Chapter 1

Going Home

          Sonic, Tails and Sally walked through the forest of Mobius Prime. They were heading home from their latest adventure… an adventure on a planet that is no more. A planet called Mobius Jungle. They had luckily won their battle… just barely. But they did win, and now they’re headed to Knothole Village, where everyone is sure to give them a warm welcome home.
          “ That was amazing, Sonic!” Tails yelled, flying into the air.
          “ What was, Tails?” Sonic asked.
          “ How you destroyed Zonic! I wouldn’t have guessed in a million years that he was the bad guy!” Tails said.
          “ Yeah, well I wouldn’t of either, Tails. It was surprising…” Sonic said, looking down.
          “ Well, Tails has a point. Who would of thought that Zonic would try to destroy our entire planet?” Sally asked, leaning on Sonic’s shoulder.
          “ I don’t know. And now I just don’t really care. I’m just glad that it’s over,” Sonic said.

Chapter 2

Knuckles’ Homecoming

          Knuckles ran up the steps leading to his mother’s apartment. He had just gotten back from a great adventure with Sonic, Tails and others he had met along the way. He was happy he was finally returning home.
          Right as he got to the door, it opened. On the other side stood his father, Locke.
          “ Dad!” Knuckles smiled brightly, hugging his father.
          Locke shed a tear.
          “ Knuckles m’boy! I’m glad you’re back… I didn’t know if you’d make it back or not…”
          Lara-Su, Knuckles’ mother, ran up to him, her arms open.
          Knuckles rapped his arms around his mother.
          “ Mom… I’m glad to see you…” Knuckles beamed.
          Knuckles looked over his mothers shoulder to see the entire brotherhood of Guardians standing at the counter. They were all watching with a smile. He let go of his mother and walked into the kitchen, looking for someone.
          “ Knuckles! Over here!” A voice called from the living room.
          Knuckles ran into the living room to find Julie-Su and the Chaotix seating on the couch. Julie-Su jumped up and hugged Knuckles.
          “ Hey, hey, hey! Enough with the hugs!” Knuckles laughed.
          “ I’m so happy to see you!” Julie-Su smiled.
          Knuckles rapped his arm around Julie-Su’s waist, and looked at the Chaotix, who seemed very relaxed.
          “ So, how ya been Knux?” Vector asked.
          “ Not bad, considering we barely saved the planet,” Knuckles said.
          “ Yeah, well you did it, and that’s all that counts,” Espio said.
          “ So what’s happened since I’ve been gone?” Knuckles asked.
          “ Whoa… I don’t think you want to know,” Mighty said.
          “ What happened?” Knuckles asked, more curious than ever.
          “ I can answer that,” Locke walked into the room.
          “ So? What?” Knuckles asked.
          “ Well, the dingoes decided that they had had enough, and attacked the city. We beat them, however… and incase you wouldn’t succeed, we used an energy barrier from Knothole to protect the Floating Island… but Robotnik noticed a royal aircraft flying towards the island, and attacked… St. John, the leader of King Acorn’s secret service, took him out of luckily took him out of commission,” Locke explained.
          “ Whoa… well, at least you guys handled things okay,” Knuckles said.

Chapter 3

Knothole’s Welcome

          Sonic, Tails and Sally found their way through the foliage of the Great Forest, and made it to the Great Oak Slide.
          “ Well, we’re home… after a long, long while,” Tails said.
          “ Thank god,” Sally said.
          Sonic held the strap of the sheath that held the Sword of Acorns. Then, jumped down the oak slide, followed by Sally and Tails.
          They landed, and stood up. They were shocked to see the entire village looking at them. Then, they all starting cheering.
          Sonic cracked a smile.
          “ Geez, everyone. All we did was the usual… save the world, you know, the normal stuff,” Sonic said.
          The crowd started to split, and they could see a figure with a large, red flowing cape. When it got closer, they could see it was none other than King Acorn himself.
          “ Your majesty… I present to you, the King of Acorns,” Sonic knelt down, and held up the sheath with the Sword of Acorns in it.
          “ Thank you, sir Sonic, but you may have it. You saved our lives… it’s the only way I can truly thank you,” King Max smiled.
          “ What? Are you SERIOUS?!!” Sonic whooped in joy.
          “ Yes. You deserve it, Sir Sonic,” King Max said.
          “ I don’t know how to thank you, your majesty…” Sonic looked at the sword.
          “ You don’t need to. I need to thank you, actually,” The King said.
          “ Well… okay, I guess,” Sonic started to sweat, not having a clue what to say.

Chapter 4

Sonic’s Mission

          That night in Knothole, Sonic is resting in his room. He sleeps soundly, completely worn out from his mission in the Mobius Jungle.
          The door to Sonic’s room is slowly opened, and his parents look in.
          “ Our son is the greatest hero to ever live…” Sonic’s father said.
          “ I’m so proud of him…” His mother said.
          The door then closed.

