Going Through Life By: SnowPuppy One evening, Kay-Si was sitting on the couch writing something. Her son, Moonwatcher, was curious as to what it was she was writing. "Mom, what are you writing about?" Asked Moonwatcher. "Well, ever since I was about five years old, I always wanted to write stories and become a writer. Though I really dont think I have a good chance of becoming one, I still like to write stories." Replied Kay-Si. "Oh. Well, you sure have been writing stories a long time if you started when you were five!" Said Moonwatcher astonishingly. "Yes, and I bet I have over one hundred stories written, too!" Said Kay-Si. "Oh. Well, mom, I'm fifteen now, so can't I go out on a date with Molly-Ca now?" Asked Moonwatcher, changing the subject. "Yes, you may." Said Kay-Si. "Yippee! And, maybe when I'm about seventeen or eighteen, I'll get married to her!" Said Moonwatcher excitingly. "Well, remember what I told you." Said Kay-Si. "Yeah, I know, dont rush into things." Said Moonwatcher. Kay-Si then heard a knock on the door, and went to go answer it. She opened the door and who she saw before her eyes shocked her. It was Felix! (For more information on "Felix", check out the fanfic "Life Isn't Always Easy".) She imidietly shut the door on him. But Felix opened it back up. "Hey, what'd you do that for?!" He shouted at her. "Because, I dont want you near here! Remember last time? Go away!" Said Kay-Si upsettingly. "Oh come on, darling!" Said Felix. "Dont call me darling!" Said Kay-Si. "I'll call you whatever I want!" Shouted Felix. "And whats that your holding in your hand?" Asked Kay-Si, soon noticing a vacuum-cleaner type object in Felix's hand. "Oh, this? This is the ChaosSucker2000. What it does is none of your business." Replied Felix. "Come on, Felix! What does it do?" Asked Kay-Si curiously. "Nothing good, ma'am. Atleast, nothing good for you." Said Felix. "That makes me want to know even more!" Said Kay-Si. "No, if I told you then you would try and save your husband. And, besides, have you ever heard of the saying, "curiousity killed the cat"?" Said Felix. "Yes, but I'm no cat! My husband?! What are you going to do to him?!" Asked Kay-Si. "None of your business." Said Felix. "It IS my business! He's my husband!" Shouted Kay-Si. "Well, if you want to know that bad! The ChaosSucker2000 will suck all of your husband's chaos-powers out of him. I thought you'd figure it out by the name." Replied Felix. "You cant do that to him!" Shouted Kay-Si. "Oh, I can, and I will! Goodbye, darling!" Said Felix, running off. Kay-Si shut the door and put her back against it. She sighed and thought about what she was going to do. Just then, the door opened and Kay-Si fell onto the floor. "Sorry, Kay-Si." Said Steppenwolf, coming into the room. "That's okay." Said Kay-Si, getting up. "Why were you leaning on the door anyway?" Steppenwolf wanted to know. "Felix was here." Kay-Si replied. "Felix?! What was he doing here?!" Steppenwolf asked. "He came here with a vacuum-type thing. I asked him about it, and he said it was called the ChaosSucker2000. He also said he was going to use it on you so he could suck all your chaos-powers out of you." Replied Kay-Si. "I'm gonna go find him!" Said Steppenwolf. "But---!" Started Kay-Si. "No, dont try to stop me, Kay-Si. If I dont find him, then who knows what he'll do next!" Said Steppenwolf. Kay-Si had to let him go. She went back in the living room and Moonwatcher soon noticed his mom's teary eyes. "What's wrong, mom?" He asked her. Kay-Si stared in space a bit before answering her son's question. Then finally she spoke up. "It was Felix." She replied. "Felix? What was he doing here?" Moonwatcher wanted to know. "He came with a vacuum-thing called the ChaosSucker2000. He's going to use it to take all of your father's chaos-powers out of him. Just now he went to go look for Felix." Answered Kay-Si. "Oh. Well, dont worry, mom. I'm sure dad will take