Sword of Chaos

Thunder flashed as Prince Elias walked through the Great Unknown. His journey taking him from Knothole Kingdom, through the Great Forest, and half way through the Great Unknown. The Great Unknown was little more than a desert wasteland. With few oasis and little resource, the area has been left virtually alone by both the Freedom Fighters and Robotnik. Elias sat down next to a rock outcropping. The rock was cold due to the cool breeze following the storm. The thunder came from a dry storm, No rain, just thunder and lightning. The squirrel brushed some dirt from his clothes, which were starting to show signs of ware. Elias sighed, He didn’t even want to come to this region, but something was calling him. He didn’t know what. He just felt something. Elias sighed once more and stood up. His blue eyes scanned the horizon. Sand, rocks, boulders, and a whole lot of nothing. He took a deep breath, the air couldn’t have been dryer. He continued walking. After an hour of walking, he came to a huge rock formation. It rose a good thirty feet up. He looked around. A small cave leading down was in the center of the rock face. Elias walked to the entrance, he looked down it. A small, cold wind, blew out of the cave, causing Elias’s brown fur to tingle. He didn’t like the feeling he got from the cave, but he had come to far to turn back. He walked into the cave. A few feet in he saw a roughly made stair case leading down. Elias drew his knife from his belt and walked down. The air in the cave was cool and refreshing. He went down about fifty feet before reaching the bottom. A strange glow filled the room. A sword handle was sticking out of the far wall of the cave. Elias walked to the handle. A strange voice filled the cave, “Welcome Prince Elias Acorn.” Elias stepped back, “How do you know my name?” The voice got a little louder, “I know all. I know of your failure at Knothole Kingdom. I know of why you ran. I can help you.” Elias looked around, “How?” The voice grew quieter, “I can give you power. More power than the Sword of Acorns that refused to obey you. More than even Sonic the Hedgehog.” Elias put his knife back in its sheath on his belt, “What must I do?” The voice chuckled, “Pull out the sword. Simple.” Elias slowly grabbed the sword’s handle, he took a deep breath. He pulled hard. The sword slid free. Elias held it up. The sword looked just like the Sword of Acorns, accept for the fact the blade was a darker metal and the handle was silver. A black light flashed from the sword. It washed over Elias, “Fool. Now I am free.” Before Elias could speak the cave exploded. As the smoke cleared, Elias stepped out of the rubble. His fur was now gray and his eyes glowed a deep red. The sword was clutched tightly in his right hand. “Free. Free once again to smite all of existence with my dark power.” He floated up into the air. “He raised his head up and yelled, “You all better watch out, Bojack is back baby.” He flew off into the night.

Bojack flew through the night sky, toward Angle Island. He smiled, “Ah! So that where the Master Emerald lies. The elders were right to hid it from me, but now I will make it mine.” He landed on the edge of the island. He stood still for a moment, “My powers are still weak. I better wait to fully restore my powers, before I try for the emerald.” He closed his eyes and reached out with his mind. He smiled, “There is a powerful person on this island. I will add his power to my own. “ Bojack looked down at his clothes. The traveler outfit was dusty and torn. “But first I think I will get some knew clothes.” He walked in to the Mushroom Forest, toward Echidnaopolis. As he entered the city limits, he spotted a clothing store, “Bingo.”

The echidna at the desk in the clothing store was surprised by the entrance of the squirrel with the sword. He stood up and went to greet the new costumer, “ Welcome to Leon’s Tailors. How can I assist you?” The squirrel looked around, “I need a fighting suit, that also looks good.” The echidna bowed, “Yes sir. I think we have just the thing.” He lead Bojack to the fitting room and gave him a box, “I think this is perfect for you sir.” Bojack’s red eyes went from the box to the echidna, “Will see.” He went into the fitting room. After a few minutes, Bojack exited the fitting room and went to a mirror. The suit consisted of a black jumpsuit, red boots, a red belt, and red gloves. The echidna stepped up, “What do you think?” Bojack picked up his sword and pointed to a pile of leather. A beam of energy shot out of the sword and turned the pile of leather in to a sword sheath. He strapped it over his shoulder and put the sword in it, “ It is sufficient.” The echidna shook of the surprise of the sheath’s creation, “I glad you like it.” The echidna walked to the register, “So how will you be paying. Cash, check, or charge.” Bojack’s eyes glowed. He raised his right hand and pointed his palm at the echidna, “Here is your payment.” Red energy shot out of Bojack’s hand. It slammed into the echidna and slammed him into a wall. The echidna slumped to the ground. Bojack smiled, “Keep the change.” He walked out of the store. It was late and there were few people about the city. He floated up into the sky, “Now for the powerful one.” He shot toward the Mushroom Forest.”

Espio the Chameleon walked through the Mushroom Forest looking for the others. The Mushroom Forest consisted of a few trees and giant mushrooms every where. As he looked around, Espio’s blue eyes caught something out the corner of his eyes. Espio activated his camouflage ability. He virtually disappeared. He looked around. After a few minutes, Espio gave up, “Must have been my imagination.” He deactivated his camouflage. As he was about to search for his friends again, but someone blindsided him and slammed him into a tree. Espio looked up and saw a gray squirrel standing over him, “Who are you? What do you want?” The squirrel laughed, “I am the great Bojack. I have use for your camouflage ability.” The purple chameleon stood up, “What are you talking about?” Bojack drew his sword, “You’ll see.” He pointed the sword at Espio and a beam of red energy shot out. It caught Espio in the chest and sent him flying. Espio bounced off a giant mushroom and landed on the ground. In one jump, Bojack landed next to Espio. Espio tried to get up, but Bojack slammed the hilt of his sword into Espio’s face. Espio fell to the ground, out cold. Bojack pointed the tip of his sword at Espio. A multi colored beam shot out and enveloped Espio. With a flash of multi colored light, the chameleon turned into a fist size Chaos Emerald. Bojack re- sheathed his sword and picked up the purple emerald. He laughed, “One down. Six to go.” The emerald flashed and entered Bojack’s body. Bojack probed Espio’s memories, “Ah the name of my target is Knuckles the Echidna. Guardian of the Master Emerald. His power will be a welcomed addition to my own.” Bojack activated his new found camouflage ability. He snuck off to find Knuckles.
Knuckles the Echidna landed in a clearing near the Mushroom Forest. He looked around. Nothing as usual. His patrol had become more of a ritual than an actual job. The Master Emerald had more than enough guards in Echidnaopolis, but he is the guardian, this is his job, his life, and his legacy. The red echidna looked around the surrounding area one more time, “Nothing here as usual.” He sighed in boredom and walked to a near by giant mushroom. The plan was simple, jump on the mushroom, get high into the air and glide to the next area. As Knuckles was about to jump on the mushroom, he slammed into the ground. Knuckles quickly recovered and flipped to his feet. Knuckles looked around franticly, “What happen?” A mocking laugh sounded out of the mushroom. Knuckles’s purple eyes locked onto the mushroom. A squirrel appeared on top of it. He jumped down, in front of Knuckles. Knuckles stepped back in shock, “Prince Elias! What are you doing here?” The squirrel laughed, “Sorry. I am afraid you got me mixed up with someone else.” Before Knuckles could respond, the squirrel punched Knuckles right into the face. Knuckles flew back a few feet and landed hard on the ground. The squirrel drew his sword, “My name is Bojack.” He pointed the sword at Knuckles, “I hope fighting you will give me more sport. Your chameleon friend was to easy.” Knuckles stood up, “What did you do to Espio?” Bojack smiled, “Where do you think I got my camouflage ability?” Knuckles rushed Bojack with a fury of punches, Knuckles was a great fighter, but with Espio’s agility augmenting his own, Bojack was able to avoid each attack. Knuckles threw a right hook, but Bojack ducked it and drove his palm into Knuckles’s neck. Knuckles fell down, struggling to breath. Bojack laughed, “It only took my right hand to take you down.” He tossed his sword from one hand to the other, “Didn’t even have to use my sword.” Knuckles smiled, “ I ain’t done yet.” Knuckles swept his left foot up and knocked Bojack down. The sword flew out of Bojack’s hand and landed a few feet away. Knuckles jumped up, “It is going to take more than a cheap shot to take me down.” Bojack rose to his feet, “ Maybe. But the game isn’t over.” Bojack tried a spinning kick, but Knuckles caught it and pushed him down. Bojack cursed and jumped up. As he got to his feet, Knuckles punched him back down. Knuckles smiled, “ With out your sword, you can’t fight.” Bojack pointed his right palm at Knuckles, “Maybe. But then again.” A red beam shot out and slammed in to Knuckles’s chest. Knuckles was slammed into the air and hit a tree so hard it fell over. Bojack stood up and wiped some blood from his mouth. He turned and walked to his sword. As he was about to pick it up, Knuckles yelled out. Bojack turned to see Knuckles standing with his right fist pointed toward him, “Thunder Arrow!” A bolt of green lightning shot out of Knuckles’s fist and hit Bojack in the chest. Bojack flew through the air, bounced of a giant mushroom, and fell to the ground. Knuckles fell to the ground on one knee, he was breathing hard, “Hard to use that move with out a Chaos Emerald.” Knuckles stood up and walked to the sword, “Now what is so special about this sword?” He bent and grasped the handle. Black bolts of energy shot out and attacked Knuckles. The bolts shot in and out of his body. Knuckles was blasted back and hit the ground hard. Knuckles managed to look up and see Bojack pick up the sword. He walked over to Knuckles with a slight limp, “You see. Don’t you see? You can’t win.” He kicked Knuckles in the face with his good left leg. Knuckles was knocked cold. Bojack smiled, “Now for your power.” He pointed a finger at Knuckles. A multi color beam shot out and turned Knuckles into a red Chaos Emerald. Bojack picked it up and absorbed it. In flash of red light, Bojack grew sharp knuckles on his hands. Dreadlocks grew at a fast rate from his head. When the light was gone, Bojack stood completely healed. He laughed, “Now the guardian’s powers and abilities are mine.” He scanned Knuckles memories. After reviewing all of the memories. He smiled, “Well there are more individuals to increase my power.” He looked toward Echidnaopolis, “I will be back when my power is at full.” Bojack ran to the edge of the island and jumped off. His new dreadlocks caught the wind and he glided to his next target.