          Morning came a little too early for Sonic. He woke up with his body aching terribly. He walked down the steps, rubbing his eyes and yawning. When he got into the kitchen, he was shocked to see St. John sitting at the kitchen table, and his men behind him.
          They were fully clothed in army gear, almost like they were heading out on a mission.
          “ Morning, St. John,” Sonic said politely, sitting down.
          “ Morning to you there, mate,” St. John said.
          Sonic’s Parents poked their heads into the room from the living room, but quickly went back to their own business.
          “ So what brings you here, St. John?” Sonic asked.
          “ Well, we know you just got off the mission on Mobius Jungle, but we were wondering if you’d like to join us on OUR mission in Robotropolis,” St. John asked.
          “ Geez… I don’t know. I’m pretty tired… what’s the mission objective?” Sonic asked.
          “ Well, Robotnik has created a new form of shadowbots, more powerful than ever. We plan to infiltrate his laboratory and destroy the prototypes before he finishes them,” St. John explained.
          “ Sure! I’m always up to a good Bot bashin’!” Sonic yelled enthusiastically, slamming his fist on the table.
          “ Great! We leave tonight,” St. John said, finishing his tea and walking to the door. “ See you then.”
          St. John left, followed by his team.
          Sonic got up and walked over to the counter. He pulled out a box of cereal from the cupboard, and went to the fridge and took out the milk. He reached into another cupboard and took out a bowl, and pored himself a bowl of cereal.
          “ Can’t wait for this mission…” Sonic thought to himself. “ At least its back to the basics instead of something huge like that mission on Mobius Jungle.”

Chapter 5

Night

          The air was polluted by poison gases and the stench of oil and rusted metal. The old buildings and factories that covered the once lush city of Mobotropolis was a horrible site, but tonight, it meant nothing. What meant something was the mission.
          Sonic looked on through binoculars, looking for a specific building.
          “ I don’t see it. Where…?” Sonic asked, holding the strap that held the sword of acorns.
          “ Hand me them ‘noculars, mate,” St. John said, taking the binoculars from Sonic.
          He looked around, and spotted it.
          “ Right thaya, next to the Robotnik statue,” St. John said, handing the binoculars back to Sonic.
          Sonic looked through them once again, and spotted the factory where the ultimate shadowbots were being built. He smiled.
          “ Let’s go!” Sonic yelled, as he jumped up from behind the dirt pile and raced through the long grass at top speed, the sword of acorns bouncing off his back.
          “ Sonic! Wait!” St. John yelled, and jumped up to start running after him. He motioned for his men to follow, and they obeyed.
          “ Sir, This isn’t very smart,” Heavy mentioned. “ We should sneak in to try and avoid shadowbots.”
          “ I know… I know. But Sonic does his own thing… and we’ll have to live with it,” St. John said with an angry face. He ran as fast as he could to catch up with Sonic.

Chapter 6

Shadowbot Attack

          Sonic was stopped dead in his tracks by two shadowbots. They were gigantic, clanking machines, pointing their robotic fingers at him.
          “ Look! It’s the doctor’s enemy! SONIC THE HEDGEHOG! ATTACK!” One of the shadowbots said.
          A shaft on their right arms opened up, and a small laser cannon shot up out of it. They started firing at Sonic, but he was out of firing range within seconds.
          Sonic raced up the side of a building, laughing.
          “ Seeya latah! Ha! Ha!” Sonic smiled.
          Sonic leaped, and landed on top of the building with style. Looking around, he saw the bright lights of Dr. Robotnik’s laboratory, and the smoke of the factories all around him.
          “ Looks like I need to find that factory where the ultimate ‘bots are again…” Sonic said with a determined look.
          He looked around for an area to get down the building, and found one.

Chapter 7

Ray

          Sonic ran towards the steps that lead to the bottom of the building. He put his hands on the rails, and leapt onto the rail, and started grinding down it.
          “ WOOHOO! NOW THIS IS FUN!” Sonic laughed.
          When he reached the end, he jumped off, and landed on his feet. Within microseconds he was running out the front door, only to run into… Ray the Turtle!
          “ What the--?!” Sonic yelled, screeching to a halt.
          “ Sonic?! What in the world are you doing here?” Ray asked.
          “ I could ask the same for you,” Sonic put his hands on his hips.
          “ Sonic! Sonic wait up!” A voice called from behind.
          Sonic looked behind him to see St. John and the others running towards him.
          “ Sonic – huff - you need to slow down for once – phew!” St. John breathed hard.
          “ Well uh, sorry, I guess,” Sonic said.
          “ Who’s this?” St. John asked, pointing at Ray.
          “ Oh, this is Ray the Turtle. He helped me out on my mission on Mobius Jungle,” Sonic explained.
          “ Oh… nice to meet you,” St. John said. “ My name is Geoffrey St. John.”