out that Felix before he can use the ChaosSucker-thing on him." Said Moonwatcher. "Well, I sure hope your right." Said Kay-Si. Moonwatcher knew that once his mom was worried it was hard for him or anybody else to take her mind off of what she was worrying about. He again told her that everything would be fine then he went in his room to read for a bit until his break was over. After awhile, he sat down his book and got out his now "Family Memories" book. He wrote a bit about what his mom had said. This is what Moonwatcher wrote: New entry: Today that mean guy Felix came over and he has something called a "ChaosSucker2000". And he wants to use it on my dad! But I think my dad will take him out before Felix can use that thing on him! Stay tuned for the rest of this story! 'Til next time, Moonwatcher Moonwatcher then put his pencil and Family Memories book back on his desk. He went in the living room to see if there was any news. "Did dad come back yet?" He asked his mom. "No, honey. Not yet." Replied Kay-Si. Just then the door opened. There stood Steppenwolf. Both Kay-Si and Moonwatcher ran up to him. "Are you okay?" Asked Kay-Si. "Is Felix finally gone for good?" Asked Moonwatcher. "Well, Felix is gone, thats the good news." Said Steppenwolf. "Yippee! I was just about getting tired of that guy!" Said Moonwatcher happily. "Good news? You mean, there's bad news, too?" Asked Kay-Si. "Yes, sad to say." Said Steppenwolf. "Bad news? What bad news?" Asked Moonwatcher. "The bad news is... I've lost my powers." Said Steppenwolf. "You have?" Said Moonwatcher sadly. "I have." Replied Steppenwolf. Moonwatcher ran in his room and got out his Family Memories book. He wrote in it the good news, and the bad news, as well. What he wrote: New entry: I have very bad news! But there's good news as well. The good news is we dont have to worry about that Felix guy anymore! The bad news is... my father has lost his powers! It's true, sadly true. But maybe he'll get them back? I'll let you know if he does! 'Til next time, Moonwatcher He stopped writing and looked down at what he wrote. He then closed the book and sat it back on his desk. He really did wonder if his father would ever get them back. About a week later, Kay-Si was in the kitchen, doing dishes, when she heard the door. When she opened the door she saw her cousin Susan-Na(read the story "In the Life of an Echidna" for more information on Kay-Si's cousin!), and she welcomed her in. "Hey, Susan!" Said Kay-Si. "Hey, I decided to come over again!" Said Susan happily. "Yeah, I'm sure Moonwatcher will be glad to see his "great cousin" again." Said Kay-Si. "Yep. By the way, where is he?" Asked Susan. "Oh he's out for guard duty, with his father, as usual." Said Kay-Si. "Oh, of course! I forgot that you were married to the guardian!" Said Susan. "Yes but Steppenwolf has been having problems of his own lately." Said Kay-Si. "What do you mean?" Wondered Susan. "Well, he lost his powers." Said Kay-Si. "Oh thats awful! Hey, I think I can solve your husband's problem!" Said Susan, smirking. "How?" Asked Kay-Si. "Well I've just happened to read a thing or two about the Chaos Emerald, and I think I have the perfect solution!" Said Susan happily. "Which is?" Asked Kay-Si. "Well, I need to ask you a question before I tell you the solution. How did he lose his powers?" Asked Susan. "He got them sucked out of him by the ChaosSucker2000." Replied Kay-Si. "Ah, yes, I've read about that machine! All you've gotta do is put the ChaosSucker2000 in revearse! There is a revearse button on it, ya know." Said Susan. "Yeah, we've already thought of that. But we dont know where the machine is. Steppenwolf said he was going to look for it." Said Kay-Si. "Well I hope that he finds it, it's the only way he can get his powers back." Said Susan. Just then Moonwatcher walked in. "Hi mom! Hi... Great Cousin Susan?!" Said Moonwatcher. "Hi Moonwatcher!" Susan said to