Knuckles arrives at Haven where he meets Locke and asks him what's going on. Locke tells Knuckles that he was about to go search for him. Archy says that Locke is being overprotective of Knux and that he assured him that he was all right. Knuckles agrees, but states that "not everyone else was." He also states that he thought it was Haven's responsibility to protect the Floating Island. Locke says that Thunderhawk was watching the place at the time, and "it's a good bet he'll have some answers!"

Locke, Knuckles, and Spectre (who appeared out of no where) go over to Thunderhawk, who blames that it was Hunter's fault that they weren't able to act fast enough to save the island (remember, he tampered with their cameras back in KTE #31). Soon, Constable Remington contacts them by radio, and gives them some clips of Dr. Eggman (I like to call him that better than RM 2 ;) and his shadowbots terrorizing Echidnaopolis. Knuckles "swears that's Robotnik" and states it makes sense now why the island fell, since Eggman was always after the chaos emerald. Thunderhawk tells them that they can either "restore the island the way it was before the disaster" or that they can "go after the party responsible." Soon, using their long distance camera, they spot Eggman heading for the "Mysterious Cat Country", where all the emerald shards have spread after the blast. And here's what Knuckles had to say about the whole thing:

"We could have avoided all this, y'know. If you guys had only helped Princess Sally when she came to us, we wouldn't be in this mess!"

(Yes! That's telling them, Knux!) And Locke's reply: That's ENOUGH, Knuckles! I'm still you father and I will not have you addressing your elders in that tone of voice! Whatever you may think of our decision -- the greater good is always our utmost concern!" (Yeah, whatever Locke :P) Spectre asks Locke if THIS was the case, and Thunderhawk says that they made the correct decision, based on the previous data. Knuckles doesn't care, and gets out of Haven to go after Eggman and the shards.

Meanwhile, Mighty, Vector, and Julie-Su are looking at what's left of the Chaos Chamber. Julie thinks her "former comrades" are responsible for the destruction of the Chamber, but Mighty disagrees, because even the DL weren't "suicidal". Vector wonders who did the damage then, and Julie concludes that someone from "off-island" did this. Suddenly there was a scream, and Julie notes that it was Espio screaming. They rush to the edge of the island, but actually find themselves on a beach. They also find Espio, who announces that the "new neighbors" have arrived, which happened to be the cats from the Mysterious Cat Country.