Chapter 8

Bot Attack

          “ Uh, sorry, but this is no place to meet. I need to find the others fast,” Ray said.
          “ What? You mean Nate, Buster and Flyer? Why are you here, anyway?” Sonic asked.
          “ The others and I found this city, and we figured it’d be a cool place to hang out… why? What is this place?” Ray asked.
          “ This is Robotropolis! Where the evil Dr. Robotnik lives! You do NOT want to hang around here,” Sonic said. “ We’re only here to destroy some super powerful shadowbots so they don’t eventually destroy us!”
          “ Intruder! Halt!” a robotic voice hollered.
          Sonic swerved around to see shadowbots running towards them.
          “ Let’s scram!” Sonic yelled, grabbing onto Ray’s arm and pulling him along.
          St. John and his men were falling behind as Sonic raced off towards the other end of the city.
          Sonic turned a corner and stopped, leaning against the wall.
          “ Do you ever get tired?” Ray asked.
          “ No.”
          “ Oh…”
          They heard lasers being fired, and heard screams of pain.
          “ HEEEEELLLLP!” Sonic heard Wombat Stu yell.
          Sonic looked forward with a sad face. The wall of the building in front of them was old and rusty… and moving.

Chapter 9

Valdez

          “ What the heck?!” Sonic asked himself.
          The wall continued to move, then it stopped. He felt something moving around… and then a chameleon came into view.
          “ Valdez!” Sonic yelled with a smile.
          “ I snuck away. Let’s go,” Valdez said. “ We need to get the others.”
          Sonic, Ray and Valdez ran around the corner and into the shadowbots. They started to fight fiercely, knocking the shadowbots together, smashing them to bits. After minutes, the fight was over, and they had won.
          Sonic helped St. John get up.
          “ Thanks, Mate,” St. John said.
          Heavy and Bomb jumped up by themselves.
          “ All systems active,” Heavy said.
          Ray helped Hershey up, but she was still a little woozy. Wombat Stu was injured in the right arm; it was bleeding badly.
          “ When we get back to Knothole we’ll have that fixed up lickidy split,” St. John said to Wombat Stu.
          “ Let’s go find Nate and the others… and then we can destroy those ultimate bots,” Sonic said, holding the strap that held the sword of acorns.
          They started to move onward.

Chapter 10

Robotnik

          “ Sonic! Up ahead is the factory!” St. John pointed towards the working factory they had seen earlier.
          Sonic gripped the strap that held his sword… the Sword of Acorns.
          “ Let’s get in there then,” Sonic said.
          Sonic didn’t wait for the others. He raced off into the building, stirring up the dust behind him.
          Sonic opened the door, and walked in. Sounds of clanking, working machines filled his ears. He looked around to see the Ultimate Shadowbots all on a platform, one right after another, almost like an assembly line.
          “ Good god…” Sonic said.
          As he looked on at the shadowbots, a sliding metal door opened silently, not noticed by Sonic. A rotund figure walked through it, and came into view.
          Robotnik stood on the other end of the assembly line of shadowbots.
          “ Sonic! So good to see you!” Robotnik yelled, catching Sonic’s attention.
          “ Eggman! What do you think you’re doing, building these super shadowbots?!” Sonic yelled back, leaping across the room to Robotnik.
          Sonic dived onto Robotnik, who, with surprising strength, threw Sonic into a wall.
          “ Aaarrrgghhh!!!” Sonic yelled in pain, holding his back.
          Robotnik walked over to Sonic, and laughed.
          “ You poor pathetic fool!” Robotnik laughed harder. “ You think you can waltz in here and try to destroy me? Well if you think that, you have another thing coming, you pesky hedgehog!”
          Robotnik picked Sonic up by his neck, and held him against the wall.
          “ This is where it finally ends, hedgehog!”

Chapter 11

The True Endgame

          Robotnik reared his fist back, ready to deliver the final blow that would be the end of Sonic.
          Sonic closed his eyes, grinding his teeth.
          Then, he remembered something.
          Without thinking, Sonic took out the Sword of Acorns and slashed at Robotnik, cutting his arm off.
          “ UUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Robotnik screamed.
          “ You’re going bye bye, Robotnik,” Sonic said, a terrible look on his face.
          Sonic leapt into the air, and slashed again, slitting Robotnik’s throat.

          Ga – graahhhhhhh….” Robotnik tried to talk, holding his neck, which was bleeding all over the place.
          “ Goodbye Robotnik,” Sonic said.
          Robotnik fell to the floor in a pool of blood.
          “ I don’t believe it… it’s over,” Sonic said. “ A short battle ended years and years of battle? It doesn’t make sense!”
          “ You did it, Sonic,” A familiar voice said from behind. Sonic turned to see St. John standing at the doorway. “ You ended the threat of Robotnik for once and for all.”
          “ It doesn’t seem like it though…” Sonic said.

Chapter 12

End?

          The others walked into the building, including Nate, Flyer and Buster, Ray’s friends.
          “ Hey Sonic,” Nate said.
          “ Hey everyone,” Sonic said.
          “ Come on, you guys. Let’s go back to Knothole. We can take my jet. It’s right on the outskirts of the city,” St. John said.
          “ Sounds good. I’d love to see Tails again!” Nate said. “ You guys agree?” Nate looked to Buster and Flyer, who were both smiling and nodding their heads.
          “ Well c’mon then,” St. John waved them forward.
          The others followed him to the door, but Sonic stayed where he was. Ray was by his side, and so was Valdez.
          “ You guys comin’?” St. John asked.
          “ No… I think I’m going to stay here with Sonic,” Valdez said.
          “ Me too,” Ray said.
          “ Well, we’ll see you later,” St. John said.
          They left, leaving Sonic, Ray and Valdez alone.
          “ It’s over, but it’s not,” Sonic said.
          “ What do you mean?” Ray asked.
          “ We’ve done this before. Robotnik died. Then another Robotnik took his place… it’s gonna happen again. I know it… but that’s not what bothering me,” Sonic said.
          “ What is?” Valdez asked.
          Without notice, the ground started to tremble. Metal bionics from the walls started falling, and the ceiling started to cave in.

