Steppenwolf's Girl :)
By: SnowPuppy

There was once a girl... named Kay-Si(ME!!!!! Though its really spelt
Kasey,
my name has to be like an echidna's, since in this story I am one!!)
and she
had a huge crush on Steppenwolf. (Kinda like the last story, about the
girl
named Terri-Sa, except Kay-Si's wish comes true, unlike Terri-Sa's
almost
did, and without putting the other guardians out of existance! Since it
never
said who Steppenwolf's wife really was, I made it to be Kay-Si! No,
Kay-Si
isn't related to Terri-Sa.)
She was peacefully taking a stroll on the island. She had been walking
for a
while, so she decided to stop and rest. She thought of her dreams to
marry
Steppenwolf. Though, they hadn't come true yet, and Kay-Si hasn't even
met
him yet!!
She was hoping she'd run into him, since that was the reason she was
taking a
stroll on the island in the first place, because she was looking for
him. She
could've sworn her heart had skipped a beat while thinking about him.
She thought of them marrying and having children. She thought of
several ways
they could meet. She looked in the sky, daydreaming, and what else
about, but
the guy she had a crush on.
But to her, it was much more than a crush. It was a HUGE crush. She
had been
in love with him for months. But with the good, came the bad, and she
began
to think that Steppenwolf wouldn't like her. She began to think that
when she
met him she would be the only one in love... and that Steppenwolf would
never
feel any love for her.
Her eyes blinked and her nose twitched at the thought. She took a deep
breath, and got up. She decided she would go searching for Steppenwolf
again.. maybe she would run into him this time.
But as she walked, it got darker. Day was turning into night. She began
to
feel sleepy, and she rubbed her eyes. She yawned, and thought I'll find
Steppenwolf in the morning, I'm too tired right now. She searched for a
good
place to sleep for the night. She found a nice pile of leaves, and
layed down
in them. She stretched and looked at the now-dark sky for a moment,
then shut
her eyes and went to sleep.
Later on in the night, she woke up from her sleep. Huh? She thought,
It's not
even morning yet. What am I doing awake? That question crossed her
mind. She
blinked, and wondered what time it was. She looked at her watch. 4:00
AM! She
thought, What am I doing up this early? But no matter how hard she
tryed,
her body refused to go back to sleep. This is odd, she thought, I dont
usually have trouble getting back to sleep, well sometimes, but I
haven't
recently. She got up from the pile of leaves. One quick thought hit her
mind:
I bet the reason why I can't get to sleep is because my mind has been
mostly
on Steppenwolf! But she didn't feel tired, either. So this was most
unusual,
because usually when she can't get back to sleep she's still tired. But
this
time she wasn't.
She decided to just get up, because it wouldn't help much just laying
there
in that pile of leaves. So she got up. Well, I cant look for
Steppenwolf now,
she thought, he's probably not even awake yet. But she got up anyway,
since
she couldn't get back to sleep. She took a morning walk, in the dark.
This is
so creepy! She thought, I absolutly HATE walking alone in the dark! But
what
Kay-Si didn't know was, she wasn't alone. Steppenwolf had found her.
What
Kay-Si didn't know was, that Steppenwolf got up early for duty.
Steppenwolf
thought her an enemy at first, because he never seen her around before.
Kay-Si heard something behind her. She barely turned her head, and then
glanced over her shoulder. She saw a figure moving in the darkness. It
looked like a figure of an echidna. Kay-Si's heart sang.
What if it's Steppenwolf? Thought the exicited Kay-Si, Though I dont
know
what he is doing up this early, I sure hope it's him!
But Kay-Si didn't know that she shouldn't be hoping. Right now
Steppenwolf
was the last echidna Kay-Si needed to come encountered with. For
Steppenwolf
wasn't dropping by to greet Kay-Si, he was planning to do a surprise
attack
on her, for he thought she was a dark legionnaire, for its hard to tell
whats
what in the dark.
But it WAS Steppenwolf. Kay-Si stood still, because she really wanted
to meet
him. But she didn't know that she should be running, not stopping. Then
she
heard a voice, only she could hear.
Kay-Si, listen, and listen quick, said the voice, that IS Steppenwolf,
and
you must run!
