Knuckles and the Chaotix go up against the Dark Legion and a new enemy.

EVIL INTENTIONS
Chapter One: Arrival

Knuckles and the Chaotix were walking to the food court to get some lunch. The island had been quiet for the past few weeks, giving them plenty of free time. The last thing that happened was Dr. Robotnik's attack on the island and its Master Emerald and the release of Chaos. At the end, Knuckles and Chaos had become good friends after Super Sonic cleaned Perfect Chaos' clock. Chaos had found a home at Lake Nessie, whith which he shares it with his girlfriend, Tikal.

"Man, Knux." Espio sighed "It's been awfully quiet around here since the incident with Chaos."

"Good." Knuckles sighed "I hope it stays that way."

Suddenly, there was an explosion.

"Crap, I spoke too soon!" Knux sighed "Let's see what's up!"

When they turned the corner, they saw several legionnaires shooting windows and hydrants, all laughing as they went.

"Stop right there!" Knux yelled.

"Yeah!" Julie-su added "You can do this the easy way..."

"I think we'll do this the HARD WAY!" one of the DL snapped, and started firing at the Chaotix. They jumped behind mailboxes or back around the corner. But, then there were more Legionnaires in hovercrafts that had just came to the other street. They blasted the MBs and some of the walls. The Chaotix had to fight back. Ray, Charmy, and Knuckles went after the ships, while the others went after the ones on the street. Knux smashed one ship out of the sky, and then konked out the pilots before they could react. Ray and charmy were having a grand time dodging the laser blasts, when Julie-su blasted the bottoms of both ships. Espio went invisible and began knocking heads together. But one had an infrared scanner, and whapped Espio with a fist, making him lose his disguise. But, before the DL could shoot, Mighty tossed another DL at him/her. Julie was now in a firefight with one persistant DL. But she finally managed to shoot the blaster out of their hand. More ships came, and were blastedout of the sky by several EST officers that had just appeared. Soon, the DLers had to fall back because their numbers were a lot fewer due to their arrests during the election incident.

"It's about time, Constable." Knux joked "What took you so long?"

"We weren't expecting this." Remington replied "This was quite a surprise."

Suddenly, the constable's comlink beeped. He picked it up.

"Yes?" he asked.

"We've got some more trouble on the outskirts of town." the other officer replied "These legionnaires seem to be getting cocky. Wonder if this was planned..." Suddenly, there was a yelp, and the comlink got staticky.

"Guardian!" Rem yelled "There's more of 'em on the outskirts! And my contact just went offline! We gotta get over there!"

"We're on it!" Knux replied "Archy, to the outskirts!"

"Right, Knuckles!" Archy smiled.

With a loud "BAMF!", the Chaotix were gone.

They appeared in the middle of the chaos. Both sides were fighting back, but the EST seemed to have the upper hand.

"Guardian!" one officer yelled "We seem to be driving them back a bit! Help us!" They got behind the barricade, and Julie joined in on the shootout.

"Knux, don't you think we should be doing something?" Vector asked.

"Not unless you want to get shot, Vec." Mighty answered.

The EST were driving back the DL. They were decreasing in number, and many of the ships were blasted out of the sky.

"We need reinforcements!" one DL yelled.

"Yeah, but the reinforcements were just attacked and captured!" another said "We don't have enough troops!"

"We've got them on the run!" Julie cheered.

And she was quite right. The DLers were beginning to run away, some still firing.

"I think that's it!" Remington said, coming in his cruiser "We got the others out of the city, so i think with this many captured or killed, I don't think they'll have enough to make any attack for a long...."

But the constable was stopped by a loud rumbling sound. Something was coming from where the DLs had run to.

"Is that thunder?" Ray asked.

"Sounds like it, kid." Vector replied "Maybe it's gonna rain!"

"I don't think that's thunder......" Julie said, looking through her binoculars "It's.... it's....."

"It's what?" Mighty asked.

"It's a battle cruiser!" Julie yelled. She was right, a giant, black vehicle was coming, and now everyone could see it. So, they began to run back. The thing stopped short of the barricades.

"That thing is MASSIVE!" Charmy squeaked "Since when did the DL have one of THOSE?!"

"They never have!" Julie replied in concern "We do have the technology, but I doubt they could ever get enough materials to buld one!"

"It's just a giant van." Vector replied. But no sooner as he had said this, therewas a humming. Bay doors were opening, and suddenly, bunches of robots ran or flew out. They all lined up in ranks.

"Those robots..... aren't Legion design at all!' Julie cried out "They look more like Robotniforce bots!"

"ROBOTNIFORCE?!" the Chaotix yelled out.

"But that's impossible!" Knux said "Robotnik and Dimitri hate each other's bionic guts! Why would they join forces?!"

"Maybe they DIDN'T!" Julie yelled "What if theseare the creations of someone else?! What if the DL has a new technician or something? Someone who had knowledge of Robotniforce designs?"

Suddenly, the robots attacked. The EST tried to blast them, but the shots bounced off. They blasted several ESTers with shots of taser fire. They weren't killing machines yet, they were just KO robots! But the shots could still blow up vehicles and destroy property. The Chaotix and EST members with riot gear rushed the robots. They began bashing the robots.

"No!" one officer yelled "There's too many!"

They were right. Even though Mighty was tossing robots at each other, and the others were kicking butt, there were too many. This was even worse than with the full Legion. Suddenly, Julie kicked one of the bots while it was firing, the blasts hitting some of the others, destroying them.

"That's it!!!" Knux yelled "Make them hit each other!"

With that, they began to do just that. Directing blasts into other robots or having the rolling ones smash into others was a great tactic. Some of the explosions even caused chain reactions, destroying a cluster of bots at once. And the hitting was great, too. Soon, there was multitudes of metal bits and pices lining the streets and near the cruiser. Some of the bots even ran off. The actions they were taking had done it! Now there were very few still completely online. Suddenly, the bots that were left shut down. Now there was total silence....
Which was suddenly broken by wicked and maniacal laughter. It was getting louder, and the hum of an elevator was heard. Then on the front end of the cruiser, 5 shadowy figures appeared.

"What the--?!" Knux gasped.

"Who or what on Mobius are they?!" Mighty hissed.

"HA HA HA HAAAAAA!" laughed the middle, echidna-shaped figure "I see why Grandfather Dimitri was having real trouble with you! You are quite excellent fighters and strategists! Especially when you went up against MY robots."

"It must be the new technician!" Julie said.

"Technician?' the figure scoffed "TECHNICIAN?! Moreover like my grandfather's newest right-hand echidna! Besides, I'm this team's captain, I already have a technician, who did help design these robots. I guess we should introduce ourselves now in this charming and captivating comedy of errors!"
Suddenly, the figures became not shadowy, but clearer as the sun suddenly came up over the cruiser.

"My technician.... Kandas!" he announced, revealing a long dreadlocked, purple female echidna.
"My assistant and partial brother, Vortex!" and a vulture was revealed, still partially in the shadows but could be seen a lot better.
"My enforcer...... Deke Johaneson, but you can call him 'DJ' for short!" revealing a green velociraptor with metal claws on his feet and a headset similar to Vector's, but with a mic.
"My munitions expert and my darling fiancee, Tiarana!" revealing a coyote in a catsuit and specs.
"And of course, MYSELF..... Lord Desmond!" he laughed, coming from the shadows "I am the next heir to Dimitri and your worst nightmare come true! His metallic claw and eyebrows shone brightly in the sun. He was also wearing specs.

The Chaotix stared at these new menaces, and they stared at them. Something was about to commence.