Chapter 13

The Vanishing Planet

          Sonic held his arms over his head to protect himself.
          “ Let’s get out of here!” Sonic yelled.
          They ran out the door to try and catch St. John.
          When Sonic looked into the sky, St. John was already heading towards Knothole in his shuttle.
          “ NO!” Sonic yelled.
          Minutes past as the earthquake went on.
          “ St. John is probably already at Knothole by now,” Sonic said.
          “ He is. It only takes a couple minutes to get there in a shuttle,” Valdez said.
          As soon as he said that, the earthquake stopped. Sonic looked behind him to see… nothing. Robotropolis was vanishing!
          “ Oh SHIT!” Sonic yelled, running off towards the opposite direction, Ray and Valdez close behind.
          Everything was being obliterated.
          Ray and Valdez jumped on Sonic’s back, and he raced forward as fast as he could, but the vanishing planet was catching up to him…
          Sonic held out the Sword of Acorns in one hand. He held it high, trying to get it to do something.
          Suddenly, Sonic stopped. All around him, the planet was disappearing. All that was left was the little patch of land he was on.
          “ NO!!!” Sonic yelled.
          “ We’re gonna die!” Ray yelled.
          “ Do something, Sonic!” Valdez urged Sonic on.
          “ I… can’t!” Sonic screamed.
          Then, the small patch of land Sonic was on disappeared, and Sonic jumped up, holding the sword high.
          “ Bring us somewhere SAFE!!!” Sonic yelled to no one.
          The three yelled in terror as they disappeared…

Chapter 14

The Sword of Mysteries

          They had vanished… nothing was there. Nothing… then, something came into view. A lush jungle… soon, Sonic opened his eyes to find himself in this strange jungle.
          “ What the…?” Sonic asked himself.
          “ I thought we were dead,” Valdez said.
          “ It was your sword, Sonic!” Ray said, pointing to the sword of acorns in Sonic’s hands.
          The sword was steaming with a green glow.
          “ Whoa… it was! It must have transported us here!” Sonic said.
          “ But where is here?” Ray asked.
          “ It must be another version of Mobius…” Sonic said, still in awe of his sword. “ This sword is strange… who would have known that it could transport us to another version of Mobius?”
          No one answered him. Sonic turned around to see Valdez and Ray running in the opposite direction.
          “ Where are you guys goin’?!” Sonic yelled.
          A dinosauric roar made him realize something was coming after him.
          He turned to face the opposite end of the jungle to see the trees shaking. Then, a gigantic lizard-like head poked out of them. The head of the lizard was five feet long alone. Then, it walked out of the trees, surprisingly silent.

Chapter 15

The Tyrannosaurus

          The lizard-like creature was 15 feet tall, and had a large, bull neck. Its tail was at least 18 feet long, which, as Sonic could see, help balance its body out. Its short, stubby arms couldn’t be of much help for anything. They only had two fingers…
          Then Sonic realized; this is a Tyrannosaurus Rex!
          The Tyrannosaur sniffed Sonic, who could smell the creature’s terrible breath. The Tyrannosaur moved its head slowly; turning it sideways, almost like it was studying Sonic.
          The Tyrannosaur then reared its head back, roaring loudly. It then swung its head down, trying to chomp onto Sonic, who was already running.
          The Tyrannosaur roared, and started to chase after Sonic; but Sonic was much too fast for it.
          Sonic outran the Tyrannosaur in no time flat, but still, it was a terrifying experience.
          Sonic soon met up with Ray and Valdez, who were frightened almost to death.
          “ Holy…” Ray said.
          “ What’s a dinosaur doing here?” Sonic asked.
          “ I don’t know… maybe this is a dinosaur planet,” Valdez said.
          “ No… I don’t think so,” Sonic said.
          Suddenly, a six-foot tall dinosaur jumped after Sonic, roaring, its tail up high. It leapt again towards him, but didn’t jump on him.