Bojack landed at the edge of the hidden city by sun up. He looked around the base of the mountain the city was hidden in. After a few minutes he found the secret entrance. A circular door locked with a electronic lock. Fortunately for Bojack, Knuckles had known the code. He punched in the sequence into the keypad. The door opened out ward, “Excellent.” Bojack walked in and closed the door. He walked down a large passage way until he reached the end. He opened the door and walked into the street. He looked around, “Now where is that hedgehog.” The city was just waking up. As he walked around, Bojack saw a black hedgehog jump from one roof to the other. Bojack smiled, “Bingo.” Bojack slammed his new pointed knuckles into the wall of a building and climbed up it. He spotted the black hedgehog jumping to another building. He smiled, activated his camouflage ability and started to sneak up on the hedgehog.

Shadow walked to the edge of the ten story apartment building and looked around the city. It was almost morning. He looked to the east. The fake sun was just starting to rise. He smiled, “Another quiet night. Guess I’ll turn in.” Before Shadow could head home, something grabbed his neck and flung him into the flat roof of the building. Shadow stood up as Bojack de-activated his camouflage. The squirrel smiled, “Well Well. The mighty Shadow the Hedgehog. I have come for your power.” Shadow glared at his opponent, “Who the hell are you?” Bojack’s response was to punch Shadow hard in the face. Shadow flew through the air and landed on the edge of the building. The black hedgehog had barely enough time to look up before the squirrel jumped and landed on him. The squirrel slammed his right foot onto Shadow’s neck. He pushed only enough to keep Shadow in check. Bojack pulled out his sword and pointed it at Shadow, “My name is Bojack. And your life is mine.” Before Bojack could activate his sword, Shadow vanished in a flash of green light. “What?” Bojack yelled. As Bojack looked around, Shadow jumped kicked him in the back. Bojack was thrown from the building and landed on the one next to it. He quickly got up and turned to face Shadow. The black hedgehog was tossing a green Chaos Emerald in one hand, “You may have had the upper hand at the start, but you just surprised me.” Shadow pointed the emerald at Bojack, “No I am going to take you down.” The emerald flashed green. Shadow yelled, ”Chaos Spear!” Several yellow energy bolts shot out of the emerald, aimed at Bojack. Bojack didn’t have time to react. The bolts hit Bojack with huge force. Bojack was blown from the roof and landed hard on the ground. Bojack rose to his feet. A car turned from behind the corner and was about to hit him. With one slash, Bojack sliced the car in two. The driver managed to jump out of his half of the car before it exploded. People were appearing everywhere after hearing the explosions. Bojack got an idea as Shadow appeared on the roof above. With on swipe of the sword, a blade of energy appeared and blasted part of a near by building. Rubble started to rain down on some people below. Shadow clutched his emerald, “Chaos Control!” Shadow warped from the top of the building to below the rubble. He managed to push everyone out of the way, before the rubble hit him. Everybody gasped as Bojack walked to the rubble. Shadow managed to pull himself out of the rubble. He could barely stand. He was cut and bleeding almost everywhere. Bojack laughed, “I guess your weak enough to capture. As he raised his sword, someone flew out of the sky and delivered a kick to Bojack’s right cheek. Bojack fell to the ground. He looked up. A white furred bat stood in front of him. Her aqua eyes focused on Bojack. She held up a Chaos Emerald, “Black Wave!” A black wave shot out of the emerald and blew Bojack along the ground and into a parked car. It exploded. The bat ran to Shadow and helped him up. Shadow looked at her, “Rouge? Is that you?” Rouge smiled, “Yes.” Before she could move him, Bojack burst out of the flaming car. His clothes were singed and burnt, but there wasn’t a mark on the squirrel, “Bad mistake my dear.” A black bot of energy shot out of his sword and ran through Rouge. She was blasted back and her head hit hard on some rubble. She passed out. “Rouge!” Shadow yelled. Shadow turned to face Bojack. Bojack sprinted the distance in one second and slammed right into Shadow. Shadow fell to the ground next to Rouge. Bojack laughed, “ Two for the price of one.” He pointed his sword and turned both Shadow and Rouge into emeralds. Bojack absorbed both of them. He fell to the ground screaming as two bat like wings grew out of his back. When it was over, Bojack rose to his feet laughing, “Not bad. Not bad at all.” He re-sheathed his sword and looked around. People were staring at him. Bojack shot into the sky. “Shadow’s chaos powers are amazing.” He pointed his fist to the ceiling of the hidden city, “Chaos Spear!” Yellow beams of energy shot out of his right fist and blew a hole into the ceiling. He flew out and hovered in mid air for a second. He looked to the west, “Robotropolis. Robotnik lives there. He has no powers that I can use, but his incredible mind and resources will make capturing the Master Emerald easier.” Bojack nodded his mind made up. He flew toward Robotropolis.

It was morning when Bojack reached Robotropolis. The thick pollution filled clouds over the city made it appear to be night though. As Bojack entered the city’s perimeter, automated laser cannons locked on to him. Bojack smiled, “Small fries.” Fifteen cannons fired at him. The green laser beams shot all around him as Bojack avoided them. He pointed his fist at the city, “Chaos Spear!” Several yellow beams fire out of his fist. Each beam destroys a laser cannon. With the laser cannons destroyed, Bojack flew closer. As he approached the large egg shaped command building, several objects flew at him. Ten red and white Swatbots on hover cycles flew at him. They fired the twin energy cannons on their cycles. Bojack dodged then and threw up his left palm, “Black Wave!” A black wave of energy shot out and smashed into the Swatbots. They all explode. Bojack flies at the Command Building. “Thunder Arrow!” A bolt of lightning shoots out and blows a hole into the side of the building. He flies in and stands on the floor. He was in a huge corridor. “Which way?” Bojack asks himself. As he decides, a six foot domed head robot walks toward him holding a laser rifle. Bojack turns toward the dark gray robot and looks into its red visor, “What do you want?” The Swatbot pointed his rifle at him, “By order of Robotnik, you are to come with me.” Bojack raised his hands, “What ever you say.” The Swatbot lead Bojack to Robotnik’s command room. The fat dictator was sitting in his command chair. It swiveled around to face him. Bojack looked at the fat man. He was stroking his orange mustache, “My My Prince Elias. What do I owe the pleasure of your visit?” Bojack smiled, “My name is Bojack, you fat stupid ass.” Robotnik’s red eyes narrowed, “You may have a new fur color and some new powers, but you can’t fool me.” Bojack jumped into the air and landed on Robotnik’s stomach. The Swatbot was going to fire, but Robotnik waved him down. Robotnik chuckled, “What do you plan to accomplish by this little feat?” A blade shot out of Robotnik’s robotic left arm and he slashed at Bojack. In one quick motion, Bojack drew his sword and sliced Robotnik’s left arm off in one swing. Fear appeared on Robotnik's face. Bojack smiled, “Your mind is mine.” A beam shot out of Bojack’s left hand and turned him into a emerald. He absorbed it. He closed his eyes and absorbed the information. The Swatbot stood there puzzled. Bojack turned and in Robotnik’s voice, “Stand down and return to station.” The Swatbot turned and walked out. Bojack turned to a computer panel, “Come out Snively.” The short long nosed man walked out from behind the panel. Bojack smiled and walked to him, “How would you like ultimate power?” Snively smiled, “I’m in.”

Two days later, Snively walked into Bojack’s lab. He had converted Robotnik’s old lab to his own use. Bojack was sitting at a desk working on a computer. He looked up at Snively, “What is it, Snively?” Snively gulped, Ah sir. I was wondering what you are going to do about Knuckles and Shadow’s friends?” Bojack smiled, “Simple my friend. I contacted the Angel Island and in Knuckles’s voice, I simply told them he was going on a trip. And besides that tailor I killed is most likely filling their small minds at the moment. And as for Shadow I simply called the president of the hidden city and told him it was a test. The fool wants so much to believe they are separate from the outside world. It was to easy.” Snively smiled, “Very wise sir.” Bojack stood up and motion to a large screen, “Behold my creation.” On the screen a Swatbot was shone, but it was different. Toping only five foot five, a single eye, and a large shield. Snively looked from the screen to his new boss, “Sir. I am afraid I don’t understand.” Bojack chuckled, “Behold. The Swatbot Mark 2. Faster, stronger, and smarter. These new versions are vastly superior to any other Swatbot. With only five of these, you will hunt down Speed and kill him.” Snively gave Bojack a puzzled look, “Why kill him? Can’t you simply absorb him like the others?” Bojack sat down and pulled out his sword, “Because Robotnik’s idea to create a being with Sonic’s and Knuckles’s powers was foolish. And besides I can only absorb seven people. Speed’s abilities are just copies of Sonic and Knuckles. I have Knuckles and plan to take Sonic and Tails. I want Speed dead so he won’t interfere. Understand.” Snively nodded, “Yes sir. Of course sir, but how will I find him. He travels around the world. Rarely in the same place once.” Bojack pulled out a scanner, “I have tailored this to Speed’s unique physics. It will find him.” He handed Snively his sword, “This is the Sword of Chaos. It was my prison, but now it will amplify your power. With it you should have no trouble beating anyone.” Before Snively could grab it, Bojack added, “I am much stronger than this sword now. So don’t get any ideas. Now go.” Snively took the sword bowed and left. Bojack laughed, “Soon, Sonic and Tails will be mine. And when that is done I will be one more step closer to capturing the Master Emerald.”

