Knuckles is in Lara-Le's apartment and she can't believe that Knuckles would support the Dark Legion & comments on what will Locke think. Knuckles says that she wouldn't care and Lara-Le responds that 1) he won't talk to his mom that way and 2) that she & Locke had differences in how Knux should be raised but politically the were "eye-to-eye" in agreement. Knuckles says that the Mitres weren't totally innocent either, to which Lara-Le agrees but they didn't try "hostile takeovers" either. Knuckles doesn't think there's any harm in letting Dimitri speak before giving the "heave-ho" but Lara-Le believes that Dimitri "represents a dangerous threat to [her] children." Knuckles is confused by the "children" remark as he's an only child, and Lara-Le informs Knux that she's pregnant & he's going to have a sibling. Knuckles says that never really thought about it before to which Lara-Le basically says the same thing can be said for other things he's done.

At the High Council Chambers, Dimitri is stating his case and mostly pointing out that it's much more dangerous for the echidnas to continue to be split than anything he has proposed. The Mitre agrees about the split being a very serious matter, but wonders if people can accept a drastic change very quickly and points out that "Aurora, herself, did not mean for echidna to artificially replace what nature provided." Dimitri responds that since echidnas can reason & think that "does it not mean to utilize those gifts for the greater good?"

Meanwhile, "Jani-Ca" is standing by a tree waiting on Knuckles (so she can follow him) and wonders what and when everything exactly happened since she only knows "rough details" and they're "suspect." When Knuckles finally leaves, he's heads downtown and ends up talking to Kommissar, who "Jani-Ca" comments is "the one person mom absoulutely refuses to talk about." She's surprised that they're going inside like "they were good buddies" and wonders what Kommissar said.

Dimitri is still pleading his case, to which the council is doubtful of his sincerity when Kommissar & Knuckles enter. Knuckles asks to speak, which he's granted. Knuckles just tells Dimitri to trust him. Knuckles says that he understands the apprehension but they'll keep on fighting unless someone will take a chance.

"Jani-Ca" is trying to get into the chamber, but the guard says that she needs ID. She just uses her powers and lifts the guard into the air and knocks him out as his head hits the ceiling. Just as she enters she hears someone shout "You betrayed us for the last time!!!" and notices Remington firing and says to herself "I'm too late!" as she tries to stop him.
