Sonic is dreaming and in his dream he out racing a train and when he gets into a tunnel he's surprised to see a green gem. Sonic comments that it doesn't look like a chaos emerald and then notices Tails, Amy, and Knux' reflections in the gem as they approach him from behind. Sonic is wondering what is going on and where's Sally and the other Freedom Fighters. Amy says that it's just them and some "others" (hint about the "secret" characters in Sonic Shuffle). Lumina makes her prescence known at this point and goes on to explain things. She tells them that gem is the Precious Stone, which is the gateway to Maginary World. Lumina says that Void has taken over and is causing the destruction of Maginary World and that a champion is needed. Sonic agrees to help out. Suddenly Sonic wakes up and is surprised to see Lumina with Tails, Amy, and Knuckles. Lumina tells Sonic that it wasn't a dream and that "it's time to save Maginary World."
