
"But mommy, you said they made good pets." Said Moonwatcher.
"They do, but you should wait 'til your older." Said Kay-Si.
"Hmph!" Said Moonwatcher, going to his room.
"Honey! Come out of there and eat your dinner! It's ready! Or should I
say,
cold? Everybody else has already ate their dinner, sweety!" Said Kay-Si
through Moonwatcher's bedroom door.
"I'm not hungry." Said Moonwatcher upsettingly.
"Oh come on, sweetheart, you'll wanna come down to dinner. There's a
surprise
waiting for you." Said Kay-Si.
That did it. Moonwatcher came bursting out of his room. He skidded down
the
hallway and into the kitchen.
"What's this, mommy?" Asked Moonwatcher, holding a box covered with
wrapping
paper and red ribbon.
"It's your surprise. We've decided to give you your birthday present
early.
We thought it would make you feel better." Said Kay-Si.
"Is it a dog? Oh boy!" Said Moonwatcher, wripping the paper off of the
box.
No, Moonwatcher, honey, it's not a dog... not a living one, that is.
Thought
Kay-Si.
When he was finished unwrapping the present, he found a box with what
looked
like a dog in it. But it wasn't a real dog;it was a toy dog. But it
said on
the box that the toy dog acted like a real dog. So hopefully
Moonwatcher
would accept this toy dog instead of a real dog.
"Oh boy! Doggy! Mommy, can you open the doggy's box?" Said Moonwatcher
happily.
Phew, he took the toy dog for a real dog. Good. Now hopefully he will
be
happy again. Thought Kay-Si.
"Mommy?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"Oh, of course, sweety!" Said Kay-Si.
Kay-Si opened the box and Moonwatcher sang with joy as he hugged his
new
friend.
"Mommy, what should we call him?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"It's says here on the box that his name is D.J." Said Kay-Si, pointing
to
the box.
"D.J.? What's D.J.?" Asked Moonwatcher confusingly.
"D.J. is short for two names together, such as Danny Johnny. Something
like
that." Said Kay-Si.
"Okie! We'll call him Danny Johnny! I wuv you, Danny Johnny!" Said
Moonwatcher.
"Woof!" Said the realistic toy dog.
Okay, good. It has batteries in it. I didn't want to tell Moonwatcher
that
has doggy pal takes batteries. If I told him that, he would realize
that it's
just a toy and not real. Thought Kay-Si.
"Oh DanJo, your so funny!" Said Moonwatcher gleefully.
"Ruff!" Said Danny Johnny.
"Me and Danny Johnny are going to go play up in my room, okay?" Said
Moonwatcher to his mother.
"Eat your dinner first." Said Kay-Si, pointing to the untouched plate
of food.
Moonwatcher smiled innocently and ate his dinner before going back in
his
room to spend some time playing with his new toy.
When Steppenwolf came in, Moonwatcher rushed up to tell him about his
new pet.
"Look, daddy, I finally got a dog! Say hello, Danny Johnny!" Said
Moonwatcher
happily.
"Woof!" Said Danny Johnny.
"Danny Johnny? I thought his name was D.J." Said Steppenwolf
confusingly.
"Oh Daddy, your so silly! D.J. is short for Danny Johnny!" Said
Moonwatcher.
"I thought it was short for Danny-Jo." Said Steppenwolf.
"Danny-Jo is also short for Danny Johnny!" Said Moonwatcher.
"Okay, now I'm getting confused." Said Steppenwolf.
"Moonwatcher wanted to know what D.J. was short for and I told him it
could
be short for Danny Johnny and he liked the name so he began to call him
that." Said Kay-Si.
"Oh I see now." Said Steppenwolf shaking off the confused look.
Before long, Moonwatcher figured out that "Danny Johnny" was just a
toy, but
he didn't seem to mind. But soon, he began to forget about his once
doggy
friend, and he ended up in a pile of all Moonwatcher's other old toys,
never
to be used again. Moonwatcher was now eight, and more mature than he
was when
he was six.
But he still wasn't a grown echidna yet. He had alot to learn. He still
had
his kid personality, just not as much as he used to.
"Mom, can we go to the park?" Moonwatcher asked his mom.
"Sweety, you'll have to ask your dad when he gets in." Said Kay-Si.
Just then, Steppenwolf walked in.
"Bingo! Dad!" Moonwatcher began.
"What is it?" Asked Steppenwolf.