It took a few hours, but Snively finely found where Speed was. It was an out laying town. Robotnik had left the majority of this area alone for the time. Snivel wondered why Bojack would think Speed was a threat, but Snively wasn’t going to ask. He looked back at the Swatbot Mark 2s in the back, “Hope these new models work. Snively's hover pod landed in the middle of the small town. Mammals of all types ran from the black egg shaped pod. Snively and the Swatbots walked into the dusty street. The town looked like a reject from a western or something. Most of the buildings were wood. Snively looked at the scanner. It showed Speed was with in twenty yards, but it didn’t say exactly where. Snively smiled, “Guess we have to draw him out.” He motioned to the Swatbots, “Swatbots destroy this town.” The red eye on all the Swatbots glowed red as they started up. Arm mounted laser cannons activated on their right arm. They picked up their shields in their left hand and they walked to a nearby building. They aimed and fired. Red beams of energy shot out and demolished the building. As the bots were aiming for a new building, a cloaked figure walked into the center of the street. Snively turned to the cloaked figure. He could see familiar black and blue sneakers from under the cloak. He called his Swatbots to him. He smiled, “Speed. Nice to see you.” A left hand came out of the cloak. Snively remembered the two sharp knuckles on his hand. Speed pulled back the hood. Snively smiled. He remembered the green hedgehog well. His deep blue eye starring at him, “Something wrong old friend?” Speed smiled, “I ain’t your friend. Your fat boss kidnapped me and turned me into a slave. So what do you want?” Snively pointed to him, “I have come to kill you. Swatbots kill him.” The Swatbots took aim and fired. Speed rolled out of the way and reviled he was holding a Chaos Emerald in his right hand, “Speed Shot!” A green beam of focused energy shot out of the emerald at Snively. Before the beam hit, a Swatbot jumped in the way and blocked with its shield. The beam only left a scorch mark on the shield. Speed jaw fell open, “What? How?” Speed didn’t get time to get an answer. The Swatbots opened fire. The shots rang out around him as he jumped in-between two buildings. Speed ran down the alley and behind a building. He had dropped the emerald. He want to retrieve it, but he couldn’t. Snively smiled, “Number five go and finish him.” One of the Swatbots ran into the alley. When it got to the end, Speed had vanished. The Swatbot’s sensor eye looked all around, but it couldn’t see him. The bot walked near a building and saw a few small puncture holes in the side. It looked up. Speed dropped from the building’s roof and landed on top of the Swatbot. He pulled out laser pistol and blasted the bot’s head off. Speed picked up the Swatbot’s shield. He took a deep breath. Speed ran into the street a full speed and fired at Snively and the Swatbots. The Swatbots blocked the shots and returned fire. Their shots bounced off the shield. One of the bots pulled out a small ball and threw it in front of Speed’s path. It exploded. Speed fell down from the force of the blast. Two of the Swatbots retuned their lasers and fire a concentrated beam of energy at Speed’s shield. The remaining two flanked Speed and fired around him to keep him pined down. The beams of energy was starting to burn through Speed’s barrowed shield. Snively laughed out load, “You fool. You thought you could beat me and my new Swatbots.” “The thought had crossed my mind.” As the shield started to heat up, two missiles slammed into the back of the two Swatbots that were firing the beams of energy. They fell to the ground and exploded. Snively turned around. A light red female echidna in a cloak was holding a small missile launcher. Snively cursed, “Who the hell are you?” The Swatbots turned to face the new enemy. Speed took advantage and dropped the burning shield. He ran at one of the Swatbots and jumped over it. He pulled a bomb out of his gun belt and slammed it into its face. The bomb exploded taking the bot’s head off. Speed ran to the echidna at full speed and picked her up and ran to the other side of town. Snively yelled, “After them!” Snively and the Swatbot ran after them. Speed rounded a few buildings and stopped behind a bar. Speed put the echidna down, “Ok I admit it. Bringing the missile was a good idea.” The echidna kissed him, “I told you.” Speed smiled, “Yeah you told me, but I had to carry it.” Speed removed his cloak. He put down his backpack and checked his gun belt. “Damn! Out of bombs.” Speed opened his bag and pulled out a slug rifle. The echidna took off her cloak. She was in black traveling boots. And she had a gun belt that matched Speed’s. She went through the backpack and pulled out a long rectangular box. She opened it and begin to assemble the pulse rifle. Speed looked up at her, “Leda. Do you think you can take that Swatbot?” Leda smiled and activated the pulse rifle, “No problem.” Speed nodded, “Ok, but don’t you dare get killed.” Leda nodded and ran off. Speed took a deep breath. He kicked the backpack away and climbed up the building. He saw some people cowering on the roof. Speed ran and jumped to another one, “Need to take this fight out of town.” Speed stopped when he spotted Snively and the last Swatbot. Snively was carrying a strange sword in his right hand. As Speed thought of what to do, Leda jumped from behind a building and fired at the pair. The Swatbot blocked the shots with it’s shield and ran after her. Leda ran off leading it away. Speed took a breath, “Be careful.” Speed’s quills opened up and he glided a few feet in front of Snively, “Just you and me small fry.” Speed raised the slug rifle. Snively sneered, “You die today rodent.” Speed smiled, “Sorry. Got other plans.” Speed pulled the trigger. The slug fired, aimed right at Snively’s head. Snively sliced it in midair with one swipe of his sword. The slug exploded. When the smoke cleared, Snively stood transformed. He was as tall as Speed now and his eyes were filled with fire. His voice had grown deeper, “You fool. No that I have the Sword of Chaos you can’t beat me.” Speed threw down the slug rifle and gulped. Snively gripped the sword in both hands and slashed the air. A blade of energy shot out and Speed barely managed to avoid it. Speed rolled on the ground and stood up. Snively laughed, “See how weak you truly are.” Black lightning bolts shot out of the sword and lashed out at Speed. It hit Speed dead on. Speed fell to his knees. Snively ran at Speed. Speed pulled out twin blaster pistols from his belt and quickly spun around and fired at Snively. Snively dodged to the left and sliced Speed’s left pistol in two. Speed dropped it and tripped Snively. Snively jumped up and delivered a kick to Speed’s face. Speed fell to the ground and Snively quickly pressed the tip of the sword into Speed’s left shoulder. Speed responded by pressing his gun into Snively’s left shoulder. Snively and Speed paused. Speed smiled, “I guess we are at a impasse.” Snively smirked, “Guess we have only one choice then.” Speed fired as Snively pressed down. Snively fell back in pain. Speed rolled to his feet and held onto his shoulder. Speed smiled, “Guess that sword can’t save you from everything.” Snively stood up and grasped his lift shoulder, “You little bastard. You’ll pay for this.” Snively pointed the sword at Speed. Black lightning lashed out. Speed jumped to the side and started to run out of town. A sphere surrounded Snively. He took off at high speed and slammed into Speed. The speed of the sphere pined Speed to it and he went along for the ride. He flew for a minute and stopped in front of a gorge. The sphere disappeared and Speed fell down. Snively calmly waited for Speed to get to his feet. His legs wobbled as he faced Snively. Snively waved bye-bye and shoved Speed into the gorge. Speed tried to glide, but he was to weakened. He hit the ground hard and was amazed he was alive. He was scratched and was bleeding. He tried to stand, but his leg was broken. He sat down. He had a raging burn in his chest, “Great. Some of my ribs are broken.” Snively walked to the edge. He pulled out a sphere bomb, “Bye.” He threw it into the gorge. The bomb went off. The explosion shook the gorge and the surrounding area. Snively nursed his shoulder as he pressed the call button on his belt. The hover pod landed next to him. He looked to the town. The echidna was running toward him. Snively blew a kiss to her and took off. Leda ran to the edge of the gorge and looked into it, “Speed. SPEED!”

Snively knelt before Bojack, “Sir, I have killed Speed.” Bojack smiled, “Good Snively. That is one problem out of the way.” Bojack noticed Snively’s shoulder, “Have problems?” Snively looked away, “That rodent just didn’t want to go down.” Bojack pointed to the wound and a small beam of white light shot out and healed the wound, “There. Don’t worry. Once you use the sword more, you’ll be stronger.” Snively nodded, “Thank you sir, but still I wonder. Why kill Speed.” Bojack laughed, “Snively, Snively, Snively you still don’t see the big picture. Speed was a mistake of Robotnik. If Robotnik wouldn’t have been so single minded, Speed would be a regular hedgehog. I wanted to erase that mistake. And besides I needed him dead so I could move on Sonic.” Snively stood up, “I still don’t see.” Bojack got out of his chair and walked over to Snively, “With his friends backing him up, Sonic is all but invincible. So I wanted to remove his friends as a threat. Now that the strongest ones are gone, he will fall.” Snively smiled,” Sorry I ever question you sir.” Bojack nodded as he went to a control panel, “You need to learn Snively. And learn you will.” Bojack pressed a few buttons, “Now that is finished, we have work to do. I have designed a few variants to the new Swatbot model. It should allow you to more easily attack Knothole.” Snively gasped, “But we don’t know where Knothole is.” Bojack smiled, “I do. Thanks to the memories of Knuckles and Shadow. I will use my newly revived powers to teleport you there. You will find and capture Sonic, Tails, and Princess Sally. I don’t care what condition Sonic or Tails are in, but they must be alive. I will absorb their powers and add them to my own.” “And the princess.” Bojack walked away, “I have need for her. I will tell you after you have done what I said.” Snively bowed, “Yes sir.”

Sonic the Hedgehog was running through Knothole Kingdom. He was pushing himself as fast as he could go. A few inches behind him was Mina Mongoose. The yellow mongoose had really gotten better since he had started teaching her how to control her speed. Tails was a few feet a head with a flag. As Sonic past by Tails dropped the flag, “The winner, Sonic.” The blue hedgehog stopped, but then Mina crashed into him. Sonic’s green eyes locked with Mina’s blue once. They were like that for a few seconds before Mina got off him. Tails ran up, “Good race.” Mina shook her head, “I still can’t stop right.” Sonic put his hand on her shoulder, “Chill. You doing much better.” Mina managed a smile, “Thanks Sonic.” She checked her watch, “Sorry I got to go.” Mina ran off. Sonic and Tails waved by. Sonic looked to his little buddy, “Want to go get a Chili Dog.” The orange fox nodded, “Ok.” The two friends started to walk toward Sonic’s house, but then they heard an explosion coming from the center of town. They looked at each other and they ran toward the sound. When they reached the center of town, they got a shock. Snively was standing in the middle of a squad of strange looking Swatbots. Eleven in all. Two were about seven feet tall and had huge plasma canons for arms. Two others were about five foot and were painted deep red and they had huge gas tanks on their backs. Two others were black and had wings and a jetpack on. One of them was painted deep red and had a strange antenna on its back. The remaining four were five foot five, green, and caring shields. Sonic looked to Tails, “How in the hell did they get here?” Tails shook his head, “Haven’t a clue. I am going to go get the Tornado.” Sonic nodded and Tails flew off. People were running away as fast as they could. The Swatbots were just looking around. Their single red glowing eye was moving around in their visors. Suddenly Snively ran off toward Castle Acorn. Sonic wanted to chase him down, but he was sure the castle guards would handle him, “Snively is being daring today.” Sonic jumped down near the Swatbots, “Hey medal heads. What are you doing in my home?” Every bot looked at him. The one with the antenna yelled, “Capture the hedgehog.” Two of the green ones jumped at him. Sonic moved as the Swatbots landed next to him. Sonic jumped a few feet away. Sonic was going to throw a wise crack, but the other two green one grabbed him from the sides. The held him up. Sonic tried to move, but the bots were to strong. just then the two bot that were holding him, heads blew off. Sonic fell to the ground and looked around. Tails fell from the sky, his plane the Tornado transformed into its assault walker mode. The other Swatbots scattered as Tails aimed the rocket launcher. Sonic smiled as Tails tossed him a power ring, “What took you?” Tails smiled, “Had to make sure the area was clear of people before I brought the heavy guns.” Sonic nodded, “Good luck, bro.” Tails nodded. Sonic ran off and Tails began his search.