him. "What are you doing here?" He asked his great cousin. "I come here once every two months, remember?" Said Susan. "Yeah.. I sort-of forgot about that." Said Moonwatcher. "Moonwatcher, where's your father?" Asked Kay-Si confusingly. "Oh, he'll be here in a sec.! The ChaosSucker-thing is slowing him down." Replied Moonwatcher. "The... ChaosSucker2000? He found it?!" Asked Kay-Si. "Well, not the same one, but we happened to get another one!" Said Moonwatcher. "Will a different one work?" Kay-Si asked Susan. "Well... it's possible... but I dont know for sure." Replied Susan. "Well, lets just hope that it does work." Said Kay-Si. "Hey Susan!" Said Steppenwolf, coming into the room. "Hi, Steppenwolf." Said Susan. "How do you work this thing anyway?" Steppenwolf wanted to know. "Well, luckily, I happen to have some instructions on it." Said Susan. "That's funny! We get a new ChaosSucker-thing, that doesn't come with instructions, and Susan gets instructions on it, but it doesn't come with the machine!" Said Moonwatcher with a giggle. "The revearse button should be here somewhere." Said Susan, looking at all the sides of the machine. "Gosh, they sure do hide that revearse button good!" Teased Moonwatcher. Finally, after much time, Susan finally found the revearse button. "Okay, here it is. Now, the next step is just to point the sucker-thing at the target and then the machine should give back the powers..." Said Susan, her nose in the instruction booklet. "Okay, then lets just do that, then!" Said Moonwatcher. "Waitaminute! It says here that the machine will only give back the powers to people it has sucked them out of! That means that its got to be the correct machine, or it wont work!" Said Susan, telling everybody the disturbing news. "Why dont we try it, anyway?" Said Moonwatcher. "What good is it if it's not going to work?" Asked Susan confusingly. "Well it wouldn't hurt to just try." Said Moonwatcher. "Okay, but I dont see the point of it." Said Susan. Susan pointed the sucker-thing at Steppenwolf and pushed the revearse button. Steppenwolf's whole body turned a greenish color. Finally, it stopped. "Did it work?" Moonwatcher asked. "Let me see.. it says here that if the target's body turns a greenish color, it was a success, and if it didn't turn a greenish color, then it wasn't a success." Said Susan, then she looked up from her instruction booklet in amazement. "It was a success! It was a success!" Said Moonwatcher happily. "It's amazing! I dont see how a different machine can give back powers that another machine took." Said Susan confusingly. "Well, the important thing is that Steppenwolf got them back." Said Kay-Si happily. "Why dont we celebrate? By having a party!" Said Moonwatcher happily. And so they did. But it was two separate parties, though. One of the parties was inside, and one was outside. Inside was the party Susan and Moonwatcher were celebrating. But outside was the party Kay-Si and Steppenwolf were celebrating. Steppenwolf and Kay-Si were dancing outside in the moonlight. "Steppenwolf, I'm glad you got your powers back, but I'll love you no matter if you got them or not." Said Kay-Si happily. "Kay-Si, that means so much to me." Said Steppenwolf. And right then and there, they both kissed. They all had a great night from then on. And Kay-Si had no idea that she was soon in bed. She had fallen asleep from all the excitement. When she woke, she got up from bed and went into the living room. "Good morning, Kay-Si." Said Susan. "Good morning, mom!" Said Moonwatcher running in the room. "Good morning, Kay-Si!" Said Steppenwolf, coming into the room also. "Gosh, that sure runs in the family! I've had three good mornings today!" Said Kay-Si with a giggle. "That's because its a good morning!" Said Moonwatcher happily. "Yes, it most certainly is." Said Susan with a smile. "What a wonderful family I have." Said Kay-Si happily, collapsing onto the couch. "I know! I'm going to go put a new entry in my Family Memories book!" Said Moonwatcher, running to go get it. And this, is what he wrote: New entry: Hey! Great news! My dad got his powers back AND my great cousin Susan-Na is visiting! Today is a great day! We're all in a wonderful mood. I hope nothing bad ruins this day, because it's been a long time since we've had a perfectly wonderful day! Thanks! 