"Can we go to the park?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"You can go if your mother takes you, I'm busy." Said Steppenwolf.
"Okay, mom, will you take me?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"Okay! Okay!" Said Kay-Si.
When they got there, Moonwatcher looked at all the different stuff that
he
didn't know what to do next.
"I'm gonna go play in the sandbox, okay, mom?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"Okay, hon." Replied Kay-Si.
"Mom! I want you to meet my new friends! This is Calvyn and this is
Molly-Ca." Said Moonwatcher, showing his mother his new friends.
"Hi, Mrs. Guardian!" Said Molly-Ca.
Calvyn didn't say a word.
"Calvyn's a little shy." Said Moonwatcher.
"Oh, Moonwatcher! Your so lucky!" Said Molly-Ca.
"Why? You'll be eight years old some day, too. You wont stay seven the
rest
of your life, thats what my dad told me." Said Moonwatcher.
Molly-Ca blushed. "It's not that!"
"Then what?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"Your so lucky because you get to be the son of the guardian of the
floating
island! Your soooooooo lucky!" Said Molly-Ca.
"Well, maybe, but not THAT lucky! You dont have to worry about your dad
not
having time to see you! My dad's always busy!" Said Moonwatcher sadly.
"Well MY dad ALWAYS has time for me! And my aunt Vycky-Na comes over
almost
every day! It's the time of my life at my house!" Said Calvyn,
smirking.
"Yeah, I wished I lived with you!" Said Moonwatcher.
"Vycky-Na?! Is your dad by any chance Ronnald?" Asked Kay-Si, looking
up from
her book.
"Yeah, how'd you know?" Said Calvyn suspiciously.
"I didn't know he was married, or had a child, for that matter." Said
Kay-Si.
"Yeah he's married to my mom Bec-Ki. You know my dad?" Said Calvyn.
"Know him?! Him and Vycky-Na almost killed your friend Moonwatcher one
time."
Said Kay-Si.
"Oh, no way! My dad and aunt are real nice! They would never kill
anyone."
Said Calvyn.
"Yeah, I dont remember anyone trying to kill me!" Said Moonwatcher.
"That's because you were very young of age. You were only two." Said
Kay-Si.
"You never told me that before." Said Moonwatcher.
"That's because I never wanted to tell you that before." Said Kay-Si.
"Well tell me now!" Said Moonwatcher.
Kay-Si then told Moonwatcher and his friends the whole story about
Vycky-Na
and Ronnald trying to kill him(see the last story, "With the Good Comes
the
Bad" for more information on that!).
"Whoa, I can't believe I almost died there!" Said Moonwatcher, shaking
his
head.
"Well I dont believe ANY of the story! I bet your mother is just lying!
Lying, thats it! What someone would do when they dont want their kids
to have
fun! Hmph!" Said Calvyn, walking away.
"Okay, Calvyn is gone, mom. Can you tell me if that story you told was
true
or not?" Said Moonwatcher.
"It was TRUE, honey! As true as you and me!" Said Kay-Si.
"Okay. C'mon, Molly-Ca, lets go play in the sandbox." Said Moonwatcher.
After awhile, it began to get dark. Kay-Si then decided it was time for
them
to go home. She walked toward the sandbox.
"Okay Moonwatcher, time to go---!" Kay-Si started to say. But what she
saw in
front of her astonished her.
"MOONWATCHER!" She shouted, as she saw Moonwatcher's body in the sand,
lifeless.
She turned him over and saw blood all over his back. She knew that he
had
been shot.
Oh, what am I going to do?! What?! He looks so.. so lifeless. What will
I
tell Steppenwolf? Oh I can't go home now! I've gotta get the medics
here!
Thought Kay-Si.
No, Kay-Si. You must get your husband here. Don't call the medics until
he's
here. Get him here, Kay-Si. It's what you must do.
Kay-Si gasped. It was that voice again!
But I can't! What will he say? Thought Kay-Si.
Kay-Si, Moonwatcher is Steppenwolf's son as much as he is yours. He has
to
know about this, too. Now call him!
Kay-Si knew the voice was right. She went to find the nearest
telephone. She
found one. She dialed the number, and bit her lip, she was afraid of
what
Steppenwolf might say.
"Hello?" Kay-Si heard Steppenwolf say.
"Hello Steppenwolf. This is Kay-Si." Said Kay-Si.