Snively ran through the town, pushing the few people out of the way. He was confident the Swatbots could take Sonic and Tails. He had to capture another prize. The Castle Acorn rose in front of him. It was made of gray stone and had a few balconies and windows. As Snively approached the castle gates, two badgers holding spears blocked his path. Snively drew the Sword of Chaos. He swung it. A black energy blade shot out and sliced both of them. The fell to the ground, alive, but very hurt. Snively jumped the gate and landed in the court yard. Four beavers ran at him. Snively waited till they were close. He looked to the sky and held the sword close. He yelled out load, “Energy Field!” A dome of energy grew from Snively and slammed the four beavers far away. The dome vanished and Snively ran at the castle door. He jumped into the air and brought it down with one jump kick. The door fell on a couple of guards on the other side. Snively ran trough the castle taking out any of the guards that got in his way. he burst into the main hall. The King and his family were at the other end. Snively smiled, “Too easy.” Snively calmly walked to the throne. He gave a mocking bow, “Princess. You will come with me!” The king rolled his wheel chair in front of Sally, “How dare you come into my home, harm my guards, and now demand my daughter?” Snively smiled, “ Because I have real power.” Snively hand shot up and backhanded the king. The king was flung from his wheelchair and landed hard on the floor a few feet away. Queen Alicia Acorn and Sally tried to run to him, but were stopped by Snively’s blade, “Princess. Please come with me. Or I will have to harm your lovely mother too.” Alicia tried to resist, but Sally stepped forward, “I’ll go with you.” Snively bowed, “Smart move.” A rope appeared and tied Sally up. Snively threw her on to his left shoulder, “See Ya.” He yelled as he ran out of the castle.

Sonic rounded a corner and ran into the two red Swatbots. They aimed their cannon arms. Flame shot out of the cannons. Sonic ran up the side of the building and jumped in between the two bots. The bots turned and fired. Sonic rolled out of the way as the bots shot each other. Sonic turned to laugh, but the bots weren't even burnt. Sonic gulped, “Great fire proof.” As the bots took aim, one of them burst apart. Sonic looked puzzled as a skunk ran out from the side of the building. He aimed his arm mounted crossbow and fired an arrow at the gas tank of the other bot. It exploded when the arrow hit the tank. The skunk walked up to Sonic. Sonic smiled,” Never thought I’d ever be happy to see your ugly mug.” The skunk fixed his hat and reloaded his crossbow, “What? You thought you were the only one who can help?” Sonic turned, “Guess so St. John. I’ll check the east and west sides of town. We got to take the rest of the bots out.” St. John nodded, “I’ll take north. I saw Tails heading south.” The to nodded and ran to their respective areas. Sonic ran weaving in between buildings and fleeing people. As Sonic reached a clearing, he saw Antoine holding his sword and staring into the sky. Sonic ran over to the coyote, “Yo Antoine what are you looking at?” Antoine didn’t drop his gaze, “Bunnie is fighting those flying bots.” Sonic looked up, his green eyes scanning the skies. The two turned when they saw Bunnie drop from the sky using the jets in her feet to fly past. The two black flying Swatbots flew down firing the arm lasers. Bunnie dodged the fire, but just barley. Antoine looked to Sonic, “What do we do?” Sonic thought for a moment. He snapped his fingers, “Antoine get ready to jump.” Sonic put his hands together and crouched down. Antoine nodded and put his right foot into Sonic’s hands. Sonic yelled, “Hey Bunnie. This way.” The rabbot nodded and flew over Sonic and Antoine. As the bots flew past Sonic launched Antoine up. With one swipe of his sword, Antoine sliced one of the bots wing off. The bot fell to the ground and exploded. The other bot turned to Sonic and Antoine. As it took aim, Bunnie took aim with her left arm’s cannon, she blasted a hole into the bots chest. The bot fell to the ground and exploded. Bunnie landed. Antoine ran over and gave her a hug, “I was so worried.” Bunnie hugged back, “I know.” Sonic shook his head, “You guys got things covered here?” The two nodded. Sonic gave thumbs up and ran off.

Tails drove around the southern area of Knothole Kingdom. He doubled checked his walkers radar. It showed nothing, “Where are those bots?” As if to answer him one of the large purple ones appeared in front of him. It aimed its heavy laser cannons. It fired a wall of red hot energy fire at him. Tails’s walker jump to one side. The wall of lasers hit a near by building and destroyed it. Tails frowned, “Hey you can’t do that.” Tails took aim with his charged particle gun. He fired. A bluish beam fired out of the gun. The bot jumped to one side, but the gun was on a turret an followed him. The beam ripped through the bot. It fell to the ground unmoving. Tails jumped with joy, but the other bot snuck up behind him and took aim. Before Tails could do anything a green laser beam shot out and destroyed the bot’s head. Tails turned to see where the shot came from. A fat purple walrus was standing a few feet away, holding a large laser cannon. Tails waved, “Thanks Rotor.” The walrus waved, “No problem Tails. I have been dying to try my new laser cannon.” As Rotor turned to leave, two of the green Swatbots appeared and shoved him down. Rotor fell to the ground and dropped his weapon. The bots took aim at him with their arm lasers. Tails rushed to help, but before he could do anything, a familiar blue blur jumped from some near by bushes. Sonic started his spin attack and sliced the two bots’ heads clean off. They fell to the ground. Sonic helped Rotor up, “You ok Rotor?” The walrus nodded, “Yeah. Just a little bruised.” Sonic nodded, “Cool. Lets fan out. We have three more bots and Snively to find.” They nodded. Rotor picked up his weapon and ran off. Tails walked up to Sonic, “Sonic do you know how Snively and the Swatbots managed to get here?” Sonic shook his head, “No clue bro. But I plan to find out.” As Sonic and Tails started to move out, Snively jumped in front of them and the three remaining Swatbots walked up behind him. Snively smiled, “I never thought it would be this easy to find all of my targets.” Tails noticed Sally over Snively’s shoulder, “Hey what are you doing with Aunt Sally?” Sonic’s eyes narrowed. Snively laughed, “My new boss wants to spend some time with this beauty.” He gave Sally to the command Swatbot and drew his sword, “Lets do this.” Sonic revved up, “You’ll pay for what you have done.” Sonic jumped at Snively. Snively took off at speeds that put Sonic to shame and ran at Tails. Tails took aim, but before he could fire, Snively drove his sword into the Tornado and dragged the sword through the right side of the walker. Sparks flew from the walker. Tails jumped from the walker just as it exploded. Tails was blown through the air by the blast and hit his head hard against the side of a near by building. He slumped to the ground out cold. Sonic shook his fist at Snively, “How dare you.” Sonic lunged at Snively. Snively simply side stepped him and slammed to hilt of his sword into the side of Sonic’s head. Sonic fell to the ground, but rolled back up to his feet. Sonic curled up into a ball and tried his spin dash attack. Snively smacked Sonic with the side of his sword and sent Sonic flying into a tree. Sonic bounced off the tree and attacked Snively again. Snively caught Sonic on the flat side of his sword. Sonic spun on the sword for a second then Snively flung him to the ground. Sonic uncurled and stared at Snively. He hated the smirk on Snively face. The bald guy ran his hand through the few hairs on his head, “Rodent. Why don’t you give up? I have all the cards.” Sonic spat on the ground, “No way Snively. I am taking you down big time.” Sonic tried a jump kick. Snively grabbed his leg and slammed him face first into the ground. As Sonic pushed himself up, Snively kicked him hard in the stomach. Sonic fell down again. Sally who had been watching the fight yelled, “Sonic are you all right?” Sonic tried to respond, but Snively picked him up by his throat and flung him into the side of a building. He slammed him so hard the building wall cracked. Sonic fell down. Snively pointed his sword at Sally and black lightning shot out. The lightning knocked her out. Sonic stood up his legs barely holding him up. Snively turned to him and smiled,” I have to keep you alive, but I wasn’t told what condition you had to be in.” He held the sword high, “Lets see. I guess I will start with your legs. You won’t need them.” As he was about to swing, Bunnie flew out of no where and fired her arm cannon. Snively jumped out of the way and swung at Bunnie. Bunnie stopped and flew up. Antoine appeared from behind a corner and helped Sonic up. Sonic managed a small smile, “Glad to see you bud.” Antoine started to sneak Sonic away while Bunnie kept Snively busy. St John jumped from the bushes and fired an arrow at the Swatbots. The arrow pierced one of the green ones head. The arrow blew the bots head off. As St John made a jump for Sally, the red command bot slammed its fist into St John’s back. As he tried to get up the bot kicked him in the face. St John fell to the ground and stopped moving. The last green one picked up the unconscious Tails and stood with the command Swatbot. Bunnie swooped at Snively. Snively grabbed her robotic left arm with his left arm and swung her around. After a few passes Snively smiled, “See you later.” He swung his sword and sliced Bunnie’s robotic arm off at the elbow. She hit the ground and rolled to a tree. She tried to get up, but fell to the ground. Antoine dropped Sonic and in a fit of rage he charged Snively, sword held high. As Antoine brought his sword down, Snively blocked with his sword. Antoine sword broke on impact with Snively’s sword. Snively then slammed Antoine in the face and sent Antoine flying through the air and landing on a nearby roof. Snively turned to Sonic who was trying to stand up. Snively scratched his long pointed nose, “Sorry about the interruptions. Now where was I.” He thought for a moment. As he thought Mina Mongoose ran at him and tried to tackle him. In one motion he grabbed her neck and flung her at the Swatbots. As the yellow mongoose flew near, the red command Swatbot lifted its right foot and Mina hit it hard. Mina fell to the ground and the bot put its foot down. Snively shrugged, “Guess I will just pound you until you beg for mercy.” As Snively walked toward Sonic some yelled out, “Speed Shot!” A green beam of energy shot out and slammed into the side of Snively’s face. Snively was slammed into a wall. Sonic turned to see a bandaged and bleeding Speed being helped up by a light red female echidna. A Chaos Emerald was clutched in his shaking right hand. The green hedgehog tossed the emerald to Sonic. “Thanks.” Sonic pointed the emerald at Snively got up, “What happen.” Sonic yelled,” Sonic Wind!” A blue wind of force shot out of the emerald and slammed into Snively. He landed next to the Swatbots. Snively slowly stood up, “I’ll be back.” Snively and the Swatbots vanished, taking Sally and Tails with them. Sonic wanted to help Sally and Tails, but he had to help the others first. Sonic walked to help Speed up as medics ran in to assist the fallen fighters.