Chapter 16

The Velociratpors

          The dinosaur seemed to study Sonic, much like the Tyrannosaur had. Sonic and the others watched it, waiting for it to strike. But then, six other dinosaurs of the same type jumped onto them, tearing into them. Ray covered up as one dinosaur tore into his shell. Sonic realized how strong these things were, as he tried to knock the creature away, but it wouldn’t budge. It kept snapping at him, and soon, he felt the sharp claw on its left leg dig into his side.
          “ AAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!” Sonic yelled. Sonic quickly took out his sword with one hand, holding the creature’s head away with the other, and shoved the sword through the creatures’ chest. It roared, and fell over, still squealing. Sonic got up and shoved the sword through the side of the creature that was on Valdez, who got away.
          “ Jesus!” Valdez yelled, jumping out of the way of the dying dinosaur.
          These were velociraptors, the most intelligent dinosaurs ever to walk the face of the earth.
          Sonic ran after the raptor on Ray, and swung the sword at its neck, cutting its head off.
          Another raptor crouched down, its tail high, its mouth opened. Its claws were spread as well, and its middle toe moved up and down. It let out an ear-piercing scream, one that made Ray cover his ears.
          Then, the raptor leapt onto Ray’s back, trying to bite through his shell. But Ray instead went inside his shell, and fell to the ground. Inside it, he could he the clanging of the raptors teeth biting against his shell, and the scratching of its long claws on its feet.
          The other raptors chased after Valdez and Sonic, rearing their heads back and snapping at them. Sonic was easily faster than them, and picked up Valdez, who snatched Ray inside his shell. The raptor that was tearing into Ray’s shell roared, and joined the pack of raptors, chasing after Sonic.
          Sonic ran the opposite way he came, but the raptors were still behind him, screaming and roaring.
          “ Those things… they set a trap! They set a god damn trap!” Valdez yelled. “ They had one distract us so the others could kill us…!!!”
          Sonic nodded his head as he rounded a corner, and headed up a hill. But then, he came to another screeching halt, as the lumbering Tyrannosaur came running after them, its head moving from side to side, roaring. Sonic turned, but saw the raptors chasing after them in the opposite direction. They were trapped…

Chapter 17

Sonic vs. the Dinosaurs

          Valdez jumped off of Sonic’s back, and Ray came out of his shell. As the dinosaurs drew closer, Sonic withdrew his sword, holding it at his side.
          The Tyrannosaur reached him first, biting down at him. When its head lowered to bite into him, Sonic leapt into the air, landing on the creature’s neck. The Tyrannosaur roared, turning its head and snapping at Sonic. Sonic however, jumped out of the way, and held the sword upside down.
          Holding the sword with both hands, he drove it through the dinosaur’s head, going through its skull, and making contact with the brain. The Tyrannosaur roared, and its head landed on the ground. Its body was still balanced, but it soon fell over on its side. Gurgling sounds and small twitches from nerves were all that showed of any movement.
          Sonic took the sword out of the tyrannosaur’s head, and jumped down, awaiting the Velociraptors. The first raptor was at the bottom of the hill, but with unbelievable agility, crouched and jumped into the air, its sickle-like claws flailing wildly as it landed on Valdez. Sonic swung the sword, chopping the raptor’s stomach. Then with one clean swipe, cut the dinosaur’s head off.
          Valdez got up and huddled with Ray as Sonic took matters into his own hands, as the pack of raptors made it to him. The raptors bit and snapped at him as he leapt over them, and swung the sword so quickly that Valdez and Ray couldn’t see what he was doing. Soon, they realized that all the raptors were dead.
          “ That’s it… let’s get going,” Sonic said. Blood covered him and the sword, although he acted like he didn’t notice.
          Sonic started walking towards Ray and Valdez, when another raptor jumped out of the trees and landed next to Sonic. Sonic couldn’t react fast enough as the raptor jumped towards him, almost on top of him. Sonic waited to feel the raptor bite into him, when he heard a crunch. He looked up to see another tyrannosaur catch the raptor in midair with its mouth. The raptor screamed, squirming around, trying to bite into the hide of the tyrannosaur, but the t-rex bit down with a crunch, killing the raptor.
          It reared its head to the left, and swung the raptor down on the ground, as it begin to eat it.
          “ Let’s go,” Sonic said, the tyrannosaur ignoring them.
          “ Right…” Valdez said.
          Sonic helped Valdez and Ray up, and they started off towards nowhere…

Chapter 18

Remembrance

          Sonic and the others had been walking for hours. They had become very tired, and decided to find a place to sleep.
          “ I need to rest,” Ray said.
          “ Me too,” Valdez agreed.
          Sonic yawned, his eyes with bags under them.
          “ Lets get in a tree… we don’t want any dinosaurs to get us while we’re sleeping,” Sonic said.
          Ray and Valdez nodded, and pointed to the nearest tree. Sonic had them get on his back, and he used a Triple Sonic Spin to get up to the highest spot.
          “ Let’s get some sleep,” Sonic said, slouching against a branch. Valdez and Ray were already sleeping.
          Sonic, however, didn’t get to sleep. Instead, he just closed his eyes, thinking… thinking about Sally, Tails, Knuckles, St. John… everyone. Lost. Him, Ray and Valdez were the only ones alive from the destruction of Mobius… and they don’t even know what happened, or who did it. All they know is that they’re stranded on a jungle planet infested with dinosaurs…
          Sonic silently shed a tear, thinking about his old pal Tails, and the others that meant the world to him, that were now lost.