"I was wondering when you was going to call, since you wasn't coming
back and
it's awfully late. Are you stranded or something?" Said Steppenwolf.
"No. I need to tell you something very important. Something awful has
happened." Said Kay-Si.
"What?" Asked Steppenwolf in a concerned voice.
"It's Moonwatcher. He's bleeding, and we need to get him to a
hospital!" Said
Kay-Si.
"He... what?! Oh my---! Then you should've called the medics, not me!"
Said
Steppenwolf.
"But that voice--! It told me to call you first, not the medics!" Said
Kay-Si.
"Oh Kay-Si! Not that voice again! You should've called the medics! And
what
were you doing... reading?!" Asked Steppenwolf angrily.
"Yes.. but--" Began Kay-Si.
"You shouldn't of been reading, Kay-Si! You should've kept an eye on
them and
got your nose out of your book! If you had just put that book up, I bet
he
wouldn't be bleeding to death right now....!" Said Steppenwolf angrily
to
Kay-Si.
"I'm sorry! I had no idea something like this was going to happen..!"
Said
Kay-Si, sobbing over the phone.
Kay-Si started crying harder. She had two reasons for her intense
crying:
Number one, Moonwatcher was bleeding to death. Number two, Steppenwolf
was
scaring her. She was crying so hard it was hard for her to say another
word.
"Oh, Kay-Si, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you even more, I'm
just
worried about our son. I'm sorry. I'll be right there." Said
Steppenwolf.
"Oka-ay." Said Kay-Si, putting down the phone.
Kay-Si ran over to her fallen son and sobbed even more. She put her
hand on
him and waited for Steppenwolf to get there. When he did he ran over
to his
wife and child. He comforted his wife and also put his hand on his son.
They
called the medics and waited for them. Then Kay-Si saw something
astounding;Moonwatcher was healing before her very eyes! The blood, and
everything, disappeared! It was as if he was healthy again.
"S-Steppenwolf, how did that happen?" Said Kay-Si.
Steppenwolf noticed what his wife met. He lowered his head in
confusement.
Your's and Steppenwolf's concern and love for Moonwatcher has healed
him. It
has healed him like no medic could ever.
"Steppenwolf! The voice! It just told me that mine and your concern and
love
for Moonwatcher has healed him!" Said Kay-Si.
"Makes sence." Said Steppenwolf.
Moonwatcher coughed and opened his eyes.
"Mom! Dad!" He said with delight.
"Moonwatcher!" His parents said, also with delight.
"Okay, we're here! Where's the patient?" Said the head-medic, Amber-Ah.
"He's right here. But he seems to be just fine now." Said Kay-Si.
The medics checked out Moonwatcher and he seemed to be just fine, just
like
Kay-Si had told them.
"Well we better head on home." Said Steppenwolf.
"Yeah, it's already way past Moonwatcher's bedtime." Said Kay-Si.
When they got home, Kay-Si tucked Moonwatcher in for the night.
"Good night, darling." She told him.
"Good night, mom." Replied Moonwatcher.
Kay-Si then kissed him on the forehead and went in her room to go to
sleep
herself.
It's really cold in here. Thought Moonwatcher. Hmmm... I wonder, I
wonder
what it's like to be married? I have to ask mom that question
tomorrow..
'cause right now I'm really sleepy!
Moonwatcher turned over and without thinking another thought, went to
sleep.
When he woke up he jumped out of bed and went into the kitchen.
"Mom, I have to ask you a question, actually, two questions." Said
Moonwatcher.
"What is it, hon?" Asked Kay-Si.
"Well, first of all, I want to know what it's like to be married. I
figured
you'd know, because your married to dad. No big reason, just wondering,
thats
all." Said Moonwatcher.
"Well, sweetheart, there are lots of steps before marriage. First you
have to
have a crush. And then if your crush has a crush on you too, you'll be
boyfriend and girlfriend. And then a long while after boyfriend and
girlfriend you'll get married if the boyfriend proposes and if the
girlfriend
accepts. And then thats the engagement period. And it will be probably
a few
months until the wedding, whatever you and your fiance decide. And
after the
wedding, you go on your honeymoon. And then during marriage, you have
to have
a talk with your spouse about if your ever going to have children... so
there
are alot of steps to that, honey." Said Kay-Si.
"Wow, I never knew it took so long to get married and have children!"
Said
Moonwatcher astonishingly.