'Til next time, Moonwatcher He showed his family his new entry, who all had a turn to look at it. "Moonwatcher, aren't you suppose to keep your diary to yourself?" Susan said. "Diary? This isn't a diary! It's a Family Memories book!" Said Moonwatcher. "Oh, well I've heard of journals and diaries, but never a Family Memories book. Thats a new one on me." Said Susan. "Well, it used to be called a Memory Book." Said Moonwatcher. "I see." Said Susan. Just then, the phone rang. Kay-Si got up to get it. "Hello?" She said. "Hey, who's this?" Said Molly-Ca. "Kay-Si here, and I assume your Molly-Ca and you want to talk to Moonwatcher." Said Kay-Si. "Yep. May I speak to him, please, Mrs.Echidna?" Said Molly-Ca. "Yes, and you can call me Kay-Si." Said Kay-Si. "Okay, Mrs.Echidna. Now may I speak to him?" Said Molly-Ca. "Molly, you can call me Kay-Si if you want." Said Kay-Si. "I'd rather call you Mrs.Echidna." Said Molly-Ca. "Okay, well I'll get Moonwatcher." Said Kay-Si. "Moonwatcher, Molly's on the phone and wants to speak with you." Kay-Si told her son. "Moonwatcher?" Molly-Ca said. "Hey, Molly. What ya want? Is Zoey-Ca lost again?" Teased Moonwatcher. "No, Zoey is here and she's fine." Replied Molly-Ca. "Then.. whats up?" Said Moonwatcher. "I've been thinking. We're both already fifteen. Actually, your almost sixteen. But anyway, what I mean to tell you is..." Began Molly-Ca. "You was wondering if we could go on a date." Said Moonwatcher. "Yeah." Said Molly-Ca. "Yeah, I've been thinking about that, too. Infact, I was about to call you about it!" Said Moonwatcher. "You were?" Asked Molly-Ca. "Yep. Where do you think we should go?" Asked Moonwatcher. "I dunno!" Said Molly-Ca. "How 'bout... the tallest hill on the island? Thats where my parents went on their anniversary. I was figuring we could go there for a date." Said Moonwatcher. "Cool! I'll ask my mom! What time?" Molly-Ca wanted to know. "Ummm... seven." Said Moonwatcher. "Okay! And my mom says it's alright! What about your parents?" Asked Molly-Ca. "Well, I'll ask them. Mom, dad, can I go on a date with Molly-Ca tonight at seven? I'm old enough now." Said Moonwatcher. "Okay, you can go." His parents agreed. At seven, before he left, he packed some oranges(as usual), and some lemonade that his mother just got through making. He went over to the tallest hill, and there sat Molly-Ca, smiling at him. "Hey, Molly. Ya know, this isn't a very big date, but its a good date though, I guess." Said Moonwatcher, sitting down next to Molly-Ca. "What'd ya bring?" Asked Molly-Ca. "Some oranges and lemonade." Replied Moonwatcher. They ate the oranges and drank the lemonade then looked up at the moon. "Now you REALLY ARE a moon watcher!" Molly-Ca joked. "Yeah sometimes I wonder why my parents named me that, but, whatever." Said Moonwatcher. "Yeah, it doesn't matter. My name isn't all that great either." Said Molly-Ca. "Atleast your name makes sence!" Said Moonwatcher. "What do you mean? Your name makes sence! It probably means your watching the moon or something! Your father's name is what I can't figure out!" Said Molly-Ca with a giggle. "Some strange, strange names." Said Moonwatcher. Then, without saying another word, they both kissed. After awhile, Molly-Ca began to shiver. "It's getting late. I better go home, I dont want to get in trouble! Seeya!" Said Molly-Ca, running off in the direction of her house. "Okay, seeya." Said Moonwatcher. Moonwatcher then headed home himself and climbed in bed. And, without thinking another thought, fell asleep. THE END