Chapter 19

The City

          Sonic awoke. He figured he’d stay awake all night, but he must have fell asleep.
          He got up, and saw that Ray was still asleep, but Valdez was missing.
          “ Where’d he go?” Sonic asked himself.
          He felt a tap on his shoulder, and turned around to see nothing there. Then, Valdez appeared out of nowhere.
          “ Let’s get moving,” Sonic said.
          Sonic woke up Ray, and they climbed down the tree. They started walking down the path again, Sonic holding his sword by his side incase any dinosaurs attacked.
          Soon, they walked down a hill to find a dead end.
          “ Damn… what now?” Ray asked.
          “ We keep moving,” Sonic said, swiping the bushes and grass in front of them, clearing a path. The brush didn’t last long though; it opened up to something they wouldn’t have believed was there… a city.
          “ Oh my god! It’s a city!” Valdez yelled, whooping.
          “ Let’s get down there!” Sonic yelled.
          The city looked as though it was in ruins, but still, floating vehicles were moving around, and they could see people walking around in its streets.
          They ran down to the city, walking along the streets. What they saw made their mouths drop.
          The people here were in chains, being given orders by men in black army suits. The people were using pick axes to dig into the ground, breaking up the cement and tar, as other picked up the loose pieces and carried them to the other part of the city.
          “ Holy god…” Valdez said.
          “ Who’s doing this?” Sonic asked.
          Ahead, they could hear a loud, booming voice yelling. It seemed oddly familiar… Sonic followed the voice, along with Ray and Valdez.
          When Sonic looked up at a screen on the side of a building, he saw someone that made his blood boil… it was Ixis Naugus.
          Sonic listened closely to what he was saying.
          “ Ha ha ha ha ha!!! I rule every world, every planet, every universe, and every version of Mobius! I rule EVERYTHING!!!” Naugus bellowed.
          “Only because I helped in the destruction of Mobius Prime… eliminating the one true, ultimate hero… Sonic the Hedgehog Prime!”
          “ So it was Naugus…” Sonic tightened his fists so hard they almost started to bleed.
          “ Now get back to work! All of you! I want you all to SUFFER!” Naugus roared.
          “ I get it now… Naugus destroys Mobius Prime and me, he gets to rule everything… just like Zonic’s plan…” Sonic said.
          “ So why is he having all these people dig?” Ray asked.
          “ Just to make them suffer…” Sonic growled. “ I know where he is… let’s go.”
          “ Go where?” Valdez asked.
          “ To where he is… the Zone of Silence,” Sonic explained.
          “ Well… won’t we be trapped there with him?” Ray asked in a worried voice.
          “ No… this sword is strange… if we can be transported to this dinosaur infested planet, then we can certainly get out of the zone of silence,” Sonic explained.
          Without question, Sonic took out the ever-mysterious Sword of Acorns, and held it above his head. White light engulfed Sonic, Ray and Valdez, and they disappeared into thin air…

Chapter 20

The Zone of Silence

          The white light disappeared, and only stars and a blue background remained. But soon, Ixis Naugus came into view.
          “ NAUGUS!!!” Sonic yelled, pointing the sword towards Ixis.
          “ SONIC?!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ALIVE?!!” Naugus questioned, completely shocked.
          “ I was never killed… I used the sword of acorns to teleport us to another planet… now, I find YOU ruling every universe in existence? I don’t think so… prepare to DIE!” Sonic yelled, jumping after Ixis.
          “ Oh, I don’t think so!” Ixis laughed.
          Naugus held out his arm, and waved it. A blast of light blew Sonic away, and suddenly, thousands of velociraptors came streaming out of nowhere!
          “ Good god!” Valdez said, taking out a knife from his boot. He ran to help Sonic, and Ray did too.
          A raptor jumped after Ray, but he sidestepped it and it ran into another raptor. Soon, the raptors were fighting each other, and Ray ran towards Naugus.
          “ It’s time to end this…” Sonic held out the Sword of Acorns.
          But the sword was snatched out of his hand. Sonic whipped around to see Naugus waving it in his hand, and laughing.
          “ Aaarrrgghhh!!!!!” Sonic yelled, jumping after Naugus.
          “ Uh, uh, uh! Play nice!” Naugus laughed, pointing at Sonic.
          The raptors stopped attacking Ray and Valdez, and turned their heads toward Sonic. They hissed, and ran after him instead…

Chapter 21

Sonic vs. the Raptors

          “ I don’t need the Sword of Acorns to take these things out,” Sonic snarled.
          He jumped into the air, and started into a Triple S spin, slicing off many raptors’ heads. He landed in a crouched position, and jumped again, once again doing a Triple S spin, slicing even more raptors in two.
          Sonic landed once more, this time very tired.
          It seemed like more raptors were coming by the second, overflowing the entire zone. They all screamed, almost hypnotic, jumping after Sonic.
          “ No…!” Sonic yelled, jumping out of the way of the raptors. He dived after Naugus, who was laughing, his back against Sonic.
          Sonic landed on Naugus’ back, surprising him. He snatched the sword out of Naugus’ hand, and as he jumped off, kicked him in the back of the head.
          “ This is it!” Sonic hollered.
          He held the sword above his head, as the raptors dived on top of him. A white light engulfed them, and after it faded, they had disappeared.
          Sonic sighed, and looked at Naugus, who looked terrified.
          “ Now you see what I can do… now, are you going to tell me what I want to know, or do I have to do the same to you as what I did to those dinosaurs?”

