Prologue: proven lies
Guardian Lukas sat in Constable Remington's office; he
was 18 and was about to go in front of echidna high
counsel.
" Lukas, your nuts! You can't prove that they
murdered your father anymore then I can! It was an
accident! The thing sparked and the whole room went
up. There was nothing anyone could've done. You know
that." Remington told his best friend
" BUT THEY DID!" Lukas yelled starting to rant and
rave at his friend.
" AND I'M GONNA PROVE IT!" he rushed out the door and
to the hall of learning

" I'm here today to prove that the death of my father
Guardian Sabre was a MURDER!" Lukas said as he paced
around the room
" And what do you have for proof." The high councilor
said
" A lot, my father told me everything and I have his
Journals, let me tell you everything…"
Chapter one
" … and with my ideas I think we can bring the whole
city back to The Floating island and…" guardian Sabre
said to the counsel, his whole family was in the
stands watching him.
" We have heard enough Guardian. You seem to be more
for the technocracy then for the Creationists. With
your reasoning I have to say that your petition is
denied!" The grand high chancellor said
" We cannot let you go to the Technocracy with your
project. It's just to dangerous for our city."
"WHAT! I still, am in my legal right to work on my
project freely and with out question. You'll see."
Sabre left the hall and went back to the royal lab to
continue his research. The high councilor gave a
signal to the two guards standing beside him so they
went to follow Sabre

Looking in Sabre could see that the creation he had
worked so diligently on was most likely going to be
destroyed by the scared Creationists on the high
council; there was nothing he could do about it
either.
I have risked my family and my reputation for this?
Sabre look down at the plans for his grandfather
Halking's Hyper Zone Projector and sighed slamming his
fist down on the table
This is hopeless, if I continue to work on it, my
family will be destroyed and so will everything here!
Is it really worth it?
Sabre picked up the plans and brought them over to the
projector and started to work on it.
" Yeah, I guess it is."

Grand high Chancellor Sask had called for two of his
best assassins into his cabinet
" Thank you for coming on such short notice but I
have a Job for you. A very secret assignment calls
for you to sneak into the royal academe of the
sciences… Now listen closely…"

Sabre typed in a code into the data base for the Zone
Projector when the door opened
" HI!" Sabre youngest son, Lukas bursted in, and over
to his father
" Hey Luke!" Sabre picked him up, the little six year
old was small, but he loved helping Sabre work on the
Projector
" Dad, is there anything I can do ta help ya?
Anything?" Lukas Smiled and gave him a hug
" Sure!" Sabre brought him over to the computer " put
in 03-20-3208"
" Hey! That's my Birthday!" Lukas said excitedly as
he hit the numbers. The chaos emerald glowed red the
projector glowed too
" Will it work?" Lukas hugged his dad because he was
a little scared of the glowing
" Not yet, but someday it will honey." Sabre told him
proudly
Chapter two: Early Death
" All right Chancellor, we'll do it. Tonight at
midnight we sneak into Guardian Sabre's lab and
sabotage his projector and tape a time bomb onto the
bottom of it and when he turns it on…KABOOM!" Officer
Curio said holding the small bomb in his hand. His
partner, officer Marlette, looked down at the floor
" Let's go Marlette." Curio yelled over and she
followed him obediently
" By tomorrow morning, Guardian Sabre will be singing
with the angles in heaven!"

Sabre looked back at his creation, Lukas was still in
his arms, and he was beaming.
" It's late, we better be getting home, your mother's
going to kill me!" Sabre told him the last code and
he put it in so everything shut down
" Okay, dad." Lukas was still beaming that his dad
was letting him help. And as they left Lukas saw two
strange echidnas in black going towards the lab, but
he ignored it. He laid his head on his dad's shoulder
and fell asleep.