Back at Robotropolis, Snively bowed deeply as Bojack turned Tails into a brown Chaos Emerald and absorbed it. Bojack looked a little shocked when he grew two fox tails. He shrugged, “Small price to pay for power.” He stared at Snively. He was shaking, awaiting punishment for failing to kill Speed and to capture Sonic. Bojack smiled, “Stand up my friend. You have done well enough.” Snively looked up slowly. Bojack sat down, “You have bung me the princess. I have more power thanks to the fox. And there is no way Speed can help Sonic in his condition. Sonic will come to us.” Snively nodded, Yes sir.” Bojack waved him off, “Go to the edge of the Great Forest and wait. You will ambush Sonic as he comes to rescue the princess. I would teleport you, but I need to refocus my power for another task.” Snively bowed,
“Of course sir. I will leave at once.” Snively ran out. Bojack smiled and walked over to Sally who was hanging from the wall in chains, “Soon my dear. Very Soon.”

Sonic sat in the waiting room of the hospital. The light red echidna was sitting across from him. Sonic shifted his shoulders. He had a huge heading and plenty of bruises. Believe it or not he came out of the fight the least injured. A very bad thing for Snively. Sonic looked at the echidna, her purple eyes staring at the door to the main part of the hospital. Sonic took a breath, “Friend of Speed?” The echidna smiled, “My name is Leda. I am his wife.” Sonic’s mouth dropped, “Your kidding.” Leda held up a gold bracelet, “We were going to get rings, but we thought they would get trashed while we travel.” Sonic slowly nodded. The both shot up as Dr. Quack walked in. The yellow duck was holding a huge clip board. Sonic was the first to speak, “How is everyone?” The doctor scratched his bill, Most of them have only a few bumps and bruises. But St. John has two broken ribs. Mina has a minor concussion, Antoine has a broken left arm, and Bunnie has a few bruised ribs and her left arm has been cut clean off. Rotor is with her now, trying to repair it.” Leda grabbed the duck’s arm, “And Speed?” Dr. Quack took a deep breath, “His left leg is broken in several places, most of his ribs are bruised, but not broken, he suffered mild head trauma, and has more cuts and bruises than I can count. Aside for that he will be alright, but he wont be going anywhere for quite awhile.” “Can I see him?” Dr. Quake nodded, “Room 114.” Leda ran off. Sonic patted the duck on the shoulder, “Thanks doc.” Dr. Quake nodded, “I try.” He walked off. Sonic was going to see his friends, but a flash of light stopped him. He turned to see a brown echidna standing a few feet away next to a creature made of water, “Tikal! Chaos! What are you two doing here?” Tikal looked grim, “We have come to warn you. In the next fight you could die.” Sonic smiled, “That is just great.”

Back at Sonic’s house Sonic sat with Tikal. Chaos sat in the corner listening. Sonic’s parents were out helping the injured. Sonic’s Uncle Chuck was sitting across the room. Sonic sighed, “Ok Tikal. Give me the low down.” Before she could talk, Speed limped into the room helped by Leda. Sonic shot up, “Speed. You should be in bed.” Speed managed a small smile, “I want to know how Snively kicked my butt so easily. I’ll rest only after that.” Sonic nodded and helped Speed sit down in a comfortable chair, “Fine. But take it easy.” Leda sat next to him and Sonic sat back down,” Ok Tikal. We are ready.” Tikal nodded, “Fine. I will tell you everything. This all started ten thousand years ago. A powerful wizard named, Bojack found away to extend his life indefinitely. He developed a technique to make new body when he got old. When reached the age of fifty he would mate with some one. After the baby is born it grows rapidly, reaching the age of sixteen in a matter minutes. After that Bojack’s soul is transferred to the new body. His full power and mind remains and he can continue his work. But unfortunately he came up with another power that gave him the idea to control the world.” Sonic shifted, “What?” “He developed the ability to transform people into Chaos Emeralds. He then absorbs the emeralds and the person’s power is added to his own. He can only absorb seven at a time.” Speed coughed, “So that is what happen to are friends?” Tikal nodded,” Yes. He got Espio, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Robotnik, and now Tails. He is waiting to absorb Sonic before getting a new body.” Sonic interrupted, “Can we save them?” Tikal nodded, “Yes, but we must save them before Bojack gets a new body. During the switch the souls of the absorbed are turned into pure energy and is used to increase the power of Bojack’s new body. But luckily his power has diminished some what.” “How?” Tikal glanced at Sonic and looked up, “One thousand years ago Bojack tried to capture the Master Emerald. Chaos countered the wizard and manage to weaken him, but Bojack quickly caste a lightning spell and drove Chaos away. Just as he was going to claim the Master Emerald, two warriors descended on him. One was armed with the Sword of Acorns and the other the Sword of Chaos. The two battled Bojack for two days. When the battle ended the warrior with the Sword of Chaos was struck down. Before he died, he sacrificed his remaining energy to trap Bojack within the Sword of Chaos. The sword was sealed in a rock and was forgotten. But Prince Elias found the sword and Bojack took over his body. Now he wishes to absorb seven of Mobius most powerful fighters and then create a new body. If he switches again even Chaos won’t be able to counter him.” Sonic scratched his head, “Who is he going to mate with?” Speed frowned, “Who do you think?” Sonic thought for a moment. He clenched his fist, “I don’t think so.” Sonic leapt up and was going to run out, but Chaos blocked him. Tikal shouted at him, “If you go now you wont stand a chance. But I have a plan that might just work.” Sonic turned to her, “What?” Tikal shook her head, “Long ago a ancient and powerful wizard created the technique of fusion. It was his belief that two people could fuse mind, body, and sprit into one. Unfortunately no one has ever fused and lived. Their minds and spirits just wouldn’t fuse and they both died. Sonic looked to Speed, “Let me guess. Him.” Speed glance up, “Love you to.” Tikal sighed, “Yes. Its the only thing I can think of. The fusion would heal you wounds instantly, but If it is successful you’ll be one person forever.” Sonic laughed, “Dead no matter what I do.” Sonic turned around and walked past Chaos, “I’ll think about it.” Sonic left. Tikal looked to Speed. Speed looked up, “Don’t look at me. I think this is nuts.” Speed got up. Leda rushed to help him. They left. Chaos looked at Tikal. She just shook her head.

Sonic stood next to the Power Ring Pool. He listen to the waterfall. He sighed, “What do I do?” Speed and Leda walked up. Speed grabbed a stick and walked to Sonic. Leda stepped back to leave them alone. Speed stood next to Sonic and just stared at the water. Sonic looked over, “So what do you think of this whole fusion thing?” Speed laughed, “I don’t mind sharing with you, but sharing bodies is a bit much.” Sonic smiled, “Good point.” They both laughed. Speed turned, “Your call. I want to help the others.” Speed walked off. Sonic watched him leave. He turned to the water, “What should I do?” Uncle Chuck walked up, “Big choice huh?” Sonic nodded, “One way I could die and the other way I will die, but the chance of victory will be higher.” The robotic hedgehog rubbed Sonic’s shoulder, “I know Sonic. I guess it is up to you. I know you will make the right choice.” The two stood there silently. Speed sat down on a rock a few feet away from the pool. Leda sat down, “So now what?” Speed shook his head, “I don’t know. The fusion sounds good, but if it works I am a goner.” Leda leaned her head against him, “I don’t want to lose you, but I will support any decision you decide.” Speed smiled,” I know. It is up to Sonic.” Sonic walked up. Speed stood up. Sonic smiled,” Lets do it.” Speed nodded, “Done.”

Sonic and Speed stood a foot apart. Tikal, Chaos, Uncle Chuck, and Leda stood ten feet away. Tikal was yelling at the two hedgehogs, “Ok make your minds as clear as crystal. Think of only each other. When you look at the other you only see another part of yourself. Now concentrate your energy.” Sonic and Speed closed their eyes and focused. Their hands started to glow yellow. “Good your doing it. Know grab each others wrist and yell out fusion.” Sonic and Speed opened their eyes. They grabbed each others wrist and yelled out together," FUSION!” The yellow light intensified. A flash of light blinded everyone. When the light vanished everyone looked to see one person standing where Sonic and Speed stood. He had red and blue striped sneakers. He was bluish green. His outer quills were dark green and the inner quills were dark blue. His eyes were closed. He stood their not budging. Leda yelled to Tikal, “What now?” Tikal looked at the hedgehog, “The body fused fine. Now we see if the mind and spirit fused.” Leda looked back at the hedgehog. He had pointed knuckles like Speed, but they seamed sharper. The hedgehog’s eye opened. The eyes were bluish green too. He looked up and yelled, “YEAH!” His voice was strange, like Sonic and Speed was talking at the same time, but coming from one mouth. The hedgehog walked to the Power Ring Pool. He looked at his reflection, “I had my doubts about this fusion thing, but I like how it turned out.” He stood up and pulled down his gloves. He turned and walked toward the group. They took a step back. The hedgehog smiled, “Something wrong?” The dual voice was still creeping them out. The hedgehog turned to the robotic hedgehog, “Hey Uncle could you make me some of your world famous chilidogs?” Uncle Chuck nodded, “Sure.” The hedgehog smiled, “Great I will be back in about an hour.” As the Hedgehog walked off, Leda yelled at him, “Who are you?” The hedgehog waved, “Name is Spin. See you later honey. New body in all. Gotta to break it in.” He walked off. Leda looked to Tikal and shrugged. Tikal smiled, “The fusion was a complete success. Sonic and Speed have fused into one.”