Why? Thought Kay-Si, If I run I may never get to meet him.
Believe me, Steppenwolf is the last person you want to encounter, Said
the
voice, he isn't here to greet you to the island. He is planning to do
a
surprise attack on you, because he thinks your an enemy. He dont know
that
you aren't, because it's hard to tell whats what in the dark, and you
know
that. And you also know that you DONT want to get attacked by
Steppenwolf! So
run, run why you still have the chance...!
The voice was confusing her by the minute. She didn't know where the
voice
was coming from. All she knew was she better make up her mind and act
fast,
because Steppenwolf was getting closer and closer by the minute.
She decided to trust her instincts, and run, no matter how much she
wanted to
meet Steppenwolf. She definatly DIDN'T want to get attacked by him, and
what
that voice said DID make sence.
She ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She breathed hard, and
felt like
she needed to stop. She was running so fast, that she got tired only a
few
minutes after she began to run. She felt her legs stop below her. She
tryed
to catch her breath, she felt like passing out. Oh, well I'm probably
way
past Steppenwolf by now, she thought, he's probably still back there
and he's
probably gave up. But Kay-Si certainly knew better. Steppenwolf wasn't
one to
give up. She fell on her hands and knees, breathing hardly, then she
heard a
voice behind her.
"You have some explaining to do."
She gasped. It was Steppenwolf's voice!
She wondered how in the world Steppenwolf had caught up with her, but
there
was no time for that. She turned around and faced Steppenwolf for the
first
time in her life.
Steppenwolf's eyes turned big. He then noticed that this echidna was a
girl.
But he wasn't going off his guard.
"Well...?" He said after getting impatient.
"Ummm... what?" Kay-Si said, after thinking about what to say.
"Explain!" Said Steppenwolf.
"Explain what?" Said Kay-Si.
"What your doing here." Said Steppenwolf, starting to get annoyed.
"That's easy. I came here to see what it was like. I mean no harm, no
harm at
all." Said Kay-Si, hoping Steppenwolf would believe her at her word.
Steppenwolf's frown turned to a half-smile.
"Okay... but if I ever find out otherwise, you will wish you have never
met
me." Said Steppenwolf, looking straight at Kay-Si.
"Yes, yes.. I understand. By the way, my name is Kay-Si." Said Kay-Si.
"Okay, and you probably know that I'm Steppenwolf." Said Steppenwolf.
"Yes, I've heard about you." Said Kay-Si.
"Sorry for chasing you, I didn't mean to frighten you, just doing my
job,
thats all." Said Steppenwolf.
"Yes, I perfectly understand." Said Kay-Si, looking at Steppenwolf with
puppydog-eyes.
"Well, I better go." Said Steppenwolf.
We just met, and now he wants to leave?! He doesn't like me! I knew it!
Thought Kay-Si, her eye's swelling with tears.
Wait! Was the only word that came accross Kay-Si's mind, but what she
didn't
know was that she had said that word aloud.
"What is it?" Asked Steppenwolf, looking back at her.
Oh, what am I going to do! I can't tell him that I love him right now!
It's
not time yet! What am I going to say?! Thought Kay-Si.
"I.... I'm lost. All that running got me lost and now I dont know where
to
go." Said Kay-Si, thinking up a fast excuse.
"Well, I'll take you back, and you can find your way home from there."
Said
Steppenwolf.
"Okay." Said Kay-Si, shrugging.
Steppenwolf grabbed her hand, and led her back through the darkness.
He's holding my hand! He's holding my hand! Maybe he does like me after
all!
Thought Kay-Si, but she knew that the reason why Steppenwolf was
holding her
hand was probably because he didn't want her to get lost in the
darkness.
Right then and there, she thought her heart had skipped two beats. She
was
quivering all over inside. But she tryed her best to not let
Steppenwolf feel
her quivering, because he would probably start suspecting that Kay-Si
had a
crush on him, which she did.
She felt like she couldn't feel her insides, and that her heart had
stopped
beating, and her throat was dry. She was actually holding Steppenwolf's
hand!
She knew Steppenwolf was only leading her out of the darkness, but she
tryed
her best to make that moment last. She squeezed Steppenwolf's hand, not
even
knowing she was doing so.
