Sonic vs. Mecha Sonic, with a happy ending for both.

MECHA SONIC: REVISITED
Heart of Metal, Heart of Gold

Sonic looked up at Mecha Sonic.
"So....." Mecha said "Are you ready to be nonliving? You must be destroyed. Doctor's orders."
"Ha!" Sonic smirked "You'll have to fight me first! Catch you later!" With that, Sonic ran off and Tails flew back to Knothole.
"The fox is not important." he said monitoniously "Orders are to destroy hedgehog. Shall obey." With that, he sped off in Sonic's direction, and quickly caught up.
"Persistant, aren't you?" Sonic joked.
"Very." Mecha said "Surrender and you'll go quickly."
"Sorry, I'm not making that choice." Sonic said.
"Fine then...." Mecha said, and then he brandished his machine guns. He then opened fire. Sonic dodged to the best of his abilities, and still barely getting hit. This new MS was fast! Finally, Sonic used his super peelout to get ahead. MS fired up his turbo boosters, and followed behind. Suddenly, he stopped chasing.
"There's no way he'd give up so easily." Sonic said, and suddenly dodged a spiky metal ball. MS was now rolled up, and Sonic couldn't touch him. Sonic kept on dodging, but MS was almost just as fast. Then, he jumped behind a tree as a flurry of spikes flew at him. They all stuck into the tree, one barely missing Sonic's neck. Then, Sonic heard a popping sound. He span out of the way as a missile blasted the tree to smithereeens. Sonic was getting MS very angry. More lasers, bullets, spines and missiles flew. Sonic was barely missing getting killed. Suddenly, a hoop flew at Sonic, and wrapped around his legs.
"Now, you die." MS said, and opened his arm cannons. He pointed them straght at Sonic. MS looked at the now defenseless Sonic, and suddenly that odd feeling came to him again. "I-i-i m-m-ust o-obey." MS stuttered. This pause gave Sonic enough time to free himself and smash MS with a spin attack.
"My turn!" Sonic yelled, throwing a punch that knocked MS back. He then used his spin again, and then spun some dirt onto MS. Unfortunately, he was dust-proofed. He then fired his largest, most powerful missile. It flew past Sonic, and forward to a little girl who had heard the commotion. She could only gasp as the missile flew at her at blinding speed. And Sonic was too tired to save her.
"NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Sonic yelled, running as fast as possible when he was tired. Suddenly, there was a blue streak that ran past Sonic and pushed the girl out of harm's way. The missile struck the figure, and there was an explosion and a loud, metallic shriek. Sonic ran to the girl. "What happened?" he asked the girl.
"That blue metal guy saved me from the bomb...." she said "He pushed me away, and let himself get hit. Look, there he is!"
Sonic looked at the figure. It was..... MS. His right side was blown away, his wires sparking. He had both legs, but had lost his right arm, but not the left. And the right side of his face.... it was torn to shreds, his spines were all broken off. He also had cracks throughout the rest of his shell.
"Why?" Sonic said.
"Because she was too young and innocent to die." MS said, his voice filled with static "Such a beautiful child. It would have been...... a dishonor...... to destroy her. Unlike my earlier models, I was given a high-quality personality chip. It gave me feelings of honor. My honor was in my mission to destroy you. But now I see how wrong I was. It all started with my training and a doll of your partner. So young..... so innocent. But my mind was clouded by Eggman's control, so it made me try to forget and I destroyed the doll. My master..... this "Eggman".... he has NO HONORrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......" With that, he fell on his knees, and began to spark slightly less and his eyes began to shut off. He then fell to his side.
"Mister Sonic, you gotta help him!" the girl squeaked "Please, Mister Sonic..."
"I may know just the dude." Sonic said, and lifted the body. It was somewhat heavy. Suddenly, the girl came back with a wagon. Sonic placed MS inside, and took the girl and the wagon to Knothole..... and Rotor.

Minutes later....
"I can try and fix him." Rotor said "But if he doesn't make it or goes berzerk on us, he'll have to be scrapped. If you said what he said is true, I may be able to fix his personality chip a little and make him less aggressive. Wait here, you two." Sonic and the girl sat down, and patiently yet nervously waited for any result.

About 3 hours later..... Rotor came out of his workshop.
"Well?" Sonic asked.
Rotor looked at him. "He-he..... He's all right. Would you like to go see him? Toldja i'm the best mechanic!"
Sonic and the girl went into the room. In the shadows stood a tall, lanky figure. It then stepped out. It was MS! Rotor had made him more humanoid, got rid of the hedgehog looks, and full-color seeing eyes. His pointed nose was now on his head, not a snout.
"Is that you, mister?" the girl asked.
"Yes, child, it is me." MS said "The once and former Mecha Sonic is gone, but his heart and soul remain. I will now work to help you defeat the Eggman's tyranny. I am Metaru."
The girl looked at Metaru in awe. She opened her arms and went to hug her hero. Her bright pink wings opened, and she nuzzled Metaru with her beak. She was a Flicky Bird. A beautiful, bright, cheerful Flicky. "Metaru..." she said "Thank you."
"I never got your name, little girl." Metaru said.
"It's Flora." she chirped.
"It's nice to meet you..... Flora." Metaru said with a smile, and patted her on the head. Flora could only smile at her hero.