Chapter 22

Naugus’ Games

          “ You think I’d tell you anything? You’ve got to be kidding me!” Naugus laughed.
          Sonic didn’t make a sound. Instead, he put the sword against Naugus’ neck.
          “ Listen you freak… I want answers. And I want them now,” Sonic snarled.
          “ I already told you… I’m not telling you anything!” Naugus started to become angry.
          “ Was it you?” Sonic asked.
          “ Was it me? What do you mean by that?” Naugus asked.
          “ Was it you that destroyed Mobius. My Mobius,” Sonic asked sternly.
          “ Was it I that destroyed your measly planet? No,” Naugus said. “ But it just so happens that I know who did…”
          “ Who?!!” Sonic snapped.
          “Who? Who what? You know Sonic, you should use more words so people could understand what you’re asking,” Naugus laughed.
          Sonic leaned forward, and got right in Naugus’ face.
          “ Who, destroyed, my, planet.”
          “ Why don’t you ask him,” Naugus pointed to his side, where a dark, yet familiar figure was walking towards them.
          “ So Sonic,” The voice said. “ I see you’re still alive… well, not for long.”

Chapter 23

Return

          “ ZONIC!”
          “ That’s me,” Zonic laughed.
          “ How can you still be alive?! I killed you!” Sonic growled.
          “ Yes, you did actually. You see, in the zone portal we were fighting in, when it collapsed, it kept my body from completely obliterating. Therefore, it was suspended in animation… then, the zone portal opened up again, right here, in the Zone of Silence… Naugus found it, and was curious as to who I was. He used his powers to bring me back to life… I explained to him everything that happened, and promised him that if he used his powers to build me an all-powerful Ultimate Annihilator 3, then I’d grant him partnership in the ruling of every planet and universe in existence. He agreed, and the rest, well, you already know Sonic,” Zonic laughed.
          “ AAARRGGGHHHH!!!” Sonic was outraged. He jumped after Naugus and Zonic, slashing at them with the sword of acorns.
          “ Let’s help Sonic,” Ray said, running after Naugus, followed by Valdez.
          Naugus grabbed Sonic by the throat, holding him there.
          “ Oh no you don’t,” Naugus laughed, waving his clawed hand around.
          Another white flash of light, and thousands of raptors came out of nowhere once again, this time hurdling towards Ray and Valdez.
          Zonic reached up and grabbed Sonic’s sword out of his hands.
          “ Now, it’s your time to die!” Zonic laughed. “ Do the honors, Naugus.”
          “ SOMEBODY, HEEELLLP!!!” Sonic yelled, trying to break free of Naugus’ hold.
          A loud booming sound made everyone look. The raptors stopped, in awe of what was happening.
          A zone portal had opened up, and thousands of people were standing in it. At the front, were Knuckles and Tails.
          “ We’ll help.”

Chapter 24

Final Battle

          Sonic smiled. Then looked at Naugus.
          “ How are you guys still alive?!” Sonic laughed, almost in tears.
          “ After you guys returned, we put the energy barriers back up… almost out of habit. Good thing, because we weren’t obliterated!” Locke, Knuckles’ father, told Sonic.
          Sonic laughed and looked at Naugus. “ Now what ya gonna do?” Sonic kicked Naugus in the face, and jumped out of his hand using his Triple S Spin.
          “ NO!!” Naugus yelled, reaching for Sonic again.
          Locke, Sabre and the rest of the brotherhood of Echidna’s jumped out of the portal, taking on the raptors. Sonic looked up to see everyone from Knothole jumping out to help them. He saw millions of Echidna’s flowing out of the portal.
          “ Let’s do this,” Sonic smiled.
          He turned around to face Zonic.
          The millions of Echidna’s and people of Knothole village attacked the raptors, taking them easily.
          Knuckles and Tails ran over to Sonic.
          “ Hey guys… you ready for another battle?” Sonic asked.
          “ I’ve been waiting to see some action,” Knuckles said.
          The three friends ran after Zonic, who used the Sword of Acorns to throw them away from him.
          “ Fools! If I have the Sword of Acorns, you can’t stop me!” Zonic laughed. “ And now that I think about it… I have a perfect idea!”
          Zonic held the sword in front of him with both hands. He closed his eyes, and suddenly, he started to glow… he started to change colors from blue to red, his quills growing bigger, and his eyes turning to black.
          “ Meet my latest form… ZUPER ZONIC!” Zuper Zonic laughed.
          “ Great,” Sonic said.
          “ What can we possibly do now?” Tails asked.
          “ We kick some ass,” Sonic dived after Zuper Zonic, but Zuper Zonic was too fast for him. Zuper Zonic pummeled him, knocking him to the ground.
          “ HA! What a fool!” Zuper Zonic laughed.
          “ Let’s help Sonic,” Knuckles said to Tails.
          “ No, please, let me busy you for a while,” Naugus laughed, jumping after Knuckles and Tails.
          Naugus fired a lightning bolt at Tails, who was helped out of the way by St. John.
          “ There ya go, mate,” St. John said to Tails.
          “ Thanks,” Tails yelled as he flew after Naugus.
          Tails and Knuckles knocked Naugus to his feet by flying into him with their fists. He growled and got up, firing fireballs and lightning bolts at them. They easily dodged them, and came back around to knock him to the ground again.
          Naugus held his hand out, and made a fist. From behind him, a massive blizzard came shooting towards Tails and Knuckles, engulfing them.
          “ No!!!” Tails yelled as he fell down from the snow.
          “ Fools… now I’ll finish you off!” Naugus laughed.

