RETURN TO ALBION, Part 2: A MATTER OF SELF INTEREST

The main quintet for this series (Knuckles, Rob, Antoine, Bunnie, and Amy) are on a boat heading for Albion. While the five of them are discussing what Knuckles and Rob did the last time Knuckles was in the area (Knuckles #10-12 & Sonic #58), they are unknowingly being monitored by the Albion High Council, led by Gala-Na. The group is trying to decide their course of action, especially since "the male coyote" (meaning Antoine) "bears a considerable resemblance" to their "guest."

Knuckles and company land on the shores of Albion and Rob mentions that he hasn't seen the High Sheriff nor has his roboticized band been controlled by the High Sheriff since his last battle with him. Knuckles says there's a possibility that the High Sheriff could've been a threat to someone else as he's surprised to see Gala-Na waiting. When Knuckles says that he didn't think anyone knew that they were coming, Gala-Na says that the Albion echidnas know more than he realizes, but they don't communicate with the Brotherhood though they keep begging them to return to Albion. Knuckles wants to know what happened to the Floating Island, but Gala-Na says "in time" and escorts them to rooms for them to sleep in.

A little later, Knuckles is sitting outside on top of a balcony and comments that his "problem ain't the priority around here." Yanar, who was with the Albion High Council, notices that everyone except Knuckles is sleeping and decides to go see him. Yanar tells him that they know why Knuckles and company are all here to which Knuckles gets angry because of the Albion echidnas in action. Yanar says that they couldn't do anything, but that there's a more immediate problem that concerns someone else in Knuckles' group. Yanar takes Knuckles to the place where the Albion echidnas have the High Sheriff strapped on a table. He tells Knuckles that the High Council plans on de-activating the High Sheriff, who takes that exact moment to come online and break his restraints. Knuckles pushes Yanar out the way and tells the High Sheriff that "we can do this the easy way." However, moments later there's a huge explosion which wakes up Antoine and Rob who are both wondering what's going on.
