Well, this fic takes place about 10 years in the future. Here goes.

On the Floating Island, there is a Guardian named Knuckles the Echinda, and his wife, Julie-Su, for a solid 4 years. Together, they had a child, named Lara-Fei, a pretty young girl.

However, being Guardian of the Floating Island took up much of Knux's time, and the pressure wasn't easy for him to handle. It got so bad, that there was a stretch of time where Knux started to come home drunk, and this is the time when the marriage between Julie-Su and Knuckles was most tested. Tonight was just such a night. Knuckles walks through the door....

"Knuckles..... don't tell me you're drunk again!? C'mon...." She takes him to the bedroom. There she finally lays him down and he goes to sleep.

The following morning, Knuckles finally wakes up from bed at 10:00 am in the morning. After he suffers the effects of the hangover, he goes into the living room and finds a note. He picks it up, and it reads.....

Knuckles,

I've decided to take Lara-Fei to a hotel with me and we're going to stay there untill you give up this constant drinking.

Julie-Su.

Knuckles is simply stunned to see this. He decides to go out and try to figure this thing out, because he didn't even have any idea what happened last night at this point.

He starts to wonder around town for awhile. Then, about an hour later, he decides to sing a bit to maybe help piece this together.

As he finishes, he doesn't notice Julie-Su coming behind him with Lara-Fei in tow. "Knuckles, did you mean all those things you said?" She asks hopefully.

"Huh..... Julie..... every word, my sweet, and many more. Please come home with me. I'm sorry for what pain I caused you..... please...."

"If you're willing to mend your ways, dear, of course I will." She kisses him in the street. "Let's go home now."

The two of them go home, and they live forevermore happily ever after. They have two more children in their lifetimes, Nikla and Kasca, both boys. They proved worthy heirs to the great Knuckles. The lineage will survive forevermore....
