It Takes Three By: SnowPuppy Soon after the woods bit(see my last fanfic, "The Dangerous Journey", for more information!), the family of three calmed down, after awhile. One beautiful night, when the full moon was out, Moonwatcher was sitting on the couch writing in his Memory Book, Kay-Si was reading a book, and Steppenwolf was out doing his job, as usual. Kay-Si glanced over her shoulder at the clock, and noticed it said 8:30PM. Steppenwolf would be coming in in thirty minutes to go to bed. Moonwatcher stopped writing in his Memory Book and closed it. He noticed that the clock said 8:30PM, also. "Mom, I'm going to go to bed now, okay?" Moonwatcher said. "Okay, hon." Replied Kay-Si. Moonwatcher then went in his room and put his Memory Book back on his desk. By the time he was ready for bed, it was already 9:00PM. Moonwatcher heard his dad come in for bed. And he knew that his mother would be going to bed, also. So he just climbed in bed himself and stared into space for awhile, then fell fast asleep. When he awoke it was time for him and Steppenwolf to go on guard duty. He jumped out of bed and got ready for the day. He quickly ate his breakfast and rushed outside. "Aren't you forgeting something?" Kay-Si shouted back at him. "Oh yeah!" Said Moonwatcher, running back. Kay-Si followed him into the kitchen. "What are you doing?" She asked him. "Getting my lunch." Moonwatcher replied, taking some ripe oranges from the orange bowl. "Yes, but what else are you forgeting, honey?" Kay-Si asked him. "Oh! How could I forget! Sorry, mom! Goodbye! Love ya!" Said Moonwatcher, running out the door again. Kay-Si shook her head at him and shut the open door. Kay-Si sighed and continued on through her day. When Steppenwolf and Moonwatcher came in for a break, Kay-Si put out more oranges, she knew what was coming. Moonwatcher grabbed more oranges from the orange bowl. "Sweetheart, if you keep eating all these oranges your going to turn into one." Said Kay-Si. "Oh mom! No I wont!" Said Moonwatcher. Kay-Si sighed and went into her and her husband's room. She sighed, collapsing on the bed and looking up at the ceiling. Then she saw something appear before her, and she moved back in shock. It was an angel! "It's okay, Kay-Si. I'm here to help you." Said the angel. "Help me? On.. what?" Kay-Si asked. "Your family is in great danger, Kay-Si. They have come, and they aren't going to stop until they get what they want. This is the battle for life, Kay-Si. It's coming. You must be prepared." Said the angel. "What? What's coming?" Kay-Si asked. "They are coming.. to attack your family. Be brave, Kay-Si. You can get through this, I know you can." Said the angel. "But... what? Whats happening?" Kay-Si asked with most fear. "All I can tell you is that you must be prepared for battle. There is a terrible threat to the island. Be brave, Kay-Si, be brave..." Said the angel, then she disappeared as quickly as she came. What that angel told her had shocked her. Should she tell her family about what the angel had said? If a threat was coming to the island, they had every right to know. Kay-Si then decided that when they came in for their next break, she would tell them the shocking news. But before they came in, Kay-Si had a terrifying vision, she never in her life had had a vision before, and this was her first time... but it was a very horrible first vision. In her vision she was watching people with guns kill her family before her very eyes. Then she saw a bullet come at her. And that was the end of her vision. It scared her, it scared her deeply. She didn't know what was happening. She fell on the floor and started to cry silently. She heard the angel's voice: This is what will happen if you and your family aren't prepared, Kay-Si. You will all be killed if your not! Tell your family, so you CAN be prepared. If you dont, all will be lost, Kay-Si. And they will take over the island. Be brave, Kay-Si. You must be brave. Kay-Si then decided that the only thing she could do was tell her family. They would all have to be brave together. She didn't want them all to die. Then she heard the door. The time has come for her to tell them the shocking news. "Whats wrong?" Asked Steppenwolf, noticing the tears in his wife's eyes. She then told both Steppenwolf and Moonwatcher the whole story. They all three knew that the angel was right, and they had to be prepared if something terrible like that was coming. Day after day went by, and they were prepared for anything. But so far, nothing has happened. But they all knew that they couldn't go off guard, because that might just be what the enemy was waiting for them to do. One day, at breakfast, a bullet shot through the window. Luckily, the bullet missed and no one was hurt. Kay-Si shivered in fright. It has come;the terrible thing that the angel told her about has come. It was here. She just didn't know if she was brave enough to face this enemy just yet. But she knew she had to. She didn't want her vision that she had had to become reality. Then she went out, and faced their enemy for the first time. It was Henrie(read the fanfic "Life Isn't Always Easy" for more information on Henrie!) and a few other guys. They were all holding guns and pointing them at Kay-Si, Steppenwolf, and Moonwatcher. When they pulled the trigger they found out that their guns weren't working. "What did you do to our guns?!? Oh, no matter! Bring out the rest of the crew!" Henrie shouted over his shoulder. His friends nodded and called other people there. There was about twenty people there, all surrounding Kay-Si, Steppenwolf, and Moonwatcher. "You three are going to pay for what you did! We're going to kill you three, then the island will be free for us to take over. We will have no mercy on you three! Never! Okay, men, get ready to fire!" Said Henrie evilly. "Dont! Dont do it!" Kay-Si shouted out. "Why wouldn't we?" Asked