DEATHSCYTHE WISH
Part 2: General's Offensive

Knuckles discovers his mother has been kidnapped and must rescue her, but Deathscythe won't make it easy!

Knuckles flew through the air towards Echidna owers to pay his mom a visit. He suddenly sensed something was wrong when he saw EST vehicles parked at the apartment building. He quickly flew in the window, and found Wyn lying on the floor quite dazed.
"Wyn, what happened?" Knuckles asked concernedly.
"The Legion came..." Wyn groaned "And your mother.... they took her. I'm.... sorry."
With that, the EST came in through the broken door. they were ready for anything, as they pointed out their guns. They saw the guardian. Constable Remington came in behind them.
"What happened, Guardian?" Rem asked.
"The Dark Legion kidnapped mom!" he yelled "I came in through the window when i saw all the commotion."
"The Legion has never tried this before." Rem said "I wonder why they'd do it now. This is odd."
"I can tell you why...." Wyn said "There was this new guy with them. Carried a scythe and he had a taser, which he used on me. Must've used the scythe to cut down the door. He also had this odd laugh, that was the last thing I heard before I fell unconcious. Three hehs followed by a couple of has."
"Anything else?" the constable asked.
"No, that was it." Wyn sighed.
"Now, guardian....." Rem said, and looked in surprise as Knuckles was gone "It's personal now, I guess."

Knuckles flew off in the direction of the old legion fortress, to find answers. Suddenly, Ray appeared as well as Charmy.
"W-w-what's g-g-going on g-g-guardian?" Ray asked "Y-y-you d-d-don't seem t-t-too h-h-happy."
"Yeah, what's the problem, Knux?" Charmy asked
"The Dark Legion kidnapped mom." Knuckles said "i'm going to the old legion base to see if I can find any answers there. Seems like a good a place to look as any."
"Can we come along?" Charmy asked.
"No." Knuckles said "This is personal business that i shall take care of myself. But, I'll call you if I need you. Go tell the others."
"G-g-gotcha." Ray said "C-c-come on Ch-ch-charmy."
With that, they flew away. Knuckles sighed and continued on.

When he got to the ruins of the base, he could see no sign of life, just broken robots and hovercrafts. Knuckles walked in the direction of the Great Hall. When he got there, it was empty and smashed up. Suddenly, he heard a noise. He ducked behind a scaffolding, and looked out from behind it. It was just a venegaroon crawling around on the ground. Knuckles sighed, and continued. He came up to the podium when something caught his eye. A legionnaire was snooping around. Knuckles yelled at the DL and ran up to them.
"All right, what are you doing here?" he snarled.
"Same as I would ask you, Guardian." the DL hissed.
"Where's my mom?!" Knuckles growled "Where is she?!"
"You're looking for yer mum, eh?" she asked "Yeah, I heard that they were planning to kidnap her, but I left before they carried out the mission."
"Any idea where I can find her?" Knux asked.
"Probably the Lava Reef base." she answered "It's located in the volcano where the Death Egg crashed."
With that, Knuckles flew up and through a hole in the cieling to the outside, and headed for Devil's Cone. When he got there, he found the door with a little bit of luck. The entrance was right above a lava pool. Knuckles went to the entrance, and it automatically opened. Whoever it was was expecting him. But when he got inside, the security system was tight. He had to dodge past spikeballs, blades, laser fire, and pits.
After smashing his way through a few troopers, he came to another door, which he entered. There, there was a dark room. Knuckles could hardly see when suddenly a bunch of bright lights came on. He was surrounded my a whole mess of armed troopers. Suddenly, they moved aside in one area, and in walked their leader. He was just as Wynmacher described, only a bit more menacing. He also wore a faceplate, and spiked shoulder pads.
"So you've made it." he chuckled "I am quite impressed. Heh heh heh."
"Where's my mom, you creep?" Knuckles snarled.
"She's fine." he said, anda few troopers brought Lra in. She was held by the troopers, but had no physical signs of damage. She seemed quite okay.
"Mom, I'm glad you're all right." he said "What did they do?"
"They held me prisoner in a little room, but it was quite comfortable and they served me whatever I asked." Lara answered "But I just wanted to get away from them. I just wanted to get back home."
"Alright...." Knux snarled "Let her go!"
"Hmmm....." the general thought "No. You and your family must pay for your insolence. And I'm the one who's gonna teach you a lesson. I heard you were good. I wish to see just how good you are." With that, 2 of the troopers removed his cloak, revealing a somewhat well-built Dark Legionnaire. He had a holdster with a blaster in it, and high combat boots. He had a general's uniform as well. He had his scythe on a holdster on his back. He took a stance.
"Make the first move." the DL commanded.
Knuckles rushed at him, fists closed and ready. But his punches were blocked and dodged very quickly He then got a punch that knocked him back. He replied with a swing, which made slight contact. It knocked the DL back, and then he took his chance and used a kick, which was grabbed by the general's hand, and was slammed on the floor. He gave a foot sweep, which the DL lept over and rocketed a way away. He had rocket boots as well it semed. Suddenly, Knux dodged as the general began firing rapid laser blasts. Knuckles flew around, trying to dodge with some success. Then, he decided this was his chance, and used his windmill punch, which knocked the general through the air. He then gave a few hits, and grabbed the blaster away, and smashed it on the ground. Knuckles looked. The general's hood was torn, and several blue spines jutted from the tears. The faceplate was also cracked, and some of his face could be seen. Knuckles suddenly realized this was no ordinary echidna legionnaire he was dealing with.... he wasn't an echidna at all!
"What?" Knus gasped "Y-y-you're no echidna.... you're a HEDGEHOG!"
With that, the general took of his hood, revealing the head of a hedgehog. Some of his spikes were metal, as was his left eyebrow.
"Guilty as charged." JW snarled, and then ran at Knux and began pounding him. Knuckles tried a few hits, but JW was now using his training to its fullest. Punches and kicks slammed Knux around. Suddenly, there was a whoosh. Knuckles dodged just in time to avoid the blade of the scythe. JW rushed Knux again, Knux dodging and jumping the swipes of the blade. Then, Knux got the staff end of the scythe in the gut. He fell to his knees, and soon felt the hard hit of a kick from the boots. JW kicked Knux again and again, and then, the blade flashed as JW raised it up.
"Goodbye Guardian....." JW said menacingly "Heh heh heh hahahahahahahahahaha........."
