SONIC THE MOVIE CHARACTERS
In Sonic the Movie, the main echidna is a treasure hunter, who also happens to know his way around Planet Freedom. Knux can glide, dig, has smarts, and is full of attitude. He also happens to be Sonic's "best friend."
The blue hedgehog, known for being the fastest thing alive, displays a lot of attitude in Sonic the Movie. Tails is his partner in protecting the Land of the Sky from Robotnik.
The two-tailed fox is the technological wiz kid of the movie and is second only to Robotnik in terms of scientific knowledge. He hates thunder, which spooks him, but Tails, while looking up to Sonic, is very independent in his own right.
Robotnik is the ruler of Robotropolis, which is in the Land of the Dark. He is the mastermind of the whole plot, including the "Mecha-Robotnik" ruse.
Metal is Robotnik's creation. Once Robotnik managed to add Sonic's bio data to Metal, Metal had all of Sonic's abilities and a few other tricks in his possession.
Sara is the President's daughter and Robotnik's object of affection. Sara, however, is more interested in Sonic. She's mainly whiny and does take part in the "Mecha-Robotnik" ruse, but in the end she does show that she's more or less on the side of the good guys.
The President is the one in charge of the Land of the Sky and generally calls Sonic whenever there's trouble.
Forgetful and dim-witted best describe the Old Man. According to him, he used to be an expert pilot during his prime, which is long gone.
