THE CHOSEN ONE, Part 3: TO THE BRINK

Knuckles and Turbo Tails (TT) get ready to square off and since TT wouldn't get out of Knux' face, Knux clocked TT, which sent TT flying. Knux turns his attention to Merlin & Athair, but doesn't keep it there long as TT comes back and returns the punch. While those two are fighting, Merlin tells Athair that they should step in before someone gets hurt. Athair nixes that idea figuring that Knuckles really wouldn't trust them at all if they did that.

Back with the combatants, Knuckles has picked up a new trick and shoots an energy beam from his eyes to get TT off of him. In return, TT uses his tails to grab Knux' ankles and holds Knuckles upside-down with them. TT continues to ask Knuckles to calm down so they can discuss things, but Knuckles isn't listening and goes ballistic on TT. Merlin comments that something is wrong since Tails isn't even defending himself now, when Knuckles stops and disappears because somehow he heard Julie-Su call for him.

As Merlin and Athair go over to the unconscious TT, Merlin asks Athair what went wrong because TT is stronger than Super Sonic or Hyper Knuckles. Athair probes TT's mind and finds out that this Tails is not the Tails that belongs in this version of Mobius. The decision is made to return this Tails to Knothole without saying anything, while the two of them go out to search for Tails Prime. Though Merlin goes along with the idea, he wonders about Knuckles.
