In the deserted Echidnaopolis, a ball of bluish energy gathers and it reveals a red female echidna, who happens to have Julie-Su's hair style & colors, as well as one long strand like Lara-Le. She figures that she's in the right place, but wonders if she made it in time.

Meanwhile, in the city, a Dark Legionnaires are checking the city in search of something "out of the ordinary." When they report in that they haven't found anything yet, Dimitri tells them to keep looking. Kommissar enters Dimitri's chambers asking if he's feeling well to which Dimitri replies that it was nice of her to ask and that she'll make a "worthy heir." Kommissar continues by informing him that Knuckles left and has been on the Floating Island for several hours. Dimitri now wonders if Knuckles is who his sensors were picking up and then realizes that Knuckles might be trying to reverse the quantum beam effects himself.

In the city by a statue to the Guardian Hawking, Knuckles is doing precisely that.

Walking the streets, the echidna girl figures that she's at the point when everyone of the Floating Island was in another zone when suddenly she feels the winds pick up. She graps onto a poll to try to keep her balance but ends up being sent flying anyway. When she lands, she's greeted by Constable Remington who offers her a hand--and you can see that the inhabitants are reappearing. However, the girl's thoughts immediately go to "It's the echidna who killed Knuckles!!!"
