In Knothole, Sally is chewing out Antoine for not telling her about the mission to find her mother and older brother. Antoine claims that it wasn't his place to tell her. She storms off in agreement and decides to take her anger out on her father. Sally tells him that he's acting like a stranger by demanding her to marry Antoine (Sonic #60) and then not telling her the truth about her mother and brother (Sonic #68). King Max says that he was only trying to protect her and everyone, but he failed. He still holds hope and the source of that hope comes from the Floating Island.

At the edge of the Floating Island, Catweazle sees Knuckles and the two start talking. When Knuckles says that he rather deal with dingoes than family problems, Catweazle starts talking about his family. Knuckles says that his family have the problems, not him, but he has to deal with them. Catweazle says that Knuckles hasn't dealt with anything until he has dealt with his sister. Knuckles says that he doesn't have any siblings. Catweazle brings up the point that his mother is planning on getting remarried and that she might have another child. Knuckles replied, "So what if they do!" and Catweazle says that isn't the right attitude to have. Catweazle tells Knuckles that there have been egg-shaped pods flying by recently and in fact one is heading for the Floating Island right now.

In the approaching pod, Sally is talking to Nicole and is upset that she doubted her father, who explained why gave certain orders, like the dismantingly of the roboticized Mobians (Sonic #55). Nicole reminds Sally to activate the signal so that the Brotherhood knows that they're friend, not foe. In Haven, Thunderhawk and Sabre receive the signal and give Sally the go ahead to land.

Knuckles watches the pod land and as he heads over to check it out, Sally exits. After saying hi, Sally gets angry with Knuckles, who she claims knew her mother was on the Floating Island. Knuckles insists that he didn't know Queen Alicia was here and that it's only recently that he's starting to learn what's going on. Sally tells him that she's here to get the Brotherhood to help in the fight against Robo-Robotnik. Knuckles says "You know about Haven? Now who's keeping secrets from whom?!" Sally says that her father told her and that he tells her things only when he feels she has to know it. Knuckles knows that feeling and asks her what kind of help does she need. Before she can answer, Spectre and Deo appear and take them to Haven.

At Haven, Spectre introduces everyone to Sally, who tells them afterward that the matter she has to discuss is urgent. While the Brotherhood and Sally assemble in the conference room, Locke notices that Knuckles is a little upset. Knuckles tells Locke that he doesn't like the fact that secrets kept from him are affecting his friends. Locke tells Knuckles that he wasn't supposed to become friends with Sally since she might become leader of her people and her interests might not coincide with his. Locke says that the Mobians try to live peacefully with those who would prey on them are always in a constant state of war. Sally asks for help in curing her mother, which she is told by Spectre that there is nothing more that the Brotherhood could do for Queen Alicia. Sally also asks for help against Robo-Robotnik (aka Robotnik Mach 2). Spectre asks Sally if the Mobians are ready to use every means available, including the latest munitions technology. Sally says that she can't agree to that, so Spectre tells her that her request is denied.

Later on, Knuckles goes to the Royal Compound to see Sally. Sally is sitting on a rock and is upset. Knuckles wants to talk because he figures that Sally would understand him better than anyone else especially since her father isn't level with her just like his. Sally concedes that point. Knuckles says that he's still her friend and that friends can help you get through anything. They start reminiscing about when they were young and Knuckles says that there's no way he wouldn't have told her about her mother if he knew. Sally says that he didn't stick up for her when she was talking to his relatives. Knuckles tells her that as far as his relatives are concerned he's a "novice" and he can't break the system. Knuckles tells her that he believes that the Brotherhood should join the fight against Robo-Robotnik which surprises Sally, but he can't convince his family until finds a way to counter 400 years of echidna history. Watching them from the Royal Compound window are the Colonel and Mrs. Sommersby who says "They're just kids! They should be laughing and having fun not fighting wars and carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders!"

Sally heads for the pod she came in, while Knuckles follows her tells her that he hasn't changed. Sally says that could be the problem since he didn't join before and he won't now. Sally asks how can they be friends after that and then leaves. Knuckles stood and watched long after Sally was out of sight "resenting the fact that the very reasons which brought us together were now tearing us apart." Knuckles could understand how both Sally and his family felt about things and wonders who's side should he choose.