"Hey, can you loosen the grip?" Said Steppenwolf, noticing Kay-Si's
grip on
his hand was getting firmer by the minute.
"Oh, sorry." Said Kay-Si, now noticing her tight grip on Steppenwolf's
hand.
Kay-Si carefully loosened her grip. She swallowed a hard swallow.
That was close! Even though I love Steppenwolf and want him to know one
day,
this isn't the time for him to know. I have to wait awhile before
telling
him. Thought Kay-Si.
She then noticed that they were almost out of the darkness. Kay-Si's
moment
of glory with Steppenwolf was almost over. Soon their hands would let
go of
each other, and Steppenwolf would leave Kay-Si to go about her
business.
Kay-Si heard something. But Steppenwolf wasn't making the sound.
Someone else
was there with them.
Kay-Si heard something, and felt something piercing into her back. Then
everything went black. She was not aware of what was going on around
her, she
was unconscious.
When she woke up, she seen Steppenwolf look down at her. She also
noticed
that she was laying in a puddle of blood;her own blood.
"Your alive!" She heard Steppenwolf say.
Kay-Si's eyes grew big by the time she learned what was going on.
Somebody
had shot her!
"It's a miracle! I didn't think you would survive, or even awaken until
we
got you to a medic." Said Steppenwolf.
"What happened...?" Asked Kay-Si. She knew somebody had shot her, but
she
just didn't know who. She was hoping that Steppenwolf knew.
"I don't know specifically who it was, but I do know that he was a dark
legionnaire, and that he was trying to shoot me, but accidently shot
you
instead." Said Steppenwolf.
Luckily it was me and not Steppenwolf! I wouldn't know what to do if he
was
the one that got shot. Thought Kay-Si. By now, the pain in her back was
growing stronger. She didn't know how much more of this she could take.
"My father, Edmund, was in the same situation as you. He got shot by a
dark
legionnaire, too, but the only difference was he didn't survive. I was
afraid I was going to go through the same thing all over again." Said
Steppenwolf.
"Okay, but right now, I'd rather be dead than feeling this intense
pain!"
Said Kay-Si.
"Yes, we better get a medic here. You are in need of some serious
medical
attention, because at any time you could pass out and die." Said
Steppenwolf,
looking worried.
We barely met, and he's worried about me! Maybe he does like me!
Thought
Kay-Si, with a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
Steppenwolf got the medics there. The medics done all they could for
Kay-Si.
The medics told Steppenwolf that Kay-Si needed lots of rest, and also,
not to
let her stress herself, because the pain could come back easily.
Steppenwolf decided to look after her. He took care of her the best he
could,
and every day Kay-Si seemed even more convinced that Steppenwolf really
did
like her.
It takes an accident to realize you love someone, Thought Kay-Si, and
Steppenwolf is living proof of that.
She looked at Steppenwolf who was sitting down reading a book. She
smiled at
him. She only wished that she wasn't hurt, so that they could go on
their
first date.
Weeks after weeks passed by, and soon Kay-Si was feeling much better.
Her
back healed, and Steppenwolf looked at her in amazement.
"It's amazing that you survived that powerful shot, and my father
didn't.
It's amazing that you even healed!" Said Steppenwolf with a smile on
his face.
Kay-Si smiled back. Then she heard that same voice that she heard that
one
night when her and Steppenwolf first met.
You survived, because you loved.
Kay-Si put on a confused face. Huh?
You didn't die because you hung on to your love for Steppenwolf. Your
love
kept you from dying. It also healed you. You didn't give up, so you
lived.
You fought death, and have won.
Kay-Si was getting more confused by the minute, for she had no clue
where
this voice was coming from.
"What is it?" Asked Steppenwolf, now noticing Kay-Si's confused look.
"It's this voice." Said Kay-Si.
"Voice?" Wondered Steppenwolf.
"Yes. It speaks to me every now and then. It gives me advice... though
I dont
know where its coming from." Said Kay-Si.
"Advice?" Asked Steppenwolf.
"Yes. Like the time it told me you were planning to do a surprise
attack on
me when you thought I was a dark legionnaire. And just now, when it
told me I
didn't die because I hung on to love... and that I fought death and
have
won." Said Kay-Si.
