The Fandom that Cried Plothole.
What is it with most Sonic fans? Is there something in us that naturally causes us to do it? Is it some deep dislike for the way Sonic Team makes games? Is it an urge to write the games ourselves? Whatever the reason, why is it that almost every game, there’s at least a few people that immediately yell, "OMGZ! Plothole!!!!1!one!" I mean, just sit back and think. Do they have to explain everything in each game? Even in the earlier games, there were things where they weren’t fully explained. But did people freak out about plotholes. No, not really. Why should it be different when there are more advanced plots? "Oh, but Ekajra, that’s the whole reason!" But, it isn’t. With the more advanced storylines, that means they can often leaves things out, and then in the next game explain it, and in better detail. Let me put this in a different example. Think of a TV show. Now, in every episode, do they explain every little detail? No, they leave some things out to keep you coming back. With games, each game is like an episode in a series. They might not reveal everything right away, but there’s a chance they’ll reveal it in the next game. If not that, another on down the road. Of course, if it’s ten games and they still haven’t explained such and such, then it’s either time to let it go, or then call it a plothole. But if you just beat a game like, say, Sonic the Hedgehog ’06, don’t start yelling about every single thing that they didn’t explain just let it rest. Besides, that game never happened anyway.
