A Guardian's Last Words
Knuckles lays under the surface of the chaos chamber, where he had just fought off a whole brigade of the undead, created by the dark legion somehow. The wounds in his body unexpectedly expanded and worsened when he went into a rage and turned to a whole new mega form. But without the emerald's power to heal the wounds, they got worse. Just before he unleashed his final attack, Negena, Julie-Su and Tails enter the chamber to assist him. While he lay, bloody, on the ground, Tails fly's crying, to help him. Julie-Su throws down her gun in tears screaming after she sees him. Negena is already at his side tilting his head. Before he passes, he utters something that is later told to his daughter Lara-Su, and it was something she will never forget:
As the Lights go out
The darkness will set in
But please do not grieve for me
I will always have pride within
I have lived my cause
With its hardships and its pleasures
Please stay here to defend
The island and its treasures
Even when I go
Our cause can still be won
Though I die
My legacy will live on…

Negena only tells him that he'll be okay and that they will get him to the Hospital Wing, hoping to lift his spirits. But then he fades. The three of his friends mourn over his body as he had just defeated unknown to them at the time…the entire Dark legion…And thus…is where the story of the Guardian Knuckles… who was a husband, father, and amazing friend…ends.