"Yep." Said Kay-Si.
"Well thats the other thing I want to talk about, is children. How do a
mom
and dad get a child?" Asked curious Moonwatcher.
"Well.. sweety, thats a little more difficult to describe. First a mom
and a
dad echidna decide that they really want to have children. And, when
your
going to have a child you'll know it, because the wife will be
pregnant. And
you know the wife is pregnant if her belly starts to get bigger, and by
check-ups. When it's time for the mom to give birth, she has to be
rushed to
the hospital. And thats where you have the egg. And when it hatches,
you've
got a baby echidna." Explained Kay-Si.
"Oh. So, I was an egg?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"Yes, sweety, you were." Said Kay-Si.
"Wow! I want to get married!" Said Moonwatcher.
"Well, sweety, you've got to have a crush, and besides, your too young
to get
married right now." Said Kay-Si.
"When can you get married?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"You've got to atleast be seventeen or eighteen." Said Kay-Si.
"Oh. But can I have a crush?" Asked Moonwatcher.
"Yes, sweety, you can have a crush. Just dont rush into things, now.
The
first one isn't always "the one"." Said Kay-Si.
"Okay.. then when can you be boyfriend and girlfriend?" Asked
Moonwatcher.
"You got to be atleast fifteen before you start going out on dates."
Said
Kay-Si.
"Oh." Said Moonwatcher.
"Why, do you have a crush?" Asked Kay-Si.
Moonwatcher blushed. "Well... sort-of."
"Who?" Asked Kay-Si.
"Molly-Ca." Replied Moonwatcher.
"Well I'm sure you two would make a good couple, but remember, dont
rush into
things." Said Kay-Si.
"Well you and dad are married. Dont you still have a crush on him?"
Asked
Moonwatcher.
"Sweety, I have more than a crush on your dad, okay? Please, no more
questions about romance right now. You dont need to worry about that
kind of
stuff right now, honey." Said Kay-Si.
"Okay." Said Moonwatcher, shrugging.
"Where are you going?" Asked Kay-Si, noticing Moonwatcher heading for
the
door.
"Out. I'm going to go visit Molly-Ca. I'll be okay, mom." Said
Moonwatcher.
"Okay, but you be careful." Said Kay-Si.
"Okay, mom. Dont worry about me. Everything will be a-okay." Said
Moonwatcher.
"Waitaminute, now where are you heading off to?" Asked Steppenwolf,
walking
in.
"I'm going to visit Molly-Ca. I wont be gone long. Can't I go..
please?"
Asked Moonwatcher.
"Okay, but straight to Molly-Ca's and back. Got that? No where else."
Said
Steppenwolf firmly.
"Okay, dad, I promise." Said Moonwatcher, heading out the door.
"Who's Molly-Ca?" Steppenwolf asked when Moonwatcher was out the door.
"Molly-Ca is Moonwatcher's new friend. They met at the park. And
Moonwatcher
just got through asking me about marriage and children. It seems he has
a
crush on Molly-Ca." Replied Kay-Si.
"Well he should know by now that he's too young to get married OR have
children." Said Steppenwolf.
"Yeah, I told him that. I'm just not sure if he was listening to me or
not."
Said Kay-Si.
"Well, for his sake, he better have been listening." Said Steppenwolf.
Meanwhile, Moonwatcher was finally at Molly-Ca's house. Molly-Ca had
given
him her address, and now all he had to do was ring the doorbell. He
went up
the steps and rang it. He saw a deep-red female echidna standing before
him.
It was Molly-Ca's mother, Jessie-Ca.
"Oh, you must be Molly's little friend. I've heard alot about you. Do
come
in." Said Jessie-Ca politely.
"Thanks." Said Moonwatcher, entering the fancy house.
"Oh, there you are, Moonwatcher!" Said Molly-Ca running up to him.
"Wow! I never knew you had such a fancy house!" Said Moonwatcher,
looking
around.
"Yeah it's traditional in our family. We like the rich-look." Said
Molly-Ca
to Moonwatcher.
"Well you sure dont make any mistakes on that." Said Moonwatcher.
"Thanks. Why dont you come to my room? I want to show ya it." Said
Molly-Ca,
batting her eyes.
"Suh-sure." Said Moonwatcher stunningly.
When they got to Molly-Ca's room, Moonwatcher was fascinated. Her room
was
nothing like the other rooms. It was trashy and definatly didn't look
fancy.