"Thats really amazing, Kay-Si..." Said Steppenwolf.
"I know, you dont believe me. Go ahead. Laugh." Said Kay-Si, her eyes
starting to swell up with tears like the time she thought Steppenwolf
didn't
like her.
"No! I believe you! I believe in those kind of things. I totally
believe you,
okay?" Said Steppenwolf, holding up Kay-Si's chin so their eyes met.
"Okay." Said Kay-Si, nodding her head.
After that, Kay-Si and Steppenwolf started to go on dates. They were
soon
known as boyfriend and girlfriend. Kay-Si was happy with excitement.
Her
dreams were finally coming true!
After all the dates that they've had, Steppenwolf had to have a talk
with
Kay-Si about something.
"What is it?" Asked a curious Kay-Si.
"I need to ask you something.. I know its kind of sudden.. but I
believe its
the right time." Said Steppenwolf, looking straight at Kay-Si.
"What?" Wondered Kay-Si.
Kay-Si then thought of something terrible. What if he wants to dump me?
Her
eyes looked straight at her boyfriend, wondering what it was that was
on his
mind.
Steppenwolf took a small box, and Kay-Si soon noticed it as a jewelry
box.
Kay-Si's heart sang with joy.
What if he's about to propose to me? Oooh, I sure hope thats it! I've
been
wanting to marry him for so long. She thought, staring at the little
box in
the middle of Steppenwolf's hand.
Steppenwolf opened it, to reveal a beautiful, sparkly ring right in the
center of the box. He knelt down. He WAS proposing to Kay-Si!!
"Will you marry me?" He asked.
Kay-Si's eye's flew wide open. "Yes! Yes, I will! I will!" Said an
excited
Kay-Si, with most joy.
At that moment, they both looked at each other. And without warning,
they
both kissed. And Kay-Si just couldn't believe what was happening! To
that
lonely day, a long, long time ago, when she was alone walking in the
darkness, to this glorious day when Steppenwolf proposed to her!
The wedding day was decided. It would be on Kay-Si's birthday,
Steppenwolf
insisted.
Later on, a month before the wedding, and two months after Steppenwolf
had
proposed to her, Kay-Si was in the bathroom, brushing her echidna-hair.
Steppenwolf was busy looking for a wedding dress for her. So he wasn't
there
at this moment. Kay-Si put the brush down, and smiled in the mirror.
Only one more month until the wedding! I still can't believe I'm
getting
married to Steppenwolf! I still can't believe it! Wishes really do come
true.
She thought. Then she heard a familiar voice;the same voice she had
heard
when Steppenwolf and her first met, and the same voice she heard when
she and
Steppenwolf were wondering how she had survived that gunshot.
You must get out of here. You must. You will die if you dont. You must
rush
outside. Go. Or you will die, and your whole future with Steppenwolf
will die
as well. Go! Go, before its too late!!
Kay-Si's face scrunched up, making a confused face. It's that voice
again!
But why does it want me to get out? Everythings fine, perfect, and
dandy! She
thought.
No! Nothing is fine, perfect, or dandy! Everything has gone wrong! You
may
not know it now, but it has. Now get out, before you die and never ever
get
to marry Steppenwolf. Your whole future will be gone with the wind if
you
dont.
Kay-Si wondered what the voice met. Everything seemed fine. Though, the
voice
has never been wrong before, so she decided to follow its advice and
get out.
When she walked out of the bathroom, her eyes grew big as she saw what
the
voice met.
The whole place was on fire! Kay-Si didn't know what to do as she
looked into
the big, orange flames.
The fire was trapping her. There was no way she could get out. She fell
on
the floor and cryed, as she knew her life would soon be over, and she
would
never marry Steppenwolf, and all her hopes and dreams would never come
true.
Just then, she heard footsteps.
Oh, Steppenwolf must be back! Thank goodness, maybe he can do something
about
this! Then again, maybe he cant. Maybe he should get out while he still
can,
before the flames swallow him up, too.
Steppenwolf turned the knob, and opened the door. He looked at the
flames as
wide-eyed as Kay-Si did when she first saw them.
"Dont worry, I wont let the flames take you, Kay-Si! I will have you
out of
here in no time." He said to her.