The two strange echidnas opened the door to the lab
and looked around to see if they were the only ones
there
" Now to work." Caro said taking out a pair of pliers
and cutting some of the wires in the projector before
taking out the bomb
" But we could kill him!" Marlette said apprehensively
" That's what were here for Marlette." Caro told her
taping the bomb to the bottom of the projector
" but what if he brings his son?"
" Then we get two birds ( or echidna's) with one
explosion! Done! When morning comes, we come to watch
and then when he turns it on, no more meddlesome
guardians!"

The Next Morning
* * *
" Dad can I come? please! You said it's gonna work
today! Please?" Lukas was begging and pleading to his
father
" Sorry Kiddo, I don't wan't you getting hurt.
Anything could happen!" Sabre picked him up and kissed
him on the head, spun him once then put him back down.
His wife, Jenna came over and they kissed
" Just come back safe and sound to me Sabre." She
kissed him again
" I will Jenna. Don't worry I'll be careful." Sabre
headed off to his lab to prototype the projector

34-48-12-08-34-28, the first code was activated and so
far it was a go for launch when the door opened
" Guardian Sabre, I'm Office Caro and this is office
Marlette, were here to see the Projector in action."
Caro said
" Sure! just stay there in case something goes
wrong." Sabre looked excited about testing this and
his voice also showed it too.
" Don't worry." Caro chuckled "We will." Sabre typed
in the last code and the back sparked but sabre didn't
see it and kept it going
" 3…2…1…HERE WE GO!" Sabre pressed the blue button on
the keyboard, and the projector burst into flame
" NO, NO! THIS ISN'T SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN!" Sabre yelled
over the crackling He started frantically typing in
codes trying to shut it off when fire made it to the
explosives and they ignited blowing everyone either
out of the lab, or over onto a wall. Marlette was
the first awake and she saw Sabre laying next to Hyper
Zone Projector, she knew that he was alive when he
groaned slightly
" Guardian! Guardian! Are you all right?" She knew
that the question was stupid she just hoped the
guardian was all right. He couldn't be dead.
"I was…so stupid. I should have…listened to…the
counsel. Tell Jenna…I'm sorry."
" No! No! don't say that Guardian Sabre! It wasn't
your fault! Someone else must have done it! It
wasn't your fault sir!" She said quickly
" No… No one… No one else was…was here. It was… it
was… all my fault. I… I… I am so… so sorry… for…for
everything." Sabre winced from the pain and his
breathing started to slow. Marlette put her fingers
on his wrist
" Tell…Lukas…I will…always…Love him." Those were
sabre's last words as heart stopped
" Yes Guardian. I will tell them everything you said."
Marlette stood up and brushed her self off and headed
off to tell the counsel that he was dead

It was almost dusk when the door bell rang at Sabre
and Jenna's house . The Grand High Messenger was
there to deliver a message.
" Hello Lady Jenna-lu, this is for you." Then he about
faced and left leaving Jenna calling after him
" Thank you!"
I hope sabre's Projector worked! Maybe he's on the
floating Island!
She opened the letter and read
Dear Lady Jenna-Lu
We regret to inform you that your husband was
tragically killed when his Hyper Zone Projector
exploded. Killing him and our Officer of the sciences
officer Caro.
Please except our deepest condolences during this
tragic time
The Echidna High Council
As Jenna finished she burst into tears her husband was
dead, how was she going to tell their son?

"And that, Ladies and gentlemen of the council is how
my father was murdered!" Lukas said pacing around the
room
" And what proof do you have again child?" the
Counselor said when the door burst open and Marlette
rushed in crying and screaming
" I DID IT! I DID IT! I'm SORRY! I'M SORRY! I
DIDN'T MEAN IT! AND IT WAS ALL HIS FAULT!!!" she
screamed and cried to Lukas hands and knees " PLEASE
FORGIVE ME GUARDIAN!" Lukas spoke to her softly until
she calmed down and she stood up
" IT WAS HIM!" all eyes pointed onto the High
councilor and he ran out of the room, only to get
cornered by the Constable and his men. Lukas stood
silently as the room vacated, he had his answer. So
he headed home to tell his mother the truth.