Henrie. "Because it's not right! We haven't done anything to you! You shouldn't kill for fun! It's not right! Dont do it!" Said Kay-Si. "Yeah right, lady! You've done something to me. Well, atleast your husband has. He did something with my father! And now your all going to pay! It doesn't matter if you or your son didn't do anything to me, you are still on the guardian's side, and we must take out all who are!" Said Henrie. "Your crazy, Henrie!" Said Kay-Si upsettingly. "Crazy? I think not, lady!" Said Henrie, pointing the gun to Kay-Si's chest. Kay-Si swallowed hard with fear. Then she remembered what the angel had said. She had to be brave. "I'm not afraid of you!" She said. "Well you should be afraid! How would you like to be the first one to die?" Said Henrie, smirking. "Hey, you leave my mother alone!" Moonwatcher shouted at Henrie. "Tough talk coming from the squirt, eh?" Said Henrie. "You leave both my wife and son alone!" Said Steppenwolf, finally saying something. "Why should we? Oh, before you can attack us, why dont you take a nap?" Said Henrie, hitting the gun against Steppenwolf's head. He fell on the ground. Kay-Si and Moonwatcher both gasped. "You cant do that to my father!" Said Moonwatcher angrily. "I already did, pipsqueek. Pretty soon you two will be on the ground as well." Said Henrie delightfully. "You wont get away with this! I wont let you!" Said Kay-Si. "Can it, lady!" Said Henrie. Kay-Si didn't know she did, but she had slapped Henrie right accross the face. "Your going to pay for that!" Said Henrie. What Henrie and his men didn't notice was that Steppenwolf had opened his eyes. He had recovered from the rough fall he had taken. Kay-Si quickly noticed this. And not long after, Moonwatcher caught on and noticed that his dad was alright. "Maybe you should watch your back instead of bragging about how tough you are." Said Kay-Si with a smile. "Very funny, lady. And what are you smiling about? There's nothing to smile about when your about to be dead." Said Henrie. "Thats what you think." Said Kay-Si. "If you think a female and her young inexperienced son is tougher than us, you got another thing coming." Said Henrie. "Why dont you think again. I mean, there are three of us, not two of us." Said Kay-Si, giving Henrie a little hint. "YOU better think again, female. Your husband is down and out, or haven't you noticed? Are you trying to trick me into running off, is that it? Well if you are, it's certainly not working!" Said Henrie. Kay-Si then noticed that there was a small pool of green light laying in Steppenwolf's hands. She wasn't quite sure what he was about to do, but if it would help get rid of Henrie and the rest of his crew, she hoped that it worked. Steppenwolf then looked at her and whispered something. She watched the movement of his lips and figured out what he was saying. He was telling her to shut her eyes tightly and keep them shut until he said that she could open them. Kay-Si told Moonwatcher to do the same, and they both closed their eyes. Kay-Si knew something was happening, but Steppenwolf had told her to keep her eyes shut, so she kept them shut. Then she heard Steppenwolf's voice, finally. She then opened her eyes and there was no sign of Henrie or the other "overlander" guys. "What happened?" She asked. "Well, the reason why I told you to close your eyes was because what I did burnt their eyes, and once it burned their eyes it started to burn their whole body. They agreed to leave and never return. If you hadn't closed your eyes, it would've burned you, too." Replied Steppenwolf. "Oh." Said Kay-Si. "But I couldn't have done it without you two." Said Steppenwolf. "Why? What'd we do?" Asked Kay-Si. "You and Moonwatcher both distracted Henrie so he wouldn't notice me. Without you two at my side, I dont think I could've saved the island. But I did, because of the wonderful family I have." Said Steppenwolf. "Hey, yeah! And, guess what a good description for today is!" Said Moonwatcher. "What?" His parents asked him. "Well, instead of It Takes Two, it's it takes three!" Said Moonwatcher happily. "Yeah, your certainly right, Moonwatcher!" Said Kay-Si. They then walked back home to relax. It had been a long day and they all needed some rest. "Mom, do you think I should add what happened today in my Memory Book?" Asked Moonwatcher when they got home. "Well, if you want, but I thought it was suppose to be all about the memories you and Tray-Si shared." Said Kay-Si. "It was, but we didn't share a whole lotta memories. After all, she only stayed with us for about six months. I think I should change the name." Said Moonwatcher. "To what?" Kay-Si asked. "To... "The Memories Me and My Family Share"!" Said Moonwatcher. "I dont know, Moonwatcher. Dont you think that is a little long?" Said Kay-Si. "Okay.. how about "Family Memories"?" Asked Moonwatcher. "Okay, now thats better." Said Kay-Si. They both laughed and Moonwatcher changed the title of his once "Memory Book". He then added a brief description of what had happened today;he didn't really want to remember all that happened today, so he just put in the part about his dad taking out Henrie. Kay-Si laughed when she read Moonwatcher's new entry in the "Family Memories" book and hugged her son tightly. "That's a really cute description of today! It's exactly what happened!" Said Kay-Si with a smile. This is what Moonwatcher wrote: Today meany Henrie was going to attack us, but he had another thing coming! My dad made him sorry! I dont think he'll ever be disturbing us again! My dad is like Superman, except instead he's Superechidna! Until next time, Moonwatcher Steppenwolf also read Moonwatcher's little description and bursted up laughing like Kay-Si had. "I'm really Superechidna?!" He said. "Yes you are!" Said Moonwatcher happily. "It's true, he is." Said Kay-Si. After that, they were just fine, and safe, for the time being.