"Steppenwolf.... you must.. save.. yourself.." Said Kay-Si, now
starting to
pass out because of the smoke surrounding her.
"No, I wont leave you!" Kay-Si heard Steppenwolf say.
Kay-Si was still half-awake, but she wasn't aware of anything that was
going
on around her.
Steppenwolf moved his hands in circles as green emerald light blew the
flames
away. Kay-Si had forgotten that Steppenwolf posessed the power of the
Chaos
Emerald.
Kay-Si was still laying down on the floor, for the smoke had not left
her
lungs. She was breathing hard, trying to catch the fresh air that now
surrounded her.
"Are you alright?" Asked Steppenwolf.
"I think so." Said Kay-Si, now recieving back her memory and noticing
what
was now going on.
"Well just in case, you should see a medic." Said Steppenwolf, feeling
Kay-Si's heartbeat, which was going faster than usual.
Kay-Si got up, but felt dizzy. She fell back down, with a hard thud.
She then
noticed that she was far from "alright". She was in need of some
serious
medical attention.
When the medic had the results, she came to tell Steppenwolf.
"Your girlfriend is doing quite well. But you must make sure that she
doesn't
participate in any activities that involve running, or any activity
that
would make her heart rate go up, for if it does, she could pass out,
like she
almost did there. But otherwise she's fine, the smoke has finally
disappeared
from her lungs." Said the medic.
"Thank goodness." Said Steppenwolf, stroking Kay-Si's now-matted
echidna-hair.
Soon, Kay-Si was feeling much better. The medics were astonished by
Kay-Si's
amazing recovery, just as they were the last time she recovered from
something that could be fatal.
"There's something about that girl." Said the head medic, Shirley-Li.
"What?" Asked Steppenwolf.
"It's amazing. She's recovered from two fatal accidents. It's amazing
how she
recovered.. I never seen anything like it." Said Shirley-Li.
"Well, she's just lucky, I guess." Said Steppenwolf, shrugging.
Kay-Si then remembered what the voice had said: Your love kept you from
dying.
Maybe it kept her from dying this time, too. So, as long as Kay-Si held
on to
her love for Steppenwolf, she wouldn't die, no matter how fatal the
accident.
She was amazed herself.
But what if Steppenwolf got in any danger? She thought, Even if he does
posess the powers of the emerald, one day he might not be able to react
in
time... I would just die if I lost him. I hope he can hang on to our
love,
too. I must tell him.
"Steppenwolf..." Said Kay-Si, looking at him.
"What is it?" He asked her.
"Remember what that voice said? Remember how I told you that...?"
Kay-Si told
him.
"Yes, I remember." Said Steppenwolf.
"Well.. I want to tell you to hold on to the love we have, like I do.
Maybe
it will protect us both, from dying." Said Kay-Si.
"Kay-Si... you know everybody dies one day." Said Steppenwolf.
"Yes, but what if its not time yet? If its not time, then the love will
protect us, and you have to hold on to it, to fight death, if you are
ever in
a fatal accident." Said Kay-Si.
"Dont worry, I will. And as long as it's not time for us to die, we
will be
alright.. okay?" Said Steppenwolf to Kay-Si.
"Yes." Said Kay-Si.
The days and weeks flew by, and soon it was Kay-Si and Steppenwolf's
wedding
day, also Kay-Si's birthday.
"We are finally going to be married." Said Kay-Si, looking at her
soon-to-be
husband.
"Yes." Said Steppenwolf.
After that, they both kissed, and went to get ready for the wedding.
Kay-Si danced around in her long, white, sparkly dress that Steppenwolf
had
got for her. The wedding would soon begin, and she was already getting
goosebumps.
When the wedding began, Kay-Si was quivering all over, much like the
time
when her and Steppenwolf were holding hands when they first met, so
long ago.
But when they were finally married, she wasn't quivering any more. They
had
already both said "I do", and they were already pronounced husband and
wife,
and now it was time for them to kiss. Kay-Si was happy at this.
They both kissed, and had cake, and had a wonderful time. When the
wedding
was over, they were both exhuasted. It had been a long night.
"Well, I cant believe it! We're finally married." Said Kay-Si.
"Yes, we are." Said Steppenwolf.