Spin walked into the deepest part of the Great Forest. His greenish blue eyes scanning around, “No body here. Good. I don’t have to hold back.” Spin took a deep breath, “Lets see what I can do.” Spin took off running. He weaved in between trees, dashed through bushes, and plowed through rocks and boulders of every size. Spin was moving so fast he almost seem to disappear and reappear at will. His speed was unbelievable. He ran to a cliff side and jumped off. His quills expanded and he slowly glided down the five hundred foot cliff. He touched down. He looked around, “Too easy.” He walked to the cliff side. He slammed his knuckles into the cliff. He climbed back up and stood at the top. He jumped up and slammed his fist into the ground. The force of the punch cracked the ground to a point were half of the cliff fell apart. Spin jumped into the falling rubble. It was child’s play to jump from boulder to boulder. When he cleared the rubble he was still high in the air. He used his quills to land on the ground. The rubble had hit the ground making a huge rock pile. Spin leapt into the pile and at high speeds pummeled all of the rocks to sand. Spin turned toward the remaining cliff side and ran up it. He ran so fast he shot into the air. He spun in the air and landed on top of a huge tree. He stared over the forest at the black smog filled sky of Robotropolis. He let his quills expand and the wind blew through it making it look like he had a cape. He clenched his fist, “Don’t worry. Sonic and Speed your sacrifice was not in vain. I will crush Bojack and rescue the others.” He glanced to the gold bracelet on his right wrist, “Nor will I forget other promises.” He nodded to himself and returned to training.

After an hour Spin appeared at Sonic’s house. He calmly walked in. Uncle Chuck set a plate full of chilidogs on the dining room table. Spin smiled, “Thanks.” Spin sat down and stuffed his face. Uncle Chuck stepped back and waited for Spin to finish. When he was done, Spin stood up and burped. Uncle Chuck stepped forward, “Everyone else has gone to Castle Acorns. The king wanted to talk to Sonic.” Spin nodded and walked to the door, “Guess I’ll go in his place.” Spin ran out. Uncle Chuck shook his head, “I guess Sonic is really gone.” As Spin walked toward the palace, four guards ran in front of him, “Halt.” Spin frond, “I have no time for you.” Spin eyes glowed green, “Chaos Control!” Spin vanished in a flash of green light. He reappeared in the main hall. Tikal, Chaos, Leda, The King, and The Queen were in shock. Spin smiled. Tikal walked over, “How you don’t have a Chaos Emerald?” Spin shrugged, “I activated the latent chaos energy in my body. And that not all I can do.” Spin walked toward the King, “Sorry I am late. Sonic wont be able to talk to you so I will.” The King picked up on Spin’s dual voice, “So this fusion thing Tikal told me about is true.” Spin crossed his arms and nodded. The King wasn’t amused, “I hope you are strong enough to do the job.” Spin smiled, “Don’t worry. I will beat Sally’s location out of Snively.” The King nodded and made a motion with his hand, a spider in a ninja outfit walked forward. He knelt and lifted up a sword to Spin, “Me and my brethren has sensed the power of the Sword of Chaos. We have decided to give you the Sword of Acorns to help fight it. Spin nodded, the sword was in a sheath. He grabbed it and slung it over his shoulder, “Thanks.” Spin turned and started to walk out, Leda walked with him. When they were out of the hall Spin turned to her, his voice leaned a little on Speed’s side, “Leda. When this is over I will come back to you. I just don’t know where we will stand.” Leda nodded, “I understand.” Spin kissed her, “Don’t worry.” Spin walked a few steps, waved, and took of at high speeds. Tikal and Chaos walked up, “I hope he is able to cope when this over.” Leda just watched as Spin disappeared in the distance.

Snively leaned against a rock waiting for Sonic to appear. He sighed, “Where is that stupid hedgehog?” “I am here.” Snively jumped up to see a strange looking hedgehog standing a few feet away. He noticed the sword hanging over his shoulder, “Who in the hell are you?” Spin chuckled, “Sonic couldn’t make it so I am here to kick your behind. Hope you don’t mind.” Snively lashed out with a punch, “You truly are a fool.” The punch would have cracked solid steel, but Spin simply caught it with his palm. Snively sneered and lashed out with hundreds of punches at Sonic’s speed. Spin blocked each one with just his right palm. Snively jumped back, “Lets see you block this.” The red command Swatbot appeared from over the hill with two regular Swatbots and they all fired their arm cannons. Spin jumped into the air and with a spin attack, sliced the two regular Swatbots to pieces. The command Swatbot tried to fire at him, but Spin drew his sword and with one quick motion cut the bot’s domed head clean off. Spin spun the sword in his hand and re-sheathed the sword. Spin turned to Snively, “Is that all, baldy?” Snively stamped the ground, “If you didn’t have that Sword of Acorns you wouldn’t have so much power.” Spin shrugged, “Fine.” Spin pulled of the sheath and tossed it to the ground. Snively laughed, “You fool. With out that sword you are nothing.” Spin smiled and crossed his arms, “You think you know everything there is to know about me, but in reality you don’t have a clue.” “What do you mean?” Spin laughed out load, “If you had a lick of sense in that pointed head of yours, you realize who I truly am.” Snively clenched his teeth, “What are you babbling about?” Spin uncrossed his arms and crouched a little, “You should have guess that I can go super.” Snively’s eyes bulged, “Imposable. You don’t have seven Chaos Emeralds or fifty Gold Rings.” Spin smiled. A flash of gold light went off and in a longer flash Spin transformed. He was standing strait, arms crossed and he glowed with golden light. His fur was now gold and his quills silver. His eyes glowed red and he was staring at Snively, “Ok small fry. Now you face Super Spin. Prepare for the end.” Snively lunged at him and aimed a punch right at his face. Spin didn’t budge. Snively hit him square in the right side of his face. The impact should have cracked his head, but all it did was move his face a little to the left. Snively stepped back. Spin turned, “That was free.” Spin threw his own punch, that caught Snively in the face and launched him into the air. Snively landed hard on the ground. He stood up and rubbed his face. Spin’s sharp knuckles had left a little mark. Snively drew his sword, “Play time is over. Now fall to the feet of Snively the Great.” Snively leapt at Spin and swung wildly at Spin. Spin simply ducked and stepped to the sides to avoid them. Snively swung the sword down. Spin caught it with his right hand. Spin then pressed his left palm on Snively’s chest, “You depend on that sword to much.” Snively began to whine. A gold beam of energy shot out and knocked Snively flying twenty feet and hit the ground. Spin still had the Sword of Chaos. He dropped it and walked slowly toward Snively,” Now listen very carefully. Where is Sally?” Snively stood up and spat out some blood, “I ain’t going to tell you anything.” Spin smiled, “Good. I was worried I wasn’t going to have fun.” He threw a punch at Snively, “Sonic Wind!” A wind of blue force shot from his fist and slammed into Snively. It pushed Snively into a nearby rock. Spin threw another punch, “Speed Shot!” A green beam shot out and pushed Snively through the rock. Snively stood up, barely. “Where is Sally?” Snively sighed, “I don’t know.” Spin leapt forward and grabbed Snively’s face. He ran forward at high speeds and dragged Snively’s face through the ground. After a few moments he stopped and tossed Snively to the ground. Spin stretched, “Where is Sally?” His voice had grown deeper. Snively’s eyes grew in fear, “I swear I don’t know. Please stop.” Spin chuckled, “I am going to keep pounding you until you tell me where Sally is.” Snively started to run, “No please. I don’t know. I DON’T KNOW.” Spin threw a beam of energy out and it hit Snively hard in the back of the neck. Snively fell to the ground out cold. Spin brushed himself off, “I knew you didn’t know. I just was having fun.” “Then why did you pummel him?” Spin turned to see Bojack standing a few feet away. Spin smiled, “Nice of you to show up. Now I don’t have to hunt your ass down.” Bojack laughed, “You didn’t answer my question.” Spin shook his head and threw his hands up, “I felt like it. He deserved it.” Bojack chuckled, “Thought so. He did kick your ass twice.” Spin’s face grew puzzled, “How did you know that?” “Please. Your duel voice says it all. Snively was to thick headed to notice, but I am not. I am impressed. I witnessed the creation of the fusion technique. I never thought anyone would ever pull it off. Now my job is so much easier.” Spin took up a cocky stance, “How do you figure that?” Bojack pointed to him, “Now I can absorb both Sonic’s and Speed’s abilities at once. Thus completing my collection. Then I can get my new body and clam the Master Emerald.” Spin lunged at him, “Yeah right. I am going to take your sorry ass down.” Spin was aiming his fist into Bojack’s face. A red energy field surrounded Bojack. Spin hit it and was blasted onto his butt. Spin jumped up and tried again. He blasted back even further. Bojack pointed a finger at Spin and a purple beam shot out. It blasted Spin ten feet back. Spin stood up, “Stop playing with me.” Bojack chuckled, “I don’t think so.” Bojack fired another beam and it hit Spin right in the head. Spin was slammed through a tree. His super form gave out and was normal again. Spin wiped some blood from the side of his mouth. He dashed at Bojack and rammed the energy field. Spin lasted for a minute, but Bojack turned up the power and red energy flowed through Spin’s body. He stepped back, he was in to much pain to say anything. Bojack punched him into the face. Spin fell to the ground, barely able to move. Bojack laughed, “Game Over rodent.” As Bojack prepared to turn him into a emerald, a gush of water shot out and knocked Bojack over. Spin looked up to see the water god Chaos standing a foot away. Bojack stood up, “I was wondering when you would get involved.” Chaos transformed into a tidal wave and rushed at Bojack. Bojack waved his right arm and lightning shot out and ripped through Chaos, turning him into a puddle. Bojack continued to blast lightning at Chaos. After a moment he stopped. He smiled, “Spin I give you one chance to surrender. It is always easier when my prey submits. You have one hour to surrender or I will come and find you.” He vanished. Tikal and Leda ran from the forest and helped Spin up. Spin pushed them away, “I have failed. Failed Sonic, Speed, Sally, and everyone.” Tikal shook her head, “I am working on a spell to remove our friends from him.” Spin sat on the ground, “So. I still can’t fight him.” Chaos erupted into a watery pillar. Spin stood up in shock. Chaos lunged at Spin. He plunged into Spin’s mouth. Spin swallowed him whole. Spin fell down. Leda stepped back, “Tikal what happened?” Tikal smiled, “Chaos has decided to help. He has completely merged with the water in Spin’s body. He has sacrificed himself to give Spin his power. This way Chaos’s power can be used without his weakness to lightning.” Spin stood up, looked to the sky, and yelled out. He flashed gold and transformed into his super form. Spin looked to Tikal and Leda, “Whoa, that was a rush.” Tikal walked forward, “Have you full control of Chaos’s powers?” Spin smiled, “Check this?” He crouched down and clenched his fist. He started to glow. He yelled out. In a flash of light he transformed again. He glowed with golden power and energy sparked from his body, “Check out my hyper form. Cool huh.” Tikal and Leda nodded. Spin picked up the Sword of Acorns. He strapped the sheath to his back. Spin turned and picked up the Sword of Chaos. He through it onto his back so both swords formed an X.” Spin started to walk, but Tikal yelled at him, “Are you sure that sword is safe?” Spin waved, “It is no longer tainted by Bojack’s power. It is back to its normal form. Now you work on that spell.” Spin ran off. Tikal signaled to Leda, “Lets go.” The two echidnas ran back to Knothole.

