Mogul is threatening to kill Dimitri if Knuckles doesn't agree to go into Mogul's Chaos Syphon Chamber. A little bit of banter and Mogul reveals that he met Dimitri when Dimitri designed the Chaos Syphon (which is how Mogul knows how to make one). Anyway, Mogul wants to have Knuckles' power now so Knuckles decides that he'll oblige--in Knux' own way.

Back at the hospital, the place suddenly starts rocking nearly sending Harry off his bed, which both Vector & Julie-Su are holding onto for support. Julie-Su comments on the green flashes of light coming from outside. Remington correctly deduces that it's Knuckles and tells everyone it's time to go.

Meanwhile at the Dark Legion's Battlecruiser, Lien-Da asks for a damage report, which Gae-Na says is minimal but notices strong chaos energy readings. Lien-Da figures that it's Knuckles and orders a team to be assembled to accompany her since she thinks Dimitri would be wherever Knuckles is.

Back with Knuckles, Mogul is commenting on the young learning things the hard way and presses the button to cut off Dimitri's life support. Knuckles turns his attention to trying to save Dimitri and sends his power toward Dimitri. However, Mogul was expecting this and when he cut Dimitri's life support, he also turned on his Chaos Syphon Chamber (which just happened to be the entire room the trio is in). Knuckles decides that his best chance is to try to overload the syphon with his power which creates a tremendous light show resulting in wreaking the entire neighborhood.

Remington, the Chaotix, and Lien-Da arrive on the scene at approximately the same time. Remington draws his gun wanting to know why Lien-Da is here and she says that the Legion is here for Dimitri. Since Knuckles was going for Dimitri, Remington says she can stay. While Remington and Lien-Da check out the ruined building, she comments to herself "If he only knew whom he truly was addressing!" The duo find Dimitri, but he tells them not to worry about him but to look for Knuckles since he owes Knuckles his life. Not too far away, both Lien-Da and Remington notice a glove with knuckles sticking out from beneath some rubble.

Elsewhere in Echidnaopolis, the councilor is waiting for Knuckles to arrive for a rededication ceremony. Lara-Le figures that there's a valid reason since Knuckles is very responsible. The councilor begins the ceremony, which is about renaming the Floating Island to Angel Island. In the middle of his speech, someone runs up to the councilor to give him a note. To everyone, the councilor announces that Knuckles died while Lara-Le leaves the stage crying.