"Why isn't your room rich-looking like all the other rooms in your
house?"
Asked Moonwatcher.
"I dont like fancy. It bothers me. I dont want to be a rich snob, I
want to
be an average person. Of course, we're not really rich, my family just
makes
it look like we are. But I dont even like that! All day people say:
Look!
There's the rich snob, Molly-Ca! Stear clear of her! Rich snobs are no
fun.
They just brag about all their glamour."
"Well, I certainly dont say that! I dont think your a rich snob. I
think your
a beautiful seven-year-old!" Said Moonwatcher.
"Eight in two months." Said Molly-Ca happily.
"Yeah, well I dont think your a snob. Nothing bad could ever go with
you!
Your as good as gold, your beautyful!" Said Moonwatcher.
"Thanks. If only that were true." Said Molly-Ca.
"It is! This proves it!" Said Moonwatcher.
"What proves it?" Asked Molly-Ca confusingly.
"This!" Said Moonwatcher, starting to kiss Molly-Ca.
"Hey! Why'd you do that for?!" Asked a stunned Molly-Ca.
"Because I love you! And I think your the most beautiful creature on
the
planet!" Said Moonwatcher.
"Eeeeeew! Moonwatcher, I'm practically eight, and your already eight!
We're
too young to be getting into, ick, love and romance! Before you kiss a
girl,
make sure she thinks the same way about you, too!" Said Molly-Ca.
"But, Molly-Ca, I see my parents do that all the time!" Said
Moonwatcher
confusingly.
"Of course you see your parents do that, they're married! They wouldn't
be
married if they didn't think the same way about each other. But us,
we're not
married, and we haven't even gone on a date yet! Didn't your mother
ever tell
you not to rush into things?" Said Molly-Ca.
"Well, actually, she did." Said Moonwatcher.
"Then why dont you listen to her advice, before you get yourself into
trouble
one day!" Said Molly-Ca.
"I'm sorry, Molly-Ca. I should've listened to my mother and not rush
into
things. I should've listened. I'm sorry, Molly-Ca, that wont happen
again."
Said Moonwatcher.
"Moonwatcher, your lucky I'm your friend. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be
forgiving you for what you just done!" Said Molly-Ca.
"Sorry, Molly. Maybe this wasn't the right time to come over. I'll
leave now,
I guess. Bye." Said Moonwatcher, heading out the door.
Molly-Ca didn't say another word.
Moonwatcher walked out of the house. Now my heart is broke into itsy,
bitsy
pieces! I've never felt so unhappy in my life, ever. I have a broken
heart,
because Molly-Ca doesn't love me like I love her. I never want to see
another
female ever again! My mother is an acception, since she's my mom, but I
dont
want to see any females that aren't related to me ever again! And I
dont want
to get married, ever! Maybe that'll help, so that my heart wont feel as
broken. Thought Moonwatcher.
Moonwatcher ran and ran from that house, tears streaming down his
cheeks.
When he got to his own home, he stopped in his tracks before going in.
What if mom and dad get mad at me because I didn't listen to mom's
advice?
I'd feel even more hurt! Thought Moonwatcher. I have no choice but
to... run
away!
Moonwatcher ran and ran and ran. He didn't want any body to find him.
Finally, he found the perfect place to stay;the island's forest!
He ran in the forest and tryed to find the perfect place to stay. He
found an
empty cave, and he decided it was perfect. He walked in and layed down.
He
was exhuasted from all that running.
Meanwhile, back at Moonwatcher's house, Kay-Si was getting worried.
Where is he? He should've been back by now. It's getting dark! Thought
Kay-Si.
Just then, Steppenwolf came in.
"Is he back yet?" He asked his worried wife.
"No. I'm starting to worry about him." Said Kay-Si.
"Well it is getting dark. We should call Molly-Ca's number and tell him
it's
time to come home." Said Steppenwolf.
"But we dont know Molly-Ca's phone number." Said Kay-Si.
"As guardian of the floating island, I know everybody that lives on the
floating island's phone number." Said Steppenwolf.
"Yes, of course." Said Kay-Si.
Steppenwolf found Molly-Ca's phone number and dialed it. Molly-Ca's
mother,
Jessie-Ca, answered the phone.
"Yes? This is the Bils residence. Jessie-Ca Bils speaking." Said
Jessie-Ca.
