Kommissar is angry that Knuckles has actually brought back the Floating Island residents. Dimitri comments that Knuckles "demonstrated more power in that one act alone than I ever did in my Enerjak persona." Kommissar says that they need to kill Knuckles ASAP if he's that powerful and Dimitri tells her to be careful since Knuckles might have been able to hear that. Kommissar doesn't care but figures she needs a "pawn" to do her work for her and sees possible "candidates" on the screen.

On "screen," are Remington who asks if the girl if she is alright and she gives her name as "Jani-Ca" out of fear of someone discovering her identity if she gave her real name. At that moment, Lara-Le & Wynmacher find Remington who they were looking for since Lara-Le is trying to find Knuckles. Remington says that she shouldn't worry since he's probably either tending to business or with his friends.

Speaking of Knux' friends, Mighty, Vector, and Espio find themselves alone in the Dark Legion base where the group was last fighting some Legionnaires (Super Special #14). Since they don't think Knuckles got the short end of the fight, Espio figures that it's probably something to do with Haven.

In Haven, the Brotherhood finds the place is totalled. Sojourner can't see any evidence as to the cause, yet Thunderhawk says it's plainly the work of the Dark Legion and wonders why they're in Haven when they were fighting the Legionnaires at the Grand Conservatory (Super Special #14). Locke wonders about Mathias, while Spectre mentions that Hawking has joined Mathias in the "next evolution" and he senses that someone else has joined them too. Locke asks "is it Knuckles?" when Knuckles goes into Locke's head telling him that he's "fine" and "in the city." Sabre notices the confused look on Locke's face and asks him what's wrong. Locke says that his "good intentions may have turned into [his] worst nightmares."

In the city, Knuckles approaches Lara-Le, Wynmacher, Remington & "Jani-Ca." Lara-Le runs to him and gives him a hug wondering where he's been and that kind of stuff. "Jani-Ca" thinks to herself that it's him, but doesn't understand why he's green, which surprises her. Remington thinks her surprise is that she's never met Knuckles, and she comments that she's just never seen a green echidna before while mentioning to herself that she doesn't remember her father ever being green. Remington doesn't know why he's green either, but he knows that it's the Guardian. Suddenly, the Dark Legion airship appears overhead and when Dimitri reveals himself, Remington is ready to apprehend him, but Knuckles stops him. Dimitri says that the technocracy wants to join the rest of echidna society and will do whatever it takes to do it.