          Sonic was thrown to the ground once again by Zuper Zonic. Sonic just did not know how he was going to beat this super hedgehog… then, he noticed Naugus firing Lightning bolts at Knuckles and Tails. He figured out that he could help them, as well as help himself.
          “ Hey Naugus!” Sonic yelled.
          Naugus turned around to see Sonic, and without question, fired volleys of lightning bolts and fireballs at Sonic. Sonic jumped out of the way, and the lightning bolts and fireballs hit Zuper Zonic was a tremendous amount of force, knocking him to the ground. Zuper Zonic lost the Sword of Acorns in the air, and it was snatched before it hit the ground by Sonic. Sonic held it in front of him, and he started to glow… turning yellow, his eyes turning red, his quills growing incredibly large…
          “ Now, meet your match, Zuper Zonic! Meet me… Super Sonic!!!” Super Sonic yelled as he flew towards Zuper Zonic at lightning speed.
          Super Sonic tackled Zuper Zonic, crashing him into a pack of raptors.
          “ You idiot, Naugus!” Zuper Zonic yelled.
          Super Sonic was in an outrage. He put the Sword of Acorns in its sheath and slung it over his shoulder, and started pounding Zuper Zonic, who took in every punch, not able to get up.
          “ You destroyed my planet… now you’re going to DIE!!!” Super Sonic yelled.
          Super Sonic then took out the Sword of Acorns again, and held Zuper Zonic in the air with his other arm. He took the sword and motioned a circle around Zuper Zonic with it, and Zuper Zonic started to fade… into Zonic.
          “ No! I’m my regular form again!” Zonic yelled.
          “ Goodbye,” Super Sonic whispered.
          He flew into the air, and threw Zonic into the thousands of raptors.
          “ AAARRGGHHHH!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!” Zonic yelled.
          Zonic was torn apart by the raptors, who seemed to enjoy it. Soon, his screams for help died down, and the raptors then scattered, going after the echidnas again, who started to fight them. Super Sonic looked to see only a sneaker lying there in a pool of blood.
          “ There’s no coming back now,” Super Sonic said.
          Super Sonic flew over to Naugus, who had Tails and Knuckles by the throat. Naugus didn’t notice him, until he shoved the Sword of Acorns through his chest.
          “ AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!” Naugus screamed in pain, letting go of Tails and Knuckles.
          Super Sonic picked them up, and flew them towards the still open zone portal.
          “ Come on, everyone! Let’s go!” Super Sonic yelled.
          The millions of echidnas and people of knothole ran into the portal. It took minutes, but they were all made it in.
          Super Sonic took one last look at the thousands of velociraptors, and Ixis Naugus.
          “ Goodbye.”
          Super Sonic flew through the portal at ultra speed, and after everyone made it out, it sealed up.
          They were all on the Floating Island, where King Acorn walked up to Super Sonic.
          “ Your Majesty… what are we going to do? We need this planet back… to give the people in every universe their freedom again. But I don’t want Zonic to return… how can we do it now?” Super Sonic asked.
          “ Sir Sonic… use the Sword of Acorns. It takes a person true of heart to have something they desire come true with the sword, and you’ve already done it by yourself many of times,” The King said.
          “ Okay… here goes nothing…” Super Sonic held the sword in front of him, and closed his eyes tightly. Suddenly, everyone heard a loud rumbling sound, and everything went white.

Chapter 25

The Beginning

          Sonic walked along the outskirts of Knothole. He had just gotten back from yet another mission in Robotropolis.
          It had worked. Sonic’s wish for everything to turn back how it was had worked, but this time, everything turned back. Robotnik had returned, just as the planet did. He had forgotten about Robotnik, and now, the tyrant was back, much to Sonic’s disliking. But now, everything was back to how it was… and how it should be.
          Sonic reached for the Sword of Acorns, taking the sheath off his back. He took the sword out, and then opened a pocket on the side of the sheath. He pulled out a small, rectangular, yellow disk. He held it with his hand, very carefully.
          ‘ This is the Key Card to the past… Zonic kept these incase he needed to go back into the past… if this was destroyed, everything would return to how it was before I made my wish… Mobius Prime would be destroyed, and Naugus and Zonic would be ruling everything… good thing I took this. If it got into the wrong hands, who knows what we’d do,” Sonic thought to himself.
          Sonic put the disk back into the pocket on the sword’s sheath, and held the sword in his hand. He smiled, and jumped down the Great Oak Slide.
          “ I’m goin’ home.”
