Knuckles is in Downunda and watching Angel Island as due to the flight path of the island, it is getting ready to come near the highest mountain peak on Downunda. It's been almost a year since Angel Island fell to Robotnik and Knuckles is figuring on rectifying the situation starting "tonight." Knuckles knows that King Max has told him to wait until the time is right and everything is ready for an attack to regain the island and that it does make sense to wait. However, Knuckles noticed that he was being sent to a location that was only "20 miles away" from where Angel Island happens to be that he had to take the chance, with or without his powers, as it is his duty to protect the island as its Guardian. As Knuckles climbs the mountain he thinks about whether or not he's doing the right thing and feels that he has to be since he's not doing it for glory. He wonders if they've been waiting too long because there's no telling what Robotnik has been doing to the island, but he holds that thought as he has to pick up the pace or he'll miss his chance. As Knuckles continues to debate whether or not he should go in his mind, he remembers what King Max said about patience and that Locke has trusted King Max' judgement as well. So in the end, Knuckles decides that even though it's hard, he'll wait "for now."

Meanwhile, Robotnik is upset because he had seen that Knuckles was approaching and was hoping to "blast him to smithereens" when he attempted to get on the island. A.D.A.M. tells Robotnik to have patience as there's a "98% chance" that they'll get another shot at it.