Spin ran to the outskirts of Robotropolis and stopped. He looked around. The place seamed empty. Not a soul or robot to be found. Spin took a deep breath and yelled, “Hey Bojack. I am here to kick your sorry ass. Now get out here.” Bojack watched Spin from atop the egg shaped command building in the center of the heavily polluted city. He smiled, “He is more resourceful than I gave him credit for. But that is all about to end.” He pulled out a small remote from his belt, “I have to remind myself to thank Robotnik for his brains. With out them I wouldn’t be able to pull this one off.” He pressed a red button. A huge laser cannon rose from a under ground bunker and aimed for Spin. Spin instantly saw it. He couldn’t miss it. The barrel alone must have been two blocks long. The cannon charged up and fired. It shot out a huge red beam right at Spin. Spin just stared at the beam as it hit him. The beam ignited the ground around him, before the energy erupted in a massive explosion. Bojack smiled, “Too easy.” His happy face vanished when he caught sight of a golden light. He grabbed a pair of binoculars. He tried to see, but the light had vanished. Before Bojack could think, he felt something leaning against his back. He dropped the binoculars and turned his head. Spin was standing there, changed. His eyes were now gold, his quills had grown by half a length and he was shimmering with a golden power. “What is this?” Spin chuckled, “Bare witness to my strongest form. Sonic had achieved this form when he came in contact with one hundred Power Rings. But I didn’t need them. I am now Ultra Spin. Much stronger than super or hyper could ever be.” Bojack frowned, “Thanks for the info. But you’ll find that changing forms will not save you my friend. I will make you apart of me.” Bojack spun around, but Spin simply disappeared and reappeared leaning next to a nearby wall. Bojack hated the cocky smile adorning Spin’s face. Bojack slammed his foot down, “You wouldn’t be so cocky if it wasn’t for the fusion.” Spin laughed, “Please. I didn’t absorb people to gain power. Both Sonic and Speed willingly gave their lives for mine. And now that Chaos’s power has been added to my own. Your going down.” Bojack smiled, “We shall see.” Bojack lunged forward and tried to punch Spin. At light speed Spin avoided the attack and stood on the edge of the building. Bojack’s punch shattered a portion of the wall. Bojack turned to Spin, “I see I will have to use all my power.” Bojack’s clenched his fist, “Thunder Arrow!” Bojack shot out a lightning bolt at Spin. Spin froze, “Thats Knuckles move.” The bolt hit Spin hard and he was thrown from the roof. The command building was two hundred stores tall. Luckily, Spin landed on a one hundred story square building next to it. Spin stood up, “Speed Shot!” Spin blasted a bolt of green energy that blasted the roof off the command building. Bojack used his wings and floated over Spin. He pointed his fist at Spin, “Chaos Spear!” Several yellow beams of energy shot out and hit Spin hard. The impact sent Spin through the building and he hit the ground with so much force the building collapsed on top of him. Spin pulled himself out of the rubble. He took a few steps and looked up at Bojack. Spin’s right hand glowed blue, “Sonic Wind!” A wind of blue force shout out at Bojack. The wind swirled around Bojack and sent him falling to the ground. Bojack stood up and he and Spin stared at each other. Bojack laughed, “Good form. Good Form. Good Bye.” Bojack rushed forward and slammed Spin into another building. Spin was sent into a room of the building. Bojack walked in and pummeled him with his fist. After a moment, Bojack picked up Spin and flung through the rest of the building and Spin landed in the street. Bojack walked up, “So much for your cocky attitude.” Spin rushed up and slammed his fist into Bojack’s face. Bojack hit the street and rolled to his feet. Spin rushed forward and delivered a jump kick to Bojack’s gut. Bojack was sent flying and hit a statue of Robotnik. Bojack fell face first into the ground and the statue fell on him. Spin put his palms together and brought his hands back, “Super Chaos Beam Cannon!” A gold ball pf energy glowed in his palms. He thrust his hands forward and a beam of energy shot out. On contact with Bojack the beam exploded. Spin jumped back and waited for the smoke to clear. Bojack shot out of the smoke landed a few feet away. Spin drew the Sword of Acorns and the Sword of Chaos, “Time to end this game.” Bojack summoned two swords of black energy, “Agreed.”

Back at Knothole, Tikal studied an ancient book looking for the spell she needed. Leda walked in to the library with two old books. She set them down and sat down, “Any luck?” The orange echidna rubbed her blue eyes, “None. I know the wizard that created the spell that Bojack uses made a counter spell for it. I just wish I could find it.” Leda cracked opened another book, “Lets hope Spin can hold on.” Tikal nodded and continued reading.

The crackling of energy rang out as Spin and Bojack crossed swords. Spin and Bojack jumped away from each other. The problem was, Spin was the only one breathing hard. He fell to his right knee, “How can you keep this up?” Bojack laughed, “I have a lot more energy than you. I have been using the extra to boost my own abilities to match yours.” The energy blade in his right had shrunk to about a foot long. He flung the blade at Spin. As Spin dodge the blade pierced his left arm. The blade was stuck in his arm. Spin fell to his knees and dropped the Sword of Chaos. The pain was almost to much to handle. Bojack pushed back his dreadlocks, “Don’t worry. Your arm is really untouched, but the feeling of it being pierced is coercing through your brain, making it seem very real. I learned this from a powerful psychic I absorbed a little before I was sealed in that blasted sword.” Bojack summed another blade for his right hand, “I really must thank you. I rarely have a chance to use so many of my techniques and spells in one fight. I an really enjoying this.” Spin smiled, “Glad to be of service.” Spin clenched his fist and a small bolt of energy shot through his arm destroying the energy blade in his arm. Spin quickly grabbed the Sword of Chaos, “Ready for a few of my techniques.” Bojack raised his swords, “If you wish.” Spin crossed his swords, “X-Slash!” Spin pulled the swords apart and a red X of energy shot out and flew at Bojack. Bojack tried to block with his swords. The X slammed into the swords and exploded. Bojack lunged at Spin swords swinging. Spin blocked each one. Lightning seemed to strike each time the swords clashed. Spin gritted his teeth, “Bojack isn’t giving me an inch.” Bojack’s mind was also racing, “Should have given this kid some more credit. Just a little.” Spin and Bojack slammed their swords in to each others. The got into a power pushing match. Energy shot out of the crossed swords and erupted around them. Neither of them could over power the other.

Tikal jumped up, “I found it.” Leda looked up, “Really?” Tikal nodded, “Yes. The wizard made sure the counter spell was easy to find. It seems Bojack forced him to create the spell.” Tikal ran for the door, “Come on. We don’t have a lot of time.” Leda nodded and ran after her. When they arrived at Sonic’s house, they sat in the living room. Leda looked around, “Where is everyone?” “Helping with the repair of Knothole. I think this is better anyway. I need to concentrate and I don’t think they need to know about Sonic and Speed’s fusion. They have enough on their minds.” Leda nodded, “Now what?” Tikal grabbed her hands, “Help me concentrate.” Leda closed her eyes as Tikal read the spell.

