Knuckles is exploring some caves when he trips over a skeleton. By tripping over the skeleton, Knuckles ended up finding Mathias Poe and Damocles the Elder. Knuckles was going to sneak up on them, but he loses his grip on the wall and lands on his tush. Mathias Poe creates a golem of steel, which just shrugs off Knuckles' best punches. Archimedes makes it known that he stowed away in Knuckles' back-pack. Archimedes distracts Mathias Poe because "golems are only animate if they get a constant supply of magic life." The golem starts to become vulnerable and Knuckles totals it. Archimedes starts lecturing, which Knuckles couldn't care less about because he wants to find the sword. Some potions are spilled over Damocles, who is a dummy, and turns the dummy into the Sword of Acorns. Knuckles tries to use the sword to get to the Hall of Limbo, but it doesn't work. They decide that it only works for royalty and all they have to do now is return the sword to Sally for her to use to save the King.
