Knuckles exited the arcade, after saying goodbye to the Chaotix. He walks out and kicks a rock on the ground. Until he sees the direction of the pebble. "Julie-Su!" He said under his breath. Diving behind a bush to hide himself. The rock just misses her and she looks around, suspicious. She walks away and Knuckles wipes a bead of sweat from his brow. He feels so stupid. His mind remains on Julie-Su for the rest of the day. He can't stop thinking of how he wants so badly to become more than, "Just Buddies". He is clueless to how she feels. He starts singing in the middle of the street, following her to her house, but far away enough that she neither can hear nor see him. The pedestrians of Echidnaopolis stare at the Guardian break into chorus. Some take pictures of the sight. He is oblivious to their stares and walks as he sings dramatically.
It is so hard to describe how I feel,
Every time I daydream about her
I get depressed because it isn't real, and

Knux: Hey uh, you know. Um, I was just kinda wondering if you kinda Wanted to. Well I don't know...

Julie-Su: What?

Knux: Um, never mind. Just a stupid thought. Well, see ya later.

She sees the look in his eyes, suspicious for some time now and wanting him to just as much as him, wishes to help him out by doing something very out of her nature…
Julie-Su: Wait! Are you by chance, trying to ask me out?

Julie-Su: Well then go ahead.

And so, the real relationship between Knuckles and Julie-Su starts. On their way back to Echidnaopolis, Knuckles gets a lot of hidden stares and even a few applause's. Julie-Su looks at him for an explanation. He replies simply, "Let's just say I had a curtain call on my way over here…"