"Mrs.Bils, this is the guardian of the floating island." Said
Steppenwolf.
"Ah, Steppeenwolf?" Said Jessie-Ca.
"Yes, and thats Steppenwolf, not Stepeenwolf. I would like to speak
with my
son." Said Steppenwolf.
"Oh, you mean young Moonwatcheer?" Said Jessie-Ca.
"Yes, and his name is Moonwatcher." Said Steppenwolf, starting to get
irritated.
"Yes, well, I thought he left for your house hours ago. I saw him go
out the
door." Said Jessie-Ca.
"What? He didn't come home?" Asked Steppenwolf.
"Well, I dont know what has become of him after that, sorry I couldn't
be of
more help, Mistair guardian." Said Jessie-Ca.
"My, you have an accent. Well, thanks anyway. Bye." Said Steppenwolf.
"Bye Mistair guardian Steppeenwolf." Said Jessie-Ca.
"Bye. And it's STEPPENWOLF!" Said Steppenwolf, putting down the phone.
"Well?" Wondered Kay-Si.
"No luck. Moonwatcher isn't there." Said Steppenwolf.
"What?" Said Kay-Si, shocked.
"Jessie-Ca said he went home. Only he didn't, because he isn't here."
Said
Steppenwolf.
"Then where is he?" Asked Kay-Si.
"I have no idea, honey, but we are going to find him. C'mon, we'll go
look
for him. We know he's somewhere on the island, he's too smart to be
stupid
enough fall off the island, so dont worry about that." Said
Steppenwolf.
Steppenwolf and his wife Kay-Si went looking for their son out in the
bitter
cold. Both of their dreadlocks were blowing in the wind like crazy, it
was
pretty windy out.
Meanwhile, back in the forest, Moonwatcher was trying to get to sleep.
But he
couldn't;he was too cold, and he had an empty stomach. He didn't eat
anything
today! He started to cry. He wanted to go back home really bad, but he
was
afraid of what his parents would tell him. He tryed to get as warm as
possible in the empty, freezing cold cave he was in. He cryed, he
missed his
parents. But he couldn't go back, he was afraid his parents wouldn't
like him
any more, just like Molly-Ca.
But he couldn't shake the feeling of coldness in his body, and he
couldn't
shake his hungry feeling, either. He decided to go outside and try to
find
some food and something warm to cover him up.
Then, he was in luck;he found an orange tree! He loved oranges. He
jumped and
jumped until his hand finally grabbed an orange. He pulled it and he
fell
onto the ground, but it was a success, because he was holding the
orange in
his hand!
Now he had to find something to cover him up. But that, however, wasn't
as
successful as the food. He sighed. One out of two isn't that bad. He
thought.
Atleast one of his irritations would be satisfied.
Meanwhile, Steppenwolf and Kay-Si were still looking for their missing
son.
They decided to look in the forest, since that was the only place they
haven't looked yet. And they found a good sign;orange peels!
Moonwatcher's
parents knew he loved oranges. Maybe the orange peels were his! Which,
as we
know, they are.
"Moonwatcher!" His parents yelled for him.
Back in the cave, Moonwatcher heard his parents yelling for him.
They're
looking for me! I want so badly to rush out there and meet up with
them, so I
can go back home where it's not freezing cold, and where there's plenty
of
food, and where there's comfort... but I'm just afraid that they wont
like me
for what I've done! But if they didn't like me.. then they wouldn't be
looking for me, right? Oh, I dont want to stay in this cave any longer!
I'm
going out there! Thought Moonwatcher.
"Mom! Dad!" He said, rushing out of the cave.
"Moonwatcher!" His parents said, running up to him.
"Oh, mom, dad, I'm so sorry I've been bad! I'm so sorry I didn't take
your
advice, mom! I rushed into things when you told me not to;I kissed
Molly-Ca!
And she didn't like it! And then my heart got broke and I ran away,
thinking
you wouldn't like me either! Oh I'm so sorry! I really am! Just please
take
me home!" Said Moonwatcher.
"Of course we'll take you home! We love you, darling!" Said Kay-Si.
"And you should have listened to your mom's advice.. but everyone makes
mistakes. You have no reason to think we wont love you." Said
Steppenwolf.
"Thanks." Said Moonwatcher.
And after that, they all went home, Moonwatcher's parents happy that
they've
found him, and Moonwatcher happy that his parents didn't hate him.
THE END