After a few minutes, Bojack began to overpower Spin. Spin did his best to hold Bojack down, but to no effect. Bojack flung Spin’s arms up and pointed his two swords at Spin and they combine into one and it shot into Spin’s chest. Spin dropped his swords. He stared transfixed on the energy blade in his chest. Bojack smiled and kicked Spin in the stomach. Spin flew through the air and slammed into the side of a building. Spin fell to the ground and was barely able to sit up. The blade in his chest was sending sharp burst of pain through his body. Bojack slowly walked up, “Game, set, and match. I must admit that you gave me a run for my money. I will at least give you that. But now the game is over.” Spin struggled to talk, “I ain’t finished yet.” Bojack laughed so loud that some of the rubble shook, “You must be joking. You can’t even move.” Bojack pointed at Spin, “Now for my power.” As Bojack powered up, Spin’s hands started to glow blue and the energy blade vanished. As Bojack fired, Spin jumped up and his hands entered Bojack’s body. Both Bojack and Spin had completely freaked out faces. Bojack and Spin jumped away from each other. In Spin’s hands where two Chaos Emeralds. Bojack fell to his knees as his wings disintegrated. Spin looked in awe as Bojack rived in pain. Just then a small sphere of light flew next to Spin, “Spin are you alright?” Spin jumped, “Tikal you spooked me. What is going on?” The ball flew to Spin and picked up the Two Chaos Emeralds, “I found the spell that was made to counter Bojack’s power, Just reach into his body and pull out the Chaos Emeralds are friends got turned into. I will stick around in my spirit ball form and pick them up.” Spin nodded and turn to Bojack, “Who did we save?” “Espio and Rouge.” “Good.” Bojack stood up, “I am not finished yet, I still have the others.” Spin smiled, “Not for long.” Spin lunged at Bojack. Bojack jumped to the side. Spin was a little quicker and his right hand managed to grabbed one of the Chaos Emerald from Bojack’s body. Bojack’s twin tails vanished. Spin tossed the emerald to Tikal and ran at Bojack. Bojack tried to fire a attack, but he was to weak. Spin plunged his left hand right into Bojack's chest. It came out his back clutching an emerald. Spin smiled, “Last one.” Spin dropped the emerald and pulled his hand free grabbing the last one. Tikal picked them both up. Bojack took a step back, “I still have Robotnik.” Spin laughed, “Keep him for all I care. It just means that I will take both of you out in one quick move.” Bojack face grew grim, “Now wait just a moment. I am sure we can come to an agreement.” Spin picked up the Sword of Acorns and the Sword of Chaos, “As soon as I remove you from Prince Elias’s body the only agreement you will be making is how I will kill you.” Bojack took a step back, “I don’t think so my friend.” The ground under Spin erupted and a giant robot flew out of the ground. Painted deep red, It stood seven feet tall and had purple trim. A panel opened in the bot’s back and Bojack jumped into it. His voice was amplified by the robot, “How do you like my battle suit? It amplifies my power by over one-thousand. I was saving it for my assault on Angel Island, But you forced me to use it now. I will absorb you and retake my emeralds.” Spin clutched his swords, “Tikal get going.” Tikal took of as Bojack flew at Spin. The bot was incredibly fast and it sent Spin into a warehouse. A pulse of energy shot out of the robot and caused the warehouse to fall on to Spin. Spin jumped from the rubble and flew at Bojack. Spin swung his swords, but they bounced off the robot’s armor. Bojack chuckled, “Fool. This armor is protected by magic.” With one swipe he knocked Spin through several buildings. Spin fell to the ground. “Bet you wish you were too.” Bojack put his palms together, “Goodbye.” A huge beam of red energy shot out. It plowed through everything in his path and exploded on contact with Spin. The explosion was almost a mile wide. Bojack flew up and surveyed the damage. Spin was standing in the crater, barely. Bojack flew down and landed in front of Spin. Spin looked up, but had little energy to do anything. Bojack laughed as he raised his right hand at Spin. It was opened. As he closed it, a red energy field surrounded Spin and began to crush him. As Bojack tighten his grip, so did the field, “Don’t worry. I am going to absorb you, but first you must pay.” Spin yelled out in pain as the field tighten. Bojack smiled, “To bad you failed. I am going to enjoy killing your friends. And I am going to really enjoy matting with Sally. It will be my pleasure to make it a night she will remember.” Spin’s anger went through the roof and a huge green light filled him. A huge flash of green light blasted out and slammed Bojack away. As Bojack recovered he was shocked at what he saw. Spin was changed, Spin glowed green, his eyes flashed gold, and the two swords had combine into one. Spin turned to Bojack, his dual voice had amplified, “How dare you? HOW DARE YOU?” Bojack stepped back, How? I am sensing pure chaos energy from you, but this is imposable.” Spin smiled, “I have ascended my final form, A being of pure chaos energy. Purer than even the Master Emerald and twice as powerful. Knuckles once reached this state, but even him couldn’t comprehend the fullness of his power. Thanks to Chaos, I can fully realize the fullness of my power. Now to show you.” Bojack tried to punch Spin, but Spin vanished and reappeared next to him. Spin held up his sword, “Now to show you the power of the Master Sword.” With one slash he cut the robot’s hand off. Bojack jumped back. Spin followed and proceeded to rip Bojack out of the robot. The robot went dead as Spin held up Bojack, by his neck. Bojack struggled, but it did little to Spin. Spin smiled, “Now to free Elias.” Spin drove his energy through Tikal’s spell and sent through Bojack’s body. Bojack was blasted out of Elias and hit the ground. Spin took a look at his true form. A black fox. Spin put Elias down and walked to Bojack, “Game is over. You have no more cards to play. Bojack raised a hand, “Now wait, please. You still don’t know where Sally is.” Spin smacked him, “I can search and rip this city apart in a matter of minutes, I will find her in no time. Nice try though.” Bojack looked around, “Than I guess this is ware we part.” Bojack turned in to a thick liquid and went through a crack in the ground. Spin smiled, “Dang. Got away.”

Bojack reformed and ran into the hidden room. Sally was strapped to a table, “Sorry my dear, but I need my new body now. This one can’t support my full power.” He ran to her, “So I am afraid, we must skip the foreplay.” He slipped Sally a drug to keep her out. As he was about to began, he felt a tap on his shoulder. His eyes grew huge and he slowly turned around, Spin smiled, waved, and punched him in the face. Bojack flew over Sally and landed on the ground. Spin held up his sword, “Time to end this.” The sword glowed, “Z-Slash” Spin yelled and with one slash the entire area and Bojack was destroyed in one huge explosion. Spin put the sword in its sheath and walked to Sally. Sally was half out of it thanks to the drugs. Sally tried to look at him, “Sonic?” Spin frowned. He changed his voice to Sonic’s, “Yeah Sal. Its me. Don’t worry, you safe now.” Sally smiled and fell asleep. Spin hated lying, but he had little choice. He undid the bindings and picked her up, “Don’t worry Sally. I will protect you always. Chaos Control!” In a flash of light they were gone.

At Knothole Hospital a few days latter, Spin was talking to Doctor Quack, “Don’t worry Spin, The drugs are out of her system. She’ll be awake in a few hours.” Spin nodded and walked out. Knuckles, Shadow, Tails, and Tikal were waiting for him. Knuckles slapped him on the shoulder, “How is she?” Spin pushed his hand away, “She is fine.” Spin’s voice had grown cold and low. Shadow broke the silence, “Whats wrong?” Spin held up his arm, He was still in his chaos form, “Sally needs Sonic.” Spin starred at his gold bracelet, “And Leda needs Speed.” Spin walked away. Tails turned to Tikal, “Isn’t there a way to unfuse them?” Tikal shook her head, “No, but I don’t think even if there was one, it would be a good idea. Spin is now a living person, and having him unfuse would kill him.” Knuckles ran after him. He caught Spin at a cliff looking out at a lake. “Sonic and Sally use to come here to spend some quiet time together.” Spin chuckled, “Sonic had to use all of his self control to keep from getting bored.” Knuckles smiled, “Heighten senses, one of the perks.” Spin smiled, “So why did you give up your form?” The red echidna stood next to Spin, “Didn’t like who I was becoming.” Spin smiled, “ Power went to the head.” Knuckles nodded, “Yeah. And don’t worry. You’ll be fine.” Spin shook his head, “No I won’t. I won’t be here.” Knuckles gave him a puzzled look, “What?” Spin closed his eyes, “I am going to unfuse by focusing all my power.” Knuckles grabbed his, “Are you crazy. You will die, and it might not work.” Spin walked away, “ Yes it must work. Sonic and Speed are needed more than me. I will be gone, but my memories will live on. Tell everyone Good Bye for me.” Knuckles nodded and ran out of the way. Spin started glow brighter. The light intensified blinding the entire area. Shadow ran up to Knuckles, “What is going on.” Knuckles shielded his eyes, “I don’t know.” When the light vanished, Knuckles and Shadow ran to the cliff. Sonic and Speed stood side by side. Sonic had the Sword of Acorns and Speed had the Sword of Chaos. They looked around, “It worked.” As Knuckles and Shadow reached them, Sonic took of at high speed. Speed walked to them, “Don’t worry, Sonic wants to see Sally.” Shadow spook up, “You remember everything.” Speed nodded, “ Sure do. Now if you’ll excuse me.” Speed ran off. Knuckles laughed, “Back to normal.” At the cliff a pool of water grew into a figure. Chaos stretched and walked toward Knothole.

Sonic ran to the hospital and dashed to Sally’s room. The room was filled with flowers and cards from friends and loved ones. Sonic walked up to her bed and sat in the chair next to her, “ Sally I am here. Please wake up.” Sally’s eyes opened slowly, “Sonic?” Sonic’s eyes brighten, “Sally your awake.” Sally smiled, “Of coarse I am.” Sally sat up and hugged the blue hedgehog, tears filling her eyes, “Thank you for saving me.” Sonic wasn’t sure what to say. He in a way did save her, but Spin did most of the work. But her remembered he wanted Sally to be happy. “No problem Sal. I will always be here for you, count on it.” At that moment the King was being wheeled in by his wife. When he saw the scene, he waved his wife to back up. “Something wrong, Max?” The King smiled, “No sense interrupting. Lets let them enjoy the moment.” The queen smiled and hugged her husband.

Speed ran around Knothole until he saw, Leda skipping stones at the Power Ring Pool. Speed slowly walked up to the echidna. She was just looking at the water a skipping stones. Speed picked up on and tossed it. It flew past Leda and managed to skip twice before plopping. “You were always better at this than me.” Leda turned around, “Speed!” She jumped up and leapt into Speed’s arms. They both fell over. Leda hugged Speed as hard as she could, tears flowing from her eyes. Speed smiled, “I thought crying was a sign of weakness.” Leda managed a small smile, “Please, let me be weak this once.” “Sure.”

Back at Robotropolis, Snively surveyed the damage, “It will take awhile, but I will have this place up and running again in no time.” Snively started to walk away, but he winced in pain. With his powers gone, the injures and pain he suffered at the hands of Spin were acting up. “At least the big round guy is gone. Now I, Snively the Great will take complete control of the planet.” “Who will take over the planet?” Snively stiffen in fright. He turned slowly. Robotnik walked up, “Well Snively?” Snively gulped, “You sir.” Robotnik smiled, “Thats right Snively. Me.” He made a motion and a Swatbot walked up carrying Bojack, “Those hedgehogs will pay. They will pay for the destruction of my city and for my humiliation. THEY WILL PAY!”

Later in Knothole, Sonic and Speed were confronted by Chaos and Tikal. Tikal spoke, “I am afraid that we must ask you to leave with us. Sonic shook his head, “Why?” “You to must be trained to control your new powers and abilities.” Speed crossed his arms, “How long?” “About a year.” They both turned away, “Sorry. We can’t just pick up and leave for that long.” As they walked away, Sally and Leda walked up. Sally hugged Sonic, “Sonic you should go. I want you to be able to control your powers. It is the best thing for everyone. I don’t want you to lose control. Don’t worry I will wait.” Sonic hugged back, “Are you sure?” Sally nodded and kissed him, “I will be here when you return.” Speed turned to Leda, “And you?” Leda smiled and gave him a quick kiss, “Go Speed. I know you’ll be back.” Speed nodded. Sonic and Speed walked to Chaos, “Alright lets go.” In a flash of white light, the four of them vanished. Sally turned to Leda, “You can stay with me, until Speed returns. Leda nodded, “Thanks.” Sally and Leda walked toward Castle Acorn. A few feet away, Knuckles, Shadow, and Tails stood watching. Shadow smiled and started to walk away, “ Guess that means I head back to Station Square and train myself. Can’t let those to get to much stronger than me.” Shadow waved and ran off. Knuckles smiled, “Back to Angel Island for me. See you later.” Knuckles walked off. Tails stood there for a moment, “Guess I should get to work too.” Things slowly returned to normal in Knothole Kingdom.
