Knuckles is the slave of the Enchantress and the Sorcerer and is suffering from a bit of memory loss. He starts to recall that after his latest adventure with Sonic, he, Archimedes, and the Chaotix figured out that the Land of the Dark must be another name for the Floating Island's Forbidden Zone. Knuckles went to the Forbidden Zone and was attacked by the Sorcerer and Enchantress, who hypnotized him with one look in her eyes. Knuckles continues to do their chores, while realizing that he's going to have to be patient like the Ancient Walkers stated in their riddle. Suddenly, Sir Connery, a paladin, enters with his Sword of Justice and breaks the Enchantress' spell over Knuckles. Knuckles KO's the Sorcerer and Sir Connery gives Knuckles another riddle to lead Knuckles to the Sword of Acorns.
