Merlin is still upset that Athair caused Tails' current state and while Athair accepts the blame, he says that Tails is the only one who can save Knuckles. Merlin doesn't see the connection, so Athair explains that Tails is one of the few who Knuckles actually trusts and that the danger is so great that Tails is probably the only one who can save them all. Merlin says that he won't do it, and when Athair mentions the "prophecies" Merlin counters by saying "how many actually came true" when Athair lead the Lost Tribe. Athair responds that it wasn't the prophecies, but his interpretation of them.

Suddenly, Merlin & Athair hear Knuckles crying out "Father...Mother...Julie-Su...Anyone?" just before he finally goes to sleep out of exhaustion. Merlin asks Athair if he's concerned, but Athair thinks that this would be the best time to deal with Knuckles. Merlin thinks about it and then sighs as he makes his decision. Merlin says the incantation (if you have the comic, don't you just love the creativity--or lack thereof ^^) to cause Tails to assume his form as "Turbo Tails"--his ultimate form.

Wherever Knuckles is, he wakes up as he sees something that looks like Tails heading his way. Tails confirms that he's Tails and says that he'll help Knuckles find out what happened to his family. Knuckles becomes quiet as he looks around so Tails asks him what's wrong. Knuckles tells him that someone else is nearby and Merlin & Athair finally reveal themselves. Athair says that they're only there to help, but Knuckles says that they're lying and is about to attack them, but gets decked by Tails, who comments that Knux isn't decifering who's friend or foe very well at the moment. However, Knuckles is very upset about being punched and is looking to fight.