They were both very exhuasted, so they both went to sleep. Their
honeymoon
was in the morning.
They went to the island's beach for their honeymoon. They had a
terrific
time. Kay-Si and Steppenwolf's marriage was a happy one.
Two years after their honeymoon, Kay-Si was moping around. Steppenwolf
was
concerned. She didn't look happy, and something was definatly wrong.
"Whats wrong, dear?" He asked her.
"Oh, I dont know. I just can't help feeling somethings different.. like
I
dont feel like myself any more." Said Kay-Si.
Kay-Si then fell to the floor, which concerned Steppenwolf even more.
"You should see a medic." He told her.
When the medic came back with the results, Steppenwolf looked worried.
"Well...? How is she?" He wanted to know.
"It's good news!" Said the medic.
"She's alright. Good." Said Steppenwolf shaking off the worried look.
"Even better than that." Said the medic with a grin.
"What?" Asked Steppenwolf.
"Your wife is pregnant." The medic told Steppenwolf.
"Pregnant? You mean I'm going to be a father?" He asked.
"Yep." Said the medic.
When Kay-Si got to go home, they looked through name books to find a
perfect
name for their baby when it was born.
Finally they decided on names, and it wasn't easy.
"How about Tray-Si if it's a girl and Moonwatcher if it's a boy?" Asked
Steppenwolf.
"Umm... okay!" Said Kay-Si, finally agreeing at Steppenwolf's
suggestions.
Steppenwolf watched Kay-Si's movements carefully. He didn't want her to
stress herself.
"Be careful!" He told her.
"Don't worry about me. It's not like I'm going to die just because I'm
going
to get some water." Said Kay-Si heading for the kitchen.
"I think it would be better if I could get the water for you." Said
Steppenwolf.
"Oh, come on. It's just the kitchen." Said Kay-Si.
"I know, but you should rest. No arguing." Said Steppenwolf.
Kay-Si sighed. "Okay."
Kay-Si's stomach got bigger as months flew by. Soon she would be giving
birth. They always went to the hospital to check if the baby was doing
okay.
"Your baby is just fine. It should be born in about one more month. Be
easy
on yourself." Said the medic looking down at Kay-Si.
"I'm sure my husband will see to that." Said Kay-Si, knowing that
sometimes
Steppenwolf could be paranoid.
"Yes, I'm sure he will." Said the medic.
"Hows our baby?" Said Steppenwolf coming into the room.
"Your baby is just fine. Bring Kay-Si back in next month. She should be
giving birth to the baby by then." Said the medic.
As usual, Steppenwolf made sure Kay-Si took it easy. But then one day,
Kay-Si was alone in the house.. Steppenwolf had gone out for a while.
And
Kay-Si was ready to give birth.. and she wasn't suppose to be ready for
two
weeks.
Kay-Si needed her husband now more than ever. She didn't know what to
do. He
wasn't back yet.
Finally, Kay-Si heard a relieving sound.. the door. Steppenwolf was
finally
back.
"Are you alright?" Said Steppenwolf noticing the expression on Kay-Si's
face.
"No! I'm ready to give birth." Said Kay-Si.
"But your not suppose to be ready for two weeks." Said Steppenwolf.
"I know! But it looks like I'm ready now!" Said Kay-Si.
Steppenwolf rushed Kay-Si to the hospital. Sure enough, she was ready
to give
birth to the baby.
Kay-Si had a hard time doing this;since this was her firstborn. She
didn't
know anything about giving birth to a baby.
But after awhile, she had finished her part of giving birth. She
finally got
to rest.
The next step was waiting for the baby to hatch from its egg;for
everyone
knows that echidnas dont give live birth. Steppenwolf stroked Kay-Si's
echidna-hair while waiting for their baby to hatch.
Finally, after awhile, it did. The two parents watched in wonder as
their
newborn was hatched from the egg. Their new baby was a boy. Like they
said,
they called him Moonwatcher.
Steppenwolf picked up the newly-hatched echidna and handed him to
Kay-Si. She
cradled her newborn and cryed happily.
Now Steppenwolf and Kay-Si weren't a couple anymore;they were much more
than
that. They were now a family, thanks to Moonwatcher.